Remember the I won't raise taxes Governor Doyle, well I also recall him doing some "research" into these gas prices - anyone, anyone remember that?  Remember the outrage from our old Attorney General??   WHAT ever happened to that?

Maybe it got hidden under the spare tire?

I remember my dad yelling at me not to slam the car doors really hard.  Well, I find myself doing the same thing to my son.  We just went to drop something off to a friend whom my husband was meeting for dinner.  I let me son go in and deliver the Scout Christmas Wreath form.  He probably thought he was really cool going into TJ Alioto's by himself.  Sure enough, they were in the bar part - not the restaurant part - score!

Anyhow, he gets out of the car and SLAMS the door really hard.  This is a 10 year old car.  I felt bad for yelling at him.  It was JUST a reaction - but WHY do you need to slam the door, bang on the windows when I drop you off of school - for me to go on, or pull on the top rack of our wagon.    i told him if he couldn't respect the cars, he couldn't ride in them and he would be walking to and from school every day!

God really did listen to my mom when she cursed me "I hope you have a kid that is just like you!"

GEEZE, do you ever find things coming out of your mouth your parents said?

Today I saw this little girl getting on the bus for camp with this HUGE backpack.  She was the size of my little guy when he first went.  We had a larger backpack and I remember him complaining how heavy it was for him.    That was four years ago.  She turned back to her mom, with the fear of the unknown look. I remember that same look.

As we were standing in line, I was told I could go back to the car if I wanted.  GOSH they grow up FAST!  I sat in the car waiting for the bus to leave, crying  and wondering if I will be going to school this fall on the first day.  Then I saw the crooked little arm wave he does and I cried even harder.  Thank goodness for sunglasses - that's all I can say!  I waited until the bus started up, followed them out of the parking lot and enjoyed that crooked little wave as they turned left and I turned right.

I called my friend as soon as I woke up - they traveled Amtrack from Chicago to New York and left last night.   About an hour ago, they were in Pennsylvania.  She said that someone was escorted off the train by two troopers.  WHY? She didn't know - bet you can figure out I would have found out... (maybe that's why she doesn't blog).

The conductors were also asking people if they were US Citizens.  If you weren't, you had to show your passport and proper paperwork.  I'm glad they are at least attempting to check passengers on the trains - even if it is on the honor system for the most part.

Call me crazy, but for fun my son and I drove some friends to Chicago to catch at 10:00 p.m. train to New York and drove back - they would have had a 4-5 hour layover if they would have caught the train out of Milwaukee.

On our way down, we passed three Harley bikers.  The first driver looked familiar and I said "Hey Bert is that Carey"? He said "Terry"? I said "No Carey", then my friends husband said "Larry" and I said "no Carey"! "Who's Carey"? the husband and wife said togther.

If someone's not into blogging it's just not even worth explaining - especially to three people so I said "Aw forget it".  No my friend says from the back seat - "Who's Carey"?  I said the web producer from Fox6 that manages the blogs.  Then she says "OH Perry" - and we all start laughing.  Then her husband say's "How about Mary"?

As we near the Kenosha exit, the threesome comes up behind us again and I said Bert - check to see if that's Carey... NOPE he says, but the rest of the car chanted, Terry? Larry? Perry, Mary?

Well, we had a few laughs for a couple of miles!
