Bruce Patterson, WHITE republication from the suburbs??

How does being a " WHITE republican from the suburbs" has anything to do with Patterson not wanting to be linked as a coconspirator of Kwane Kilpatrick?  It doesn't matter if you are a white republican a black republican  a blue republican.  Heck I am a african american democract from Detroit, and I wouldn't want to be linked to him in any shape, form, or fashion, but his race should have nothing to do with it.  When Joann Watson spoke of "a WHITE lady in Lansing" deciding the fate of Detroit,  it shouldn't matter if shes a white lady,  a black lady or an Asian lady.  Brenda Jones not wanting to hire Gooden as the city council's attorney because he is not BLACK  it shouldn't matter if he's not black. The city has over 180 attorneys working for them  and I'm sure most of them are african americans. But this  WHITE man is getting the job done, now isn't he? Then there's  Kwame Kilpatrick using the race card to incite cries of public support  for himself, during his city of state address. What is this world coming to?  Will we ever get passed race? More then half of my neighbors are white, many are black some are islamic and some are gay and love them all!  There is no room for racism  or prejudice in Detroit, or any other city in  Michigan. Wake up people, look around there is a new day a change has come. There are white people in the city, there are black people in the suburbs . When the next elections come go out and vote your heart, vote intelligently, and vote for the people who will truly improve your quality of life.  Don't vote because the canidate is white or black but because they are the right person for the job.

Good post & it coincides with something I have always said; If & when our country is ever attacked, many can bet the enemy won't be racially profiling nor looking at anything or anyone other than Americans period. I agree 100% that our country has become so diverse with so many different ethnicities fighting amongst each other, along with a government that seems to promote diversity with their two major party system. It seems the government powers that be are more concerned with proving each other wrong & disagreeing with each other just to disagree than taking care of America's major issues like healthcare, the housing crisis, and oil prices.

I seem to remember a few years ago in Detroit seeing signs on the road during the elections saying to vote only black! The signs said vote black slate which meant only the black people running. I feel it shouldnt matter what color a person is and only that they can do the job!

Bruce Patterson will soon be a has been with term limits. I made sure he lost his home town in the elections. He barely took the election because of Trenton that gave him the couple of percentage points he needed to win.

Steveincanton, First of all I commend you on the pro active role that you play in your community. Color shouldn't play a role in who we vote for to represent us on a local, state or federal level. We all need to be more open minded, and need let go of our preconceive perceptions that we have about people based on their race. Many politicians play the race card as a political ploy in an effort to control the way that people vote. After these crooks get into office the only color they see is green. When have to think of voting as making a business decision and we have to make the best decision that can help improve our quality of life.

Well Springthing , you are correct in your post . But , stop voting for Democrats , because you will keep getting the same old crap you have been getting .
Check out the Libertarian party if you want real change .

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, SPRINGTHING.

We have the solution to this countries problems with differences in party lines, whether a politician is a DEM, REP, or LIB.

HIRE A NUDIST.......
