I agree with everything you've said here. I'm a mom as well, only my children are adults now, and I have grand-children in school. I support the Police Dept. fully. There have been times when poor judgement was used by some officers; but as a whole they do a very good job. I believe the problem lies within our government. When government took the control from parents and teachers, we began to see the fall of schools, and neighborhoods. The young people have no fear of anything, and even less respect for authority. This is not to say all children are bad. We don't hear as much about the one's who are truly excelling. I pray for a better way than what we have at present.

You cannot have someone handcuffed and hit them upside the head with a book bag... also,
you cannot jump off of a motorcyle and grab someone by the throat.
would you allow that to happen to your children?
when I was growing up we got hit with rulers and paddles. we didnt have to worry about getting hit in the head or someone putting their hands on our necks... that was over board. I SMELL ANOTHER LAW SUIT!

Tactic deployed,crowd dispursed. No injuries or property damage. A smart BLEEP teenager being grabbed by the throat and told to get his BLEEP out of there or go to lock up- nothing new there.Seems like a better choice then going to jail and mommy and daddy having to pay some fines and kid possibly getting a record.

The book bag upset the head I did not agree with, however from the looks of the video he barely even hit the kid with it and he sure did not seemed hurt.

The ruler and paddle days were good days, however; those days are long gone. Grabbing the kid by the throat may have seem tough but if would be much harder crying over him at a gravesite after being shoot for climbing into someone's window or having his brains blown out because a dope deal went bad. I do volunteer work with kids during the summer ages 9 through 13 some I hope I help save through the grace of God, but some I lose, if you only knew. What some kids don't do in the suburbs they come to Detroit to do and then they go back home, I see it everyday. Many of our kids need tough love now and they will thank us for it later; they will have a later. Not all kids need tough love some we can talk to and they will listen, but for the ones who don't listen Thank God for those police officers. It's not a good feeling picking your child up from school finding out that another child got shoot today.

When Cop's tell you to "Take Off"...you take off,get lost, go away...or risk getting the hell beaten out of you....This is real simple.....But then PhoenixTrinity777 thinks there was a major injustice done. Also Phoenix is not posting replys.....

Bob Thompson(White Guy Paving Contractor) tried to give $250,000,000 (MILLION) to Detroit for schools and was called an outsider and a Racist....He took his money and walked away......

Reverend Circa53, Bob Thompson was the best thing that could had happen to Detroit. The powers that be (local government and school board) brainwashed the taxpayers. Yes, the racism card is the main card that our government play when they want to manipulate the people of Detroit. If there was ever a time for the state government to step in is now! and Car7858 you're right discipline starts at home and so does responsibility and respect for ourselves and humen life. Bottom line Detroiter's we need to start thinking for ourselves, raise our children to become intelligent men and women and stop allowing our local government and school board manipulate us for their own purpose and agenda. I mean how much worst can it get a 25% drop out rate. I'm thinking about sending my daughter back to private school, while we're still in Detroit.

How in the HELL can people defend police brutality... WRONG IS WRONG.
I remember last year when that kid from pershing high school (WHO HAD JUST GRADUATED, BY THE WAY) got his Eye fractured by
an ignorant police officer they put him in a cell, didnt get him any medical attention and didnt even press any charges...
I respect authority, but i hate abusive authority. thats just flat out BULL#$&^*&^*^%%$

I understand what you are saying, but, that does not give the police the right to violate your person, especieally if you are already handcuffed. If you are deserving of capital punishment then fine.
All children aren't bad... My 18 year old son was eating at a coney island oneday in Detroit and the DPD harrassed him (Called him a fat BLEEP.. told him he was to BLEEP fat and stupid to be a crimminal) after they smashed his head up against the wall and searched him for a weapon.... on another occasion while waiting on the bus on 8 mile road (coming home from work) the WPD harrased him, actually he was walking down 8 Mile because the bus, for some reason never came. Also, my son was robbed at gun point a half a block from home.. THANK YOU JESUS, a wallet and a few dollars can be replaced.....
Actually, what i'm trying to say is that ALL KIDS AREN'T BAD. every child that was outside was not acting rowdy. If you want to blame someone for that mess blame the school. They should have been more organized. You don't just throw 2500 kids out of a school at one time.. there should have been some type of evacuation plan if the fire was that serious.
What is going to happen is that the POLICE may POTENTIALLY make some good kids BITTER.
Let the punishment fit the crime.
Now, back to my son, he is one of those good kids. He graduated HS he works and goes to WSU.
I recently purchased him a used vehicle and we are know longer in DETROIT! GOD IS GOOD

I never said the police were tright in any fashion but if the ones involved had been in school learning like they should have been, this incident would have never happened. More than likely it was either students from a rival school or others that are seen quite alot hanging around the school areas when they let out.
