I was a union member for many years with a well known railroad. Never did we come even close to the salary UAW workers get and we made good money. I believe the Big 3 should have to file Chapter 11 and completely restructure from the top down. Bring all to the table and reach an agreement. Our country's economy is on edge and this is no time for "games". If all the upper management were fired without millions for doing such a terrible job and replaced with average salaries and above all, UAW has to make some concessions. Their salaries and benefits have to be lowered. They don't run the White House and they don't run the country. Closed shop unions have no place in todays economic crunch. Workers in the Southern states make much less for the same work and are apparently doing a much better job. It's disgraceful for management to hold out their hands and take millions, even more disgraceful for the Board of Directors to offer them millions while they all fly on their corporate jets to attend their lavish parties and the companies are floundering. Then they all fly to DC with their hands out for OUR money.
