Old FoolsWatching and listening to John McCain on the campaign trail, shadows that of a doddering old fool that is out of touch with a world. With his comments on the war, economy, healthcare and fuel prices, raises the question; “Which America does he live in, the America of the powerful and privileged, or the America that the rest of us live in?” He admits he doesn’t know anything about the economy, you know the very thing that collapsed the Soviet Union. He has no personal experience regarding healthcare, as tax dollars has been paying for his healthcare since the day he was born in a naval hospital. His only real calm is his military experience is Vietnam. It wasn’t his military superiority that elected him Senator, but the pity of being a POW.

Fear of terrorism is what re-elected George Bush, and John McCain is “Capitalizing” on the same fear to elect him. Can America survive 8 more years of foreign / corporate lobbying and the fleecing of the American people? I don’t think so. We need a president that protects America’s interest first, and the rest of the world’s investment into corporate America second. Allowing internal and external markets to take over our sovereign nation is the same as opening our doors to the enemy.

The prospect of Senator John McCain in the oval office is scary for several reasons. 1) He already looks like he is faltering physically. Every President has aged rapidly after being elected I guess because of all the stress , long hours and other physical and mental demands Could he stand the strain? 2)
he seems to be trying to relive the Vietnam War in Iraq. His only focus seems to be aggression. Didn't anyone tell him we didn't save Vietnam? Ask all the Vietnamese and Hmong refugees who live on Detroit's east side and in Roseville. I wouldn't be suprised if he didn't resort to the draft. Remember, he's prepared to remain in Iraq for 100 years if necessary. He's also prepared to take on Afghanistan and Iran if he follows the path that Pres. Bush has left. And don't forget Korea. Our military forces are already stretched beyond capacity. He seems to be in a constant state of pissivity(always grumpy) when he's asked uncomfortable questions. I s ymphathize with his Vietcong imprisonment and thank him for his service. But that doesn't qualify him for President.

Contined 3) Senator McCain has a history of using his Senate seat to influence the public on behalf of corporations and lobbyists. He has shown that his services can be bought for money and affection; The Keating 5 scandal where he received 112,000 to intervene on behalf of the Keating&Lincoln Savings&Loan Bank. The bank collapsed. McCain admitted to :"using poor Judgement" and was let off. This "poor Judgement by McCain and the other 4 bi-partisan senators cost tax payers over 3Billion dollars. The second case was with his alledged girlfriend Vicki, a young lobbyist who solicited his intervention on behalf of a media group, needing FCC approval on a TV project. McCain drafted 2 letters(at her direction of the draft) to the FCC. That agency's chairman "in a rare move, admonished McCain for his inappropiate actions." As president he would have access to power that could be very dangerous if compromised by a weak leader. These are just a few of the reasons I question this candidate's capacity to lead the nation.

i guess whom ever we are voting for we can twist what the other canidate says to fit our thinking. mccain is too old, obama is too young, mccain have been around for 30 years(old) mr obama have not experience but yet he have beaten the clintons. two former president have endorse mr obama with a vice-president thrown in for good luck..mccain supporters you really think this man is going to do better than president bush if he believe the same issues as the president. the surge is working so what we would not need a surge if their was no war in the first place get it.the republican have this problem no matter what you say or do. the country is in such a bad shape the american people is willing to give mr obama a chance.we have been at war since bush took office everythink have gone up since he took office. mccain is the same. you can not change anything if you have the same old people in the same old jobs doing the same old thinks. mccain says he been in this for 30 years thats the problem its not experience it complacent. just think he had 30 years to get the job done and yet we still talking about what he could do.

The Republican party has an agenda for a NEW middle East and they are going after it with gusto. They already want permanent military bases in Iraq. They have been trying to figure out a way to go to war with Iran.If they have their way Syria and other midde Eastern countries better watch their back too. That is one of many reasons to put a Democrat in the White House.I believe it to be the lesser of 2 EVILS.Democrats are not going to be overnight heroes that turn things around ,but this world can not take another 4 years of Republican rule, and don't be fooled, they do want to Rule at whatever the cost, including your sons and daughters in a future military draft.

Neither Senator Obama nor Senator McCain know all about everything. Both have their strengths and growth areas. I'm waiting to find out who each will pick as their running mate, and then vote the party. However, I'm a little reluctant to vote democrat for fear of higher taxes and some other issues that the democrats support that scare me.

Hey, Doug - your picture reminds me Michael J. Fox, the actor. Have you ever received that feedback?

Good post Chick. Can't believe others have not been all over you. Looks like McCain is looking for his favorite CHINESE food. Cream of some young guy. Bush must still have some on his shirt.
