Unfortunately, I think it is going to be a long time before we see any concrete action. Most of our society has adopted the senseless fear of offending anybody and the sad habit of trying to pass responsibility onto anyone but themselves (see the Inflatable Toy incident mother). In the mean time, while we keep working hard to pay for publicly funded language interpreters at our libraries and DMV's and while we argue about how to handle the immigration disease without "stepping on anybody's toes", the Illegal's keep pumping out "Anchor Children" (that we pay for) to ensure that they will present a dilemma when we try to export them in the future.
The fact that Obama just made a speech (in one of the “57 states” that he has visited) saying that we need to “teach our kids to speak Spanish instead of expecting the Illegals to learn English” only highlights the hopelessness of any immediate solution.
I would refuse to pay taxes until something is done, but I know that the Government would be right on top of me and would send me to prison immediately, even while they have no ability to verify the validity of the countless counterfeit SSN’s used by the Mexicans.
I think that the only thing that can be done (and I do this regularly) is to refuse to deal with an employee who doesn’t speak English. Yeah, I know, I am an inconsiderate/non-PC/insensitive Azz, but my ancestors where denied entry to this country until they knew American history, could speak English fluently, and had a means to support themselves (no, they didn’t have the Welfare handouts that the Somalians and Mexica

The immigration topic is very prevalent, why is the talk soo cheap?! if you can talk the talk, why not walk the walk? we all know that nothing is going to be done about it, so why even try? don't fight it, just let it happen.
Make your vote count, if you don't like it do something about it. Making an obvious statement, and complaining about it, but yet doing nothing about it is cowardly!

It would be different if the Obamanation were even aware of the instances when they contradict themselves within a time frame as short as 30 seconds. I can't give any credibility to a candidate who doesn't have the simple presence of mind to realize when he's stepping on his own toes.
Last night, Obama chided McCain's cabinet member for saying that America has "become a nation of whiners", and then proceeded to outline how individual citizens shouldn't be to blame when they don't achieve anything in their lives (it is the government's fault). This is a patent example of whining.
SS follows along these footsteps by making an attempted jab at "Communists who don't know how to Photoshop". Obama is a self-admitted Socialist/Communist who is running under the guise of the Democratic party. Was SS trying to insult his own favorite candidate by saying that he doesn't know how to Photoshop?

I'm not a twin brother, just one of the apparently few people left that can comprehend common sense and blatant logic.
I agree that the Obamanation will chop its own toes off (especially with the help of the “Great Intellectuals” like SuddenSpurt1492), but I would say that they are already well on there way. The whole Obamanation campaign reminds me of a dying fish on the beach.
-It smells
-It moves its mouth without really saying anything
-It doesn’t have a leg to stand on
-It lacks a solid backbone
-It doesn’t have a very damaging bite
-It is very slimy, and just when you think you have it settled (i.e. committed to a position) it squirms into a completely different position.
-You would like to help it because it obviously can’t figure out how to help itself, but it is so far gone that you just occasionally jab it with a stick and watch it flop aimlessly around. The amazement comes from seeing how long you can agitate it until it ultimately dies.
-After it dies, there will always be somebody that will claim that it was a “victim” and that the ocean is at fault for its demise.
