$600 Stimulus Money Trail?

Stimulus Package Money Trail -- Douglas ChickGovernment Rebate Check Money Trail

1. The Feds send every tax payer a $600 rebate.
2. Taxpayers purchase merchandise made in China.
3. Taxpayers purchase gas from the Arabs.
4. Taxpayers purchase fruit and vegetables from Mexico, Honduras.
5. Taxpayers purchase cars from Japan. 

 
What part of the $600 actually stimulates the American Economy?

Hey Doug, good point, but...How does it help the American economy when they take your stimulus check for debts (i.e. child support arrears, balance due IRS, etc.)? With so many people unemployed who can't even put food on their table, the government "gives" you this stimulus money to help the American economy then take it away from you! While I agree child support SHOULD be paid (FYI - my ex is some $35,000 in arrears!) most Americans need this stimulus money just to survive. While I would LOVE to spend my stimulus check on something "frivolous", I will use it to put food on my table and provide a roof over my child's head, for another month or two (

dbgbbns...AMEN TO THAT!!! How can this be a stimulant when so many people really NEED some extra cash just to put food on the table or pay utilities or buy their prescription drugs??? The housing crisis, the failing auto industry...the only economy this will stimulate is the one where there isn't any red ink.

When rice, beans and coffee hit the roof (as it has)...I'd do good to break even.

Not just the poor people, but people who make over 6 figures won't get as much or nothing at all too.
