That is my daughter, Faith, on the right.  She knew I was trying to get her attention for the picture, and she was IGNORING me!  Last night, she was in a hoops competition with some other kids from her school....of course, I was there with my camera, wanting to capture every moment.  Right before this photo was taken, I was saying "Faith" a few times to get her to look up.  When I got no response, I took the pic anyway....but then we were walking out and this is what she said:

"Mom, that was soooo embarrassing!"

Wow, I think I am officially OLD.  I can't believe I am embarrassing to my kids.  I thought I was still cool!!

Oh yeah, she tells me later that they were standing there talking...and her friend was saying "I think your mom is trying to take your picture" and Faith was like "oh, well let's just stand here and be natural and maybe she won't".....I have definitely lost my coolness!

Michelle, that is our place in life. To embarass our teenaged kids. I can't wait until my kids have kids and they get to experience it. I will be laughing all the way as I spoil my grandkids. My parents sure did!

Hey Mechany...guess that's just how it is. Only thing is, I thought I had a few more years left before it started! Faith is only 11...just this morning, she wakes up and sees me and starts begging to wear THE SHIRT THAT I HAD ON!! I gave it to her (of course) and just had to laugh. This is such an interesting age!!

Well from the mind of someone with a kids mind I say you still have your cool..Because in my book you are one cool mom.....

Your daughter is a teen and teens think there cool but rely there not there just wird till they get out the teen years...

Yep I know about this stuff and belive me your still have your cool and your daughter has now become a wird teen as they all do...

When she hits 18 she will start to come out of that wird thing and start to be a adult..

Me I am stuck in mind as a kid but hey i think that is great because I always see things as new and always have fun....

And I will never be old mind wise gee I got it made....

Been there done that. Finally told my child if you think what I do is embarrassing you wait until the next time. The next time something came up. I embarrassed my son to no end. That was the last time I got the MOM YOUR EMBARRASSING ME crap. Now I can't get him off of the camera. He must have 500 pics of himself on this computer.

You think this is just with teens? My ten year old grandson is embarrased by his mom and especially me. OMG, been seen with my grandma AND my mom together. You just ruined my life.
your turn will be coming when they embarrass you. And then it will start all over again when their kids embarrass them. I am sure it has been happening since the beginning of man (and woman). Hang in there my friend. We think you are awesome.

That is funny michelle, my kids are like that sometimes even at home when their friends aren't even there..lol But than there are times it's all about wanting my attention in public or with their friends around so kids are just silly and go through phases. Hang in there girl she still loves ya..lol

I have a great time trying to embarrass my girls! Actually they are pretty good sports. For the most part I'm not a dork and all their friends love me.

When Jeff & I really want to get them, he'll kiss me!

Hey Michelle, suzseeq hit the nail on the head. In time, you'll go through it with your son too. Only I don't think he'll do it as bad your daughter. Yes, it really does make you feel uncool but eventually it passes. Maybe in about another 7 years. At least it took my daughter till she was 18 to start liking me again. LOL!!!

LOL, Michelle! When my daughter was 3 (yes, 3!) I picked her up to put her in the shopping cart at Target and she looked at me and said "Mom, you are embarrassing me!"
So, apparently I have been considerably less than cool for some time!! lol

It is just a phase Michelle. Kids Faith age really don't know what REAL embarrassment is yet.

Coolness comes and goes but blood is thicker than water...(I just made that up)!

Is it a phase that she will one day outgrow. I am NOT looking forward to those days at all...... Good luck! LOL! Hayl has already started the not wanting daddy around or to know certain things.

You may seem uncool now but when she is grown and looks back and reflects on all these pics that you have taken and she remembers those moments. She will see that you were indeed cool to capture all of those memories for her to show her children one day.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore....and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past; there's a reason they didn't make it to your future. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle! ~m
