Good Evening All,
Well, I watched Mayor Kilpatrick give the State of the City address today and I have to comment on a few things. First of all it was a great speech outlining all of the Good that he has done for the city and the good moving forward. I agree that he has done a good job at the Job of mayor of the city of Detroit. However as we all know he has put himself in a tight spot. But the last 5 minutes of the speech I think he needed to say not as the Mayor of Detroit but as a Man, A Husband, A Father and The head of his household. He was protecting his family. Heres the deal I don't care if Kym Worthy comes out and says that she is going to bring him up on perjury charges and he is eventually found guilty. NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DISRESPECT HIS FAMILY!!!! No matter what he may or may not have done it is disgusting and cowardice and deplorable for people black or white to send him and/or his family death threats or call him anything but what his parents named him. He is absolutely correct for taking that time to say what he said. I watched LET IT RIP and heard that Riddle guy say things about morals he is one to talk. Lets have a discussion about him and Monica Conyers. Then I turn to WDIV 4 and I listen to Carmen Harlans Comentary about the Mayor she started out good by essentially agreeing that it is inexcusable for any one to send death threats or call the Mayor BLEEP. Then she went in defense mode defending the media. Well what she said plays into exactly what Mayor Kilpatrick was talking about with the LYNCH MOB behavior. The media is pissed that he said "his children and the citys children is worth more than a Neilsen rating. So because they are pissed now they are going to use words to put in the mind of the people that he is guilty before proven. WDIV,Fox2, +WXYZ are all guilty of this. Listen Lets face facts the media is all about Neilsen ratings. Lets take for example two missing persons cases. Tara Grant (white) went missing February 8 2007 and Lizzie Mae Collier-Sweet (remember her! (black)) went missing January 8-9 2007 well starting February 9 2007 Tara Grant was the top story of dang near every newscast for a year. Found out her husband killed her. Still a top story. Lizzie Mae Collier-Sweet went missing a month before Tara and you rarely hear any thing about her case. Well people I said all of that to say if majority of the viewers watching the newcast weren't white and instead black Lizzie Mae Collier-Sweet would be the top story and not Tara Grant. Proving, all the media cares about are ratings if people didn't care about the Mayor Kilpatrick Drama you better believe they would not continue to report on the topic. So now that The Mayor has said something against the media he will pay.
In closing I will say I think the Media are dispicable. In my opinion if Kwame Kilpatrick is guilty of obstruction of justice with Tamara Green ( the Stripper) the media is currently just as disgusting and dispicable. I have faith in the Mayor and I am a supporter so keep doing good for the city and keep your hand out of the cookie jar.
