Ah yes we are in luck, the gas prices are dropping daily, like the leaves from the mighty oak tree.

But has anyone noticed that as the prices fall, so doesn't the MILEAGE PER TANK .

Yes just as we thought, they finally were going to do something good for us, by dropping the prices, instead they have also made it so the mileage per tankful has dropped also.

See when the gas was $4.50 a gallon, a full tank of gas would run, about $65.00,

however out of that $65.00, a full tank netted about 425 miles.

Now the gas is around $2.25 a gallon and a full tank running around $30.00 ,however out of the $30.00 a full tank nets about 305 miles.

So as we go to the pumps today to fill up, and say "WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW CHEAP THIS STUFF HAS GOTTEN"

Try and figure out your own gas mileage, you'll be surprised, that now instead of once

a week going to the gas station, you are going in the beginning of the week and again at the end of the week.

That's right it's drawing to a close,only 5 days left.
Actually okay it's 4.5 days before we have total freedom, back on our TV's, freedom from the name calling, freedom from the
Snake Oil Salesmen, that "PROMISE TO FIX WHAT AILS YA"
FREEDOM FROM THE INFOMERCIALS.
What are we going to do? how will we cope?
No more my name is and I approve this message.
If only I had a VCR, so I could tape these now, then I could go back and RE-RUN them during the cold winter nights.
This election, if that's what we want to call it,
has been HARD FOUGHT, so they say.
I don't know about anyone else but usually when someone says
"It was hard fought", doesn't someone end up BLACK AND BLUE?
This hasn't been hard fought instead all it's been is name calling, and promises that will never be kept.
I don't know about anyone else,all I do know is I can't wait until NOVEMBER 5th.

So now our political leaders, are busy mulling over and messing their hair, over another law they feel needs to be put on the books.

It's called THE MOVE OVER LAW

It seems another State Trooper was hit while performing his duties by a suspected

"DRUNK DRIVER" .

So now after this latest incident, the politicians feel the need to create another law,

that says "If you don't move over when you see a police officer doing their jobs, they can give you a ticket"

My problem with this is simple, probably to simple for our ELECTED OFFICIALS,

it is this: WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO COMMON SENSE?

When people learnt how to drive didn't the instructer say "give the right of way to police, fire, and so on.

Now instead of burning the midnight candle on the hill over this, wouldn't it make more sense to really do something about all the DRUNK DRIVERS on the roads?

Why aren't we all UP IN ARMS over the lack of punishment these drivers get.

You can read any newspaper court reports and you will usually find at least one

where the driver finally goes away after their 5th time DRUNK DRIVING.

As I do feel for this trooper and all the other police officers that this has happened to.

We don't need another LAW FROM OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS

WHAT WE NEED IS IMMEDIATE PUNISHMENT FOR THE

DRUNK DRIVING THAT IS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL

Ah yes another season has drawn to a close, a season of the husstle and bustle of tourists racing to the bridges, to invade the cape.

A season where the traffic is a nightmare, and the seasoned drivers even have to think twice before venturing out on the roads.

A season where the dogs aren't allowed on the beaches because the tourists are afraid they'll step in something other than seaweed.

A season where the locals have to plan days in advance when they are going to go food shopping, so they're not standing in lines while they're Ice Cream melts, while the tourists, wonder what a scan saver card is used for.

Yes once again the cape is ours, the roads are free, you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder to see if an out of state driver is reading a map while barreling down route 6.

Now the only other time we must gear up for is LEAF PEEPING SEASON.

But NOW THE CAPE IS OURS.

So it has come down to this.

The pain is stronger than before because now the person is related, and not just a name

you read or hear.

Everyone always thinks it will never happen to them, that they are invincible.

However as we all know, everyone is human.

It's sad to watch as this sickness takes hold, takes hold of someone you always thought could never be beaten.

Takes hold of someone you always thought was like Superman.

This sickness doesn't care what size, or make-up of a person you are, it just grabs hold and doesn't let go.

Now as I see my Dad, the HERO OF MY LIFE, just lie there trying to remain calm, comfortable, and whatever else, we see that they are trying everything, however this

sickness just WON'T LET GO.

As sad as this is, the only thing we can do is watch, watch as our HERO, falls.

Come on Superman keep fighting, fight for all you've got, because we're not ready to

see the end of this fight.

I am always wondering, why when people get caught doing something wrong, they always come to court and say "I'M INNOCENT I DIDN'T DO IT"

These people get caught "dead to right" and they say "I'm innocent"

Here we have drunk drivers, getting pulled over, failing the field sobriety tests, and getting arrested, then they go to court and say "I'M INNOCENT THE POLICE HAVE THE WRONG MAN/WOMAN"

Here we have  an elected official caught ON CAMERA stealing money from copy machines, yet he goes to court and says"I'M INNOCENT I DIDN'T DO IT THEY HAVE THE WRONG MAN"

These are just two of many examples of people ABUSING THE SYSTEM, wasting the courts time, wasting the taxpayers time.

All the while claiming "I'M INNOCENT I DIDN'T DO IT"

Is this where society has gone, where people can't take responcibility for their actions?

Don't you think if they just admitted to their wrong doing, they may be looked at like

okay they have a problem maybe we can help?

So here it is the state's latest brainstorm, being kicked around at the state house.

They are trying to pass a No Price Marking On Items.

They figure this will save the customers so much money, because they figure

without items being marked, there is less chance of a screw up, (item being marked wrong)

ARE THEY KIDDING OR WHAT?

DO THEY REALLY THINK WE ARE THAT CHALLENGED THAT WE WILL HOPE THIS PASSES?

THEY SAY "WE'RE DOING THIS FOR THE CUSTOMER"

Oh god, like anyone should believe that.

The only reason they are RUNNING THIS UP AND DOWN THE FLAGPOLE, is because

they hope the supermarket's will give enough in the envelope for it to pass.

No good can come from this, by passing this is the beginning of eliminating more jobs

at an allready short staffed grocery business.

See by eliminating price marking you also take away jobs, what used to take a 4 or 5 man night crew to put the stock up, now can be done with 3. Because you won't be marking, all you'll be doing is cutting and throwing.

When asked SAY NO TO NO PRICE MARKING, THE JOB YOU SAVE COULD BE YOUR OWN.

As we sit here, reading and listening to the daily news, I'm just wondering

how the people got together and had the origional Boston Tea Party?

When did they finally decide, they had had enough?

Did they pass out flyers, stating their intentions or was it just word of mouth?

How did they decide what was to be tossed?

So now with these questions, what if we had a "TEA PARTY OF 2008",

what would we toss? How many people could we get to help?

Why is it people forget how to drive in the summer?

I mean here I am a resident of the cape, and I can't count how many people forget how to drive in the summer.

People going down route 6, in the high speed lane, doing 55 mph.

God help us if they see a car 6 or more lenghs ahead of them, all of the sudden they jump on the brakes.

WHY PEOPLE WHY?

Then you have people going down route 28 (the main road on the cape), slowing down

at every shopping plaza, looking for sales.

Guess what people, if you actually pull over to the side of the road, and that doesn't mean just pulling into the right lane, if you pull over then you can read the map.

women driving while putting on make-up,

why would you want to put on make-up while driving, with all the potholes, and bumps

I would think the make-up would end up looking like Bozo the clowns face.

People driving with their left foot hanging out of the driver's window.

Not for nothing, but if you have to stop quick,or you get hit head-on what happens to that

leg of yours?

Remember people: THINGS IN MOTION TEND TO STAY IN MOTION, UNTIL MET WITH A GREATER FORCE.

Then driving south and all of the sudden saying" oh my god I really want to go north I think I'll just turn right here.

Directionals, are not an option people, they come with the car can we use them?

Oh driving on the cape in the summer, it's not just a job, it's an adventure.

So I'm just wondering, WHY DO PEOPLE FORGET HOW TO DRIVE IN THE SUMMER?

So now we have the latest in end all cure all solutions, for what ails ya in the bedroom.

It's WATERMELON, yes you heard it right it's WATERMELON.

No need for little blue pills, magic lotions, or brown paper wrapped videos.

Instead just run to your local grocery store and tell them "I WANT MY DAILY DOSE OF WATERMELON".

Who would have thought, a fruit, grown in gardens, by just about anyone, would have so much power?

I'm just wondering who did the study on this? How were the voulenteer's chosen for this?

Could you picture the help wanted ad:

WANTED SUBJECTS TO FEEL THE EFFECTS OF WATERMELON

How much money was spent on this study?

Oh by the way, while at the grocery store today, you should have seen the line at the WATERMELONS.

Husbands,wives, girlfriends, whatever,all whispering,pointing, gasping,

the produce clerks, couldn't believe it, they had to call for a second delivery from the warehouse.

So remember no need to call the doctor, call the lawyer, call your father if you can't perform anymore, instead just run to your local supermarket and tell them

"GIVE ME MY WATERMELON, I'LL TAKE MINE WITH SEEDS

Thank God the fiasco is over,

That sad excuse for "if  you pay enough  we'll defend anyone  trial."

However Fox 25 and all their reporters, anchors/anchoress's proved why they have such

a huge following.

Way to go everyone at Fox 25, it only proves you guys/gals are number 1 in the eyes of all your fans.

It was amazing how much professionalism their was especially when the verdict was given, and then his parents started their tyrate.

I actually thought if they could (Maria &Mark) were going to reach through the camera

and slap some sense into the two of them.

Again way to go, keep up the great job.

Hopefully we don't have to suffer through another fiasco like that in the near future.

As I sit here this morning, reading the Newspaper, I look over an article

that say's Town A is going to have to LAYOFF TEACHERS,FIREFIGHTERS, TOWN WORKERS, AND Whatever else, because the town is scared, the Override will not pass and they will be over budget and run out of money.

My question is this: If we as average people miss a payment, go over on our bank account, or just don't have enough to pay our bills, what happens?

That's right, they (the banks) charge you fees to cover your account, the phone starts ringing off the hook, from collectors, you get booted from your residence, or the power

gets cut off.

However if our Elected officials, mess up the state budget, town budget, or whatever

what happens to them?

That's right NOTHING, NOTHING HAPPENS, BECAUSE they come out and give us a lame excuse as to why they need more money, they tell us they promise to use the money for repairs, and finally we just keep RE-ELECTING THEM TO REPRESENT US.

            WHY IS THAT?

  Well it's official,

school has ended for another year, so now here they come,

yes they are arriving by the day  IT'S BUFF AND BIFFY, IN THEIR SHINING BEEMER'S

with the Polo shirts, and Cardigan Sweaters around their necks.

I tried to stop by Starbucks to get my morning cup of coffee, however the line was out to the parking lot, the cell phones ringing, the Beemer's idleing, and the Latte's flowing.

I ended up going to  Dunkin's with all the other common folk.

Good God , the way they drive, you would think they own the roads.

They just push by you with their nose's so far in the air.

I can't wait till summer is over, so we can finally have the cape back to ourselves.

It was funny though, there I was standing in the Supermarket and Buff's phone rang

it was Biffy, the conversation went a little like this" BIFFY  BUFF HERE , YES OH NO WAY

WAY NO WAY REALLY OH REALLY OH , BIFFY I SHOULD BE HERE ABOUT ANOTHER

10 MINUTES OR SO, THEN I'LL MEET YOU FOR DINN DINN,

LOVE YOU MUFFIN,"

   GO HOME JUST GO HOME

This is the Theme Song for all the gas and oil companies.

Instead of having corporate music piped through the loud speakers at the stores,

they are now piping the song "WE CAN GO HIGHER, YEAH YEAH YEAH OH WE CAN GO HIGHER"

See the problem with this is ,we as consumers although we may yell, rant, rave, and gripe

about the prices we do nothing to change them.

We act like"cows going to the slaughter house" we just follow the cow in front of us.

Now before everyone jumps up,stomps their feet, and screams

"the legendkiller is calling us cows" think about it, all we do is yell and scream for a

few moments, then we just grab the nozzle and start pumping.

All the while the oil CEO's are just watching the dollar signs spin out of control.

These elected officials that we have put in have done what for us?

That's right nothing, why?

Corporate interest that's why.

As someone once said to me"why would you spend over $10 million dollars, to get elected to a job that only pays you just over $200 thousand a year?

Yesterday 6/10/08 the mobil gas station in Mashpee was 3.99 a gallon for 87percent

gas.

the place was packed, pump after pump, going going going, last night at 9:15pm

the same gas was $4.15 a gallon, a 16 cent increase, and today 6/11/08

the same gas station was packed again .

Pump after pump, just flowing like the rapids over a dam.

Where is the outrage, why aren't people doing more to stop this?

IT'S BECAUSE WE ARE LIKE COW'S GOING TO THE SLAUGHTER HOUSE

WE JUST KEEP FOLLOWING THE COW IN FRONT OF US

Ah yes the first official weekend of the summer,is drawing to a close.

As some of the tourists, are making their "MASS EXODUS" from the cape, they have

encountered a 15 MILE BACK-UP.

Are you kidding? 15 Miles of bumper to bumper cars, kids screaming, "mommy, daddy are we there yet", parents yelling at each other" I told you if we left later this wouldn't have happened".

15 miles, whew thank god they put the "FLY-OVER UP".

15 miles and that's not even an emergency exodus, like a Hurricane or something else,

15 miles just for one regular weekend on the cape.
