I was hired as a cook at the American Legion post here in town and when It became payday (2 wks later) She(the head of the Legion..she is a part of the Marines)told me...Didn't anyone tell you that this was Voluntary?? OMG!! I didn't get paid and was told to submit a letter and send it to the local commander and I did and he said There wasn't anything he could do! If I had a regular job then I would have volunteered my cooking,cleaning etc..But I was going to use this on my boys for(yes again) christmas..It would have helped us out weekly..I put up with a lot of crap from her..She made the Marines look really bad..the way she treats everyone! I put up with it so I could get something decent for my boys..oh well..they understand they are teenagers..I also took in one of my teens friends and when he left so did my kmart card(this is in another blog i wrote about)anyway..the other girls working there said they didnt get paid either but someone actually saw them get paid and are still working there getting paid! I was a very health conscience person..one time a meat patty fell on the floor so i threw it out and the other cook picked it out of trash and cooked it! I told her not to but she said they were in a hurry! also they've had complaints about her food not being cooked all the way..but she's still there! anyway...thanks all for letting me vent..I haven't anyone to talk to about this..They are scared to death someone is going to call osha on them and they'd get a surprise visit from them..I haven't mentioned anything! btw..I AM a great cook! I've even cooked at "Porky's"...I'm known as the "poor Rachael Ray" around here!! I have collected all kinds of recipes and experimented with all kinds of food..I do so love to cook!! tc..gb..evelyn..PLEASE WRITE ME BACK...I'm from south roxana, Illinois...about 20 mins away from st.louis

I've tried everything possible and can't get any help with this!

I bought a 50.00 merchandise card from K-mart and somebody stole it from me..maybe to some people this is a "drop in the bucket" to them, but not us...Anyway It was purchased with my fiance's Mastercard and I have all kinds of receipts and proof etc....we had purchased it because of the special where you get one for 50.00 they give you a free 10.00 card also...Well the big card was missing out of my purse but the 10.00 one was still there! Go Figure! I was going to use those for my boys for christmas too! Thieves have no conscience! Anyway...Noone will do anything about this! I think someone should do something! Not fair! My fiance' doesn't have the platinum card so they say it's not covered! oh well...Merry christmas and happy and safe New year all!! from across the bridge in Illinois...evelyn
