Since it appears that the AAM strike may end , leaving the workers with a ten dollar an hour paycut , it leaves me with a few questions . The Democrats have been taking money from union members of this country for a long time , telling them that they are for the working man , and getting a vote from most them without any thought going into it . So then ,

#1 How many elected Democrats in Detroit [ or Michigan for that matter ] showed up at a picket line in support of those union workers ?

#2 How many elected Democrats did anything to help the striking workers by setting up a food bank for them ?

#3 How many elected Democrats set up a financial aid of some sort to help out striking workers ?

#4 How many elected Democrats ever tried passing a bill that would allow striking workers to collect unemployment  benefits while striking ? [ If their contract expires , shouldn't that give them a right to leave work on the basis of a breached contract ]

#5 Why did Detroit city union workers allow Kwame to con them into a paycut ? [ Isn't he supposed to be for the working man ? ]

I think the unions better find a way to shake off the Democratic shakles they have around their ankles before they sink , and start to get all political parties behind them . Just the threat of the Dems losing the union backing would make all parties start to work for all working Americans .

It looks to me like the sheep have been lead into brown pastures , but are still following the herder that brought them there .

What do you think ?

Shock, my mother was PRO-DEMO on a hardcore note working in and around noted DEMO's, such as Hubert Humprey/Walter Mondale many years back. For her and my dad, there was nothing they did that my parents didn't turn a blind eye too, for they were Gods. She was actually the union secretary for her work, and after almost 40 years of working in that plant, what she got from the company you could spit on and still have room. During those years, the union only slept with management, and the workers suffered.
They were as you say, sheep being led to slaughter or browner pastures. I'd love to see Billary or Jacko O'Sama come off their pretty porcelain pedestals and walk a picket line for a day. It's not pretty, but we have, so we know.

My mother was too Mid , she helped get her friend Jim O'Hara into office , and brown nosed with the best [ or worst ]of them . She used to be a big hitter with the party But just before she died , she admitted that she didn't like what the party was turning into , and was thinking of becoming a Libertarian .

The Democrats keep the Republicans from changing the laws on strikes. The Republicans have tried for years to make it legal to fire the strikers at will.

It sounds like we could use a couple more political parties. I don't like my choices. What do they stand for?

When I worked for Teamsters, MEA and other unions they always pushed for the democrats even if they were not for our group! They even had the nerve to ask us to give more money to the party. When my son was a teen he worked for Kroger and you wouldnt believe the political lies and propaganda they pushed with no basis or accountability! I called the union and demanded for them to no longer send their trash to our home!

Tall , you're missing the whole point of this post . It's time for us to stop pointing the fingers at both of the bad guys as an excuse to vote for another bad guy . We need new un-tainted blood that doesn't have the old hand me down political conections that are breaking down the system . It would only take the threat of a third party taking their power away to get all parties back on track for America .
Is there something you don't understand about that ?
If a child is acting bad , you take away the candy . In this case , the candy is money , and votes .

Tall , I , being a uniom member for 29 years , have the right to b.i.t.c.h about The Democrats , and what they've been doing .
We used to have family values in this country .
We used to give our kids allowences for doing their chores around the house , instilling work ethics and values . If your child didn't do good in school , or didn't do the chores assigned them , they didn't get an allowence .
When the party that gets my money , without my choice , stops working on my behalf , I stop voting for them .
Now doesn't that sound like common sense ?

Tall Im the first to state when anyone doesnt use fact and tear someone down. The truth is far more important than any party!
When they pulled that crap on Howard Dean I became super angry and I did let the media as well as others know!
I vote both parties in lower offices, but upper offices I vote Republican because Im pro life and not pro kill.....

Shock,

Who's missing the point I have never heard you say one thing bad about the Republicans. Now you might want to try to spin it differently but I've been reading your stuff for almost two years now.

You expect the Democrats to be hands on in a strike, that's not what they do for the Union's. The fact Union's can strike is why the Union's are connected with the Democrats.

Without the Democrats, the unions would have simply been fired as the Republicans have insisted on. The right to work laws would be all over the country.

If you check into the right to work states you will find they are busier right now, but at what cost. I don't know if you want to go to work for eight bucks and hour why not move to one of those states?

Union's need support, and Democrats believe in fair pay for an honest day.

Steveisacartoon, you're an idiot if you truly believe that Republicans and Democrats are pro-life, pro-birth as our inlaws voted both REP. and DEMO. and both were pro-bith, so throw that crappola out the window statement that you're truly to impress everyone with. It's the right of the woman to make the decision, so let's not take that track off the fact of this blog. The DEM. appeared to have wandered in it's original intent, and this country needs to find another party line to follow so that the big bucks quit padding the pockets of the liars/thieves that are in or presently running.

In fact Tall , you wouldf vote for Joseph Stalin if he were on the ticket .
What an anti-American you reraly are .

Joseph Stalin was in the Russian Social-Democratic Workers Party (from which the Bolsheviks would later form). They are in no way anything like American Democrats.

Now getting back on track Shock what problem? I told you how the Democrats help. You think they should be out on the picket line with the workers. Wouldn't that be like the Republican helping to move the plants into other country's?

Now just how am I anti American?

libertarian political entity separate and distinct from all other political parties

Now if you are as you say a Libertarian why is it that you only post negative things about Democrats?

Because they only do negative things for this country Tall . That's pretty simple .
