Anthony Adams, Detroit's Deputy Mayor had the nerve to say that the city councils lawyer should not be working with them because of a conflict of interest, because  he has sued the city of Detroit before. This is another example of how our Mayor of Detroit and his administration is insulting the intellegence of Detroiters. The Mayor tried to hire attorney Charles R. Edwards for his defense lawyer and Mr. Edwards turned him down flat.  Mr. Edwards is one of the best lawyers in the state of Michigan and beyond. Mr. Edwards has represented many police officers in law suits against the city, but Kwame didn't  see that as being a conflict of interest. The Judge that may handle this case against Kwame and his girl CB donated money to Kilpatrick election fund, Kilpatrick attended this Judge daughter's graduation party but yet they don't see that as a conflict of interest.  Kwame's office is full friends and relatives that Kwame appointed yet they don't see that as a conflict of interest. We all know of the longterm  affair with his Cheif of Staff CB, and again he didn't see that as a conflict of interest. The only conflict of interest that I have is having a Mayor who is charge with several crimes  still  holding public office; and a mother who happens to be a U.S. Senator that came to Detroit, called the Mayor "our boy" and told Detroiters to turn off our t.v. and not to read the newspaper. They are always playing the race card and a sick effort of brainwashing the people of Detroit.

Thanks Shockhazard, Detroiters we need to wake up and face the truth. It's not about race it's about character, honesty and electing the person who can enhance the quality of living for all of the people in the city of Detroit, not just a choosen few and improve the relations with all of the cities in our great state of Michigan. We may be down but Detroit and all of Michigan is far from out. However, we must elect honest officials who have the best interest of all people. Kilpatrick said that we should run our city like a business, well then I ask you if you had a business and one of your employees cost you millions of dollars because of his own personal business; what would you do?

Run it like a business ? Yeah , business as usual for the city .
He's just collecting a paycheck , waiting for someone else to fire him .
It's too bad , that when Detroit had that NAACP conference , with all of those people on hand , as well as all that media exposiur , they didn't grab up some signs and walk down the street protesting this administration , and calling for his resignation . Another opertunity missed by Detroiters .

That's true Shockhazard, but there has been rallies. The first was outside of the city county building, the second was on woodward the night that he gave his state of the city address, and our last rally was on E. Jefferson over 1200 people attended. I'm sure that there will be many more to come, until justice is served.

Shockhazard, alot of people don't attend those rallies and voice their opinions out of fear. Afterall, we still don't know what happen to Tamaira Green. The truth will come out though. Hopefully the FBI is investigating all of this because I believe that another charge of embezzlement should had been charged. What do you think?

I didn't think of that aspect . Who knows , maby " Bully " would send out the troops to tear gas a crowd that wasn't on their side . Or worse .
I would sure like to see a ballistics match on the bullets that killed Tamara , and the ones that killed her friend down south . With the tech we have today , one would think this would have allready been done .

Embezzlement is a whole other story . And why the silence from the F.B.I. ? With all of this coverage , I can't believe they haven't comeup with something yet . I guess I'm trying to say that the F.B.I. [ at the local level ], is somehow connected to the cover-up and/or cashflow of embezzled money .

Apparently, Barbara Racist Collins made a vilid point when she stated on the news that the Governor would see a rebellion by Detroiters; Why people fear that is beyond my comprehension because many know the city would never survive another riot, this is not 1967 & the technology would stop this insanity before it got off the ground, and people need to face the fact that this crime was planned & perpetrated by their own people in their own culture. Some people think that if they can't take/touch what isn't theirs in the first place, they can just destroy it so no one else can have/enjoy it. Pathetic.

Springthing, Shockhazard and Car7858, we need to talk to as many people as we can. And get this Mayor, these corupt Judges and a select few of the City Counsel. Out of here! If the City Counsel and the Governer are scared of him. We need to do our part and sign those
RECALL PETITIONS!

HoneyBrn, you are so right. We need to sign those recall petitions, go to all of the rallies and talk to other people in Detroit,oh and to continue to talk about the issues and the truth; something that Kwame knows nothing about. We need a Mayor that we respect not fear.We can trust him far as we can throw him.

When you have sooooooo much corruption in a city government, the citizens, who would normally picket, complain and write letters...are afraid. They fear that if they open their mouths that THEY could be the next Tamara Greene....I've NEVER seen a mayor that NEEDED a special protection unit. THAT ALONE should have opened the eyes of EVERY CITIZEN !!!! And it is frightful to know that so many police (upper ranks) were hand picked by Kwame...Detroit is becoming a dictatorship...

You're so right Shock!!! I listened to Adams last night talking about how they need to get this "stimulus" package approved and that if 'people want to run for the office of mayor they need to apply like everyone else'. Well Mr. Adams - SURPRISE!!!! For the first time in 25 years and BECAUSE OF the actions of the mayor the city council is finally doing their job and you have a problem with it???? Shouldn't you want a "Next Council" to go along with this "Next Detroit" you're promoting? By the way look up the word STIMULUS. It's defined as "incentive; motivation". You mean a new state of the art police/fire station is an INCENTIVE to city residents??? OMG, I thought we were SUPPOSED to have up to date police/fire equipment, etc.

Council members who have collected a check for the past 20 years and done nothing but refuse to reduce their own staff or budget during this crises hired family and friends and then some came under indicted, have finally been FORCED by the mayors actions to do its job and they have a problem. Council should review, rewrite, revoke, revamp and reinforce and then revisit every charter and ordinance on the books until the correspond to the current administration (whoever it is). IT'S THEIR JOB and not actions done to "politically grandstand". If you think about it, who in the heck would even want the job of mayor after 8 years of this BC...an a

...an administration that is too incompetent to "cook the books" so they just flat out steal. Who would want to come behind an administrative term that mastered the art of a ending EVERY fiscal year in deficit??

PessimisticOptimist, I was just saying today that whoever becomes our next Mayor is going to have a heck of a job. I mean how can we trust anybody after this Jerk? Everytime he opens his mouth somewhere within a paragraph is a lie. He is a master of manipulation. I'm sure you know that one of the ways that we are suppose to pay back the money supporting his stimulus plan is through profits from the casinos, you know the same casinos that are in trouble right now, especially the greek town casino. So if the casinos loss money just one year that means that the taxes are going to go up in an already overtaxed city.

Rosiegirl, you are so right my family used to begged me not to go to any of the rallies out of fear of him. At the first rally outside of the city county building it was a few people there that were taking pictures and they were not with the news media. The group of people that were there supporting the Mayor were many of the same group of people that was at his rally. Some of his supports are part of the organization the Masons. Not saying that all Masons are supporting the Mayor, but I know that they have held at least one meeting regarding him. He supports certain non-profit organizations, so that they will support him at any given time; which gives the appearance that many Detroiters are supporting him, which couldn't be farther from the truth.
