Fashion Standards Going a Little Too Far

Okay... look at this picture:



This is the Czech Victoria's Secret Model Karolina Kurkova. Here she is modeling a bikini at the Sao Paulo Fashion Week last week in my hometown, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Now look again and tell me, is she fat???

According to a Brazilian fashion critic, apparently she is. This girl has been getting harshly criticized in the fashion industry and even called "unprofessional" for showing up "sloppy, chubby, with love handles and cellulite."

Ok, who doesn't have at least a little bit of cellulite??? I think the girl looks healthy and could even use a few more pounds.... isn't that what people are supposed to look like?

Now, I've read a lot of about this yesterday, and saw people saying that for one of the highest paid top models in the world, she should be looking flawless and she is not up to catwalk standards.... I happen to think that catwalk standards should be the same standards as any human being's standards. If catwalk standards mean looking anorexic and sick, then the fashion industry's message is a very, very ugly one. That's just sad.

Now what I really wanted to see was a picture of each and everyone of the people saying that girl is fat... I'm sure they are gorgeous, right?

She just needs to tone up a bit in the booty is all. Models choose their profession and they know the standards required for that profession, so I don`t think it`s unfair when they are dissed for not keeping the standards. No one has forced them to participate.

F_D, we would have told her not to worry about here weight, as it's "all behind her now", and that he Mom told her to keep an eye on her weight, and she did, "it's right in front where she can see it".

She is by far, not fat nor heavy. She is a woman who seems to have quit working out, and it's beginning to show. Perhaps it was because she didn't have time to work out as she was laying in bed, counting her millions she was paid by fashion designers to make their products look good.

I say, HAVE ANOTHER DOUGHNUT, SWEETIE".

The model is not fat. I hope most people realize how phony the fashion industry is and do not take things too seriously. Art is subjective, but casting people into skinny serves no one.

Who cares about what the "fashion" industry stadardizes? The whole industry is fake, fake, fake. They lie to themselves horkin up their last meal and say they're healthy. They look at someone thin, albeit not as toned as she used to be and toss her to the wolves. Tyra Banks slams girls on her model show, then on her talk show, big is beautiful. Seriously, who really cares about the fashion industry? They're treated like meat because they put theselves on display as if on a butcher's counter. I'm sure this woman as enough money to pay a shrink if her feelings are hurt....

RLTW175, you're right Tyra attacked the guy who makes the vidoes "girls gone wild, but she exploits the young girls on her t.v. show America's next top model, if they don't pose nude then she eliminates them. She's a real hypocrite.
