If you live in the state of Michigan and you feel bad about Detroit what are you doing to help? This city represents this state.
I feel that this city is the heart of the state.
We need to come together black, white, brown or yellow.
It really hurts to see just how much we have all turned on each other since the Kwame scam. Kwame is only one man and we have allowed him to do so much damage.
I'm thankful that I have this site, some of you guys help me to see the light. I wanted Kwame to stay at first but now I want him gone. I feel like since this whole entire mess has happen we have turn this into a black or white ordeal and its really a right and wrong ordeal.
If you live in Warren,Madison Heights, Troy, Clawson just in Michigan (U.S.A)period I love you. This is not a time for hate or to put each other down.
May god be with you and your family.

isupportdetroit,

You love me?? I was born and raised in Clawson. You are right, BUT, it was Kwame and before him Colman Young that drove that stake between Detroit and the Suburbs. It wasn't the Burbs. For over 30 years there was hate from Detroit's Government. Am I wrong, please tell me.

BYE-BYE
Like I said you guys have shown me alot on this site. One of the things that has been said to me over and over is let the past go.
You say 30 years ago. You say Coleman Young well he is dead now. We are alive we can make a difference.
It hurts my feeling to see just how many people are scared to come to Detroit, scared for there lifes.
If one person can take a stand we can follow.

Yes, again you're right, but like I've said and I'm sure others will agree, Kwame hate speeches are out of line and he used Detroiters. I think you see that?

Are you making reference to the 'N' word in the speech?

Also remeber that Kwame does not speak for all of Detroit.

Well, as Mayor he does. I know not all Detroiters think that. He embaressed your city. Detroiter's need to find a person to bridge that gap between the burbs and the city.

I don't get why you just say Detroit needs to find someone?
If you live in Michigan this is your city too.

Sorry, No. I left the State because I didn't want to pay high taxes and I don't want my kids to see the crime on TV everyday.
My kids are both 4.0 students and in a school system were they can go to college while in high school and it's free. The State pays for it by lottery sale. This State is Florida. The school system here is leap and bounds from Michigan. Education needs to be fixed in Michigan too.
I went to a State where my kids will excel and not be held back by budget cuts. I turned down a job in Michigan that pays $75K to Flordia where I make a $85K plus my military retirement that brings me to 100K+ and my homestead is 50k on my house on the beach. By the way there's NO state income tax here.

Well thats good for you.
There is crime everywhere.
There are also good schools where you will excel even in the city of Detroit (no there is not many but a few) but I get you point.
You said you used to live in Clawson, that city is a good place to live or at least I thought it was. It does not seem like Clawson has alot of crime.

Good post isupport. I hope it doesn't take as many years to lose the US and THEM mentality as it took to build it. I'll be long dead.

MIDEVIL
SORRY ITS NOT ABOUT tongue that whipped and backlashed "every blogger. THE POINT IS TO LEARN FROM EVERY USER ON THIS SITE. OF COURSE WE DON'T ALL SEE EYE TO EYE BUT WHO DOES. I WOULD LIKE TO BREAK THE MOLD OF THE BATTLE BETWEEN DETROIT & THE BURBS ( WE ALL OUR PART OF MICHIGAN). I SEE IT AS IF WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE NOT JUST THIS CITY A BETTER PLACE BUT OUR STATE A BETTER PLACE.

bye-bye,shock,jax and mid.Hey all hope you guy's and your families are all well and happy. isupport, good blog and hope detroit does get back on it's feet but sorry to say it may take many, many yrs. Hope it start's with kwame getting some serious jail time and cleaning house down the line. I like bye-bye left Mi. I'm 57 was raised in detroit and moved to Warren over 25yr's ago. Moved to a rural area in Tennessee last November.I wish I had left many yrs ago when my kids were young but my daughter and her 2 girls are here, the oldest [19]is d.jaying at a local radio sta. the youngest 8 loves the school and is in a class with 15 others compared to 27 kids in warren. The people here are beautiful black as well as white and 99% will say hi or at least nod their heads when passing. I too have good memories of detroit but sad to say those days will never come back and I don't see detroit as being half the city that it once was, but we can't turn back time and things have changed all over. No ill feeling's on any word's we've had, sometimes we agree sometimes not but it's good to get other's insight on topics. The best to you and your's.

Rita,

Do you remember telling you, you will enjoy it better there? It's a different world and it's truely a better place. Like I've said, I lived all over the country and by far Detroit is last on my list. I truely wish I never went back, but I did it for family. It only took my 3 years to leave.
Enjoy Tennessee, I like it there. People are nicer and everyone waves or says, "Hi"

i'm a 26year old female. i live in detroit. i have lived in detroit my entire life (almost). i work two jobs (one as a personal asst. and one as a call center rep). i'm not on welfare. i do not have a house full of kids. i don't have one child to be real. i don't live with my mother and i have not since the age of 21. i come from a well balanced background. i go to on line college ( which i know people put you down for, but there was no money for me to go to school, thanks bush). i have been working in the state since age 15. i am proud to live in the city of detroit. to all you people that think all people that live in my city are on welfare, not true. i will tell the truth after my father was murder on the streets of detroit my family and i were on welfare. my mother went back to college (u of d mercy) so she could support us later. this was over ten years ago that we went through my father's death and welfare. so sometimes welfare is a stepping stone to get up a hill. my mother has now once again went back to school, and has worked for michigan health board for seven years, as a social worker.
