PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Police say militants have blown up a girls school and 10 shops in northwestern Pakistan. There were no casualties.
Police official Farman Khan said the attacks happened before dawn Friday in two separate areas of the troubled Swat valley.
Authorities in May signed a peace deal with militants in Swat, ending months long military operations against them.
The militants promised to halt attacks against security forces.
Violence has significantly decreased in Swat since then, but militants have returned from the mountains and reasserted their influence over parts of the valley and resumed attacks.
Some Islamic hard-liners are opposed to the education of women.

Growing up in the 1960's and 1970's I never would have imagined I would be embarrassed to be from Michigan,but as every year goes by times get tougher for good people (and there are alot of good people here in Michigan).I know it is hard for younger people to imagine,but when I was a boy we didn't lock our doors (until the late 60's when riots broke out in neighboring Detroit).I know I didn't understand when we would go into Detroit we would lock our car doors in fear.I would wonder what was going to happen?Would we be assaulted?Murdered?Watching the news I'd see a war overseas.A country unsure of its future.There was plenty of history here good and bad,and it has been pretty well documented.But it was a very exciting time to grow up.I now feel a profound sadness to live and be from Michigan.Iam happy that I'm not a teenager in 2008.When I was a younger man there was opportunity,hope,and a belief in love,peace ,and the hope for a wonderful future for all.It is truly hard for me to watch the news(or many of the other information sources available today).Our privacies have been stripped down,we have to have camera's watching everything and everybody.We are in a technological abundence of resource and ideas ,but I still don't see our state prospering,and it is frustrating.Do you have faith in our politicians?PLEASE WHAT A JOKE.Ask the man in the street,or the people on the internet.How do you feel about being from Michigan?I'm sure people around the world are looking in on the situation here in Michigan,and it is NOT A JOKE,It is reality people.What should we do?I would love to hear ideas and opinions from you.

If Obama hood-winks Americans, as he seems to have done with Europeans, with all this lofty, empty retoric, the ONLY way he can pay for all of this is with the implementation of even higher and higher taxes. This has been, over and over, his only constant theme of the entire campaign. In order to even attempt to accomplish such things, Obama would, as a matter of necessity, have to raise the taxes on Americans to an even greater level than those he is already spouting. This over and above his "Great Give Away" to the United Nations through the "Global Proverty Act" whereby he wants to hand over to The United Naitons a sum equal to 0.2% of the entire U.S. Gross National Product (GNP) to be used to "fight proverty around the world". In the fisical year 2007, this would amount to nothing less than $835 BILLION DOLLARS. or a TAX on EACH and EVERY AMERICAN of $1800!!! Just hand it over.. no strings, no followup, no oversight.. After all, everyone knows how well The United Naitons handles money.. Espically, when its other peoples money, now dont we...? Can you say "Oil for Food"..?
Antytime Obama gives a speech, listen very carefully to "everything" he says and many times, what he "doesn't say'. During John sKerry's presidential bid, "Flip flopper" became his signature description. However, a "flip-flopper" is someone who generally holds only one position or view at a time... switching back and forth bewteen them as is expedient. Obama however, is not one who holds one positon at a time.. Switching back and forth between them.. Its the FACT thatObama holds TWO POSITONS at THE SAME TIME... When questioned if this means his "program" would provide coverage for some 10 to 14 million ILLEGAL ALIENS, he says no.. Yet, both The O.M.B. (Office of Management and Budget) and The Wall Street Journal have proven, beyond any doubt, this is exactly what would occur. That the figure of 47 million INCLUDES the 10 to 14 MILLION ILLEGALS in this nation right now... But, how many more will this also include.. How many more illegals will be arrive as a result of his "free" program. Obama you must remember, is a proponet of "open borders", the uncontrolled access to America wihtout any restrictions. Which by the way, is just another of his views as a "citizen of the world". They are the very same held by European Naitons and the majority of their citizens.
This entire scheme by Obama and the Democrats is only another example of how they love to use taxpayer money to buy their way into office. How they will stoop to any level in order to stay in office. All of their ofty talk about how much concern they have for the middle income class.. the working American is so much hot air. The FACT is they could care less about either group. All they are concerned with is how steal from you and me and giving it away to anyown who they think will vote for them.. Thats FACT.. Spin, bake it, shake it.. Its sill FACT... Carter proved it.. Clinton proved it and Obama, with his own words proves it.
As a blantant example of just how "free" this so-called "free health care" progam really is, look at the current state of affairs in Massachutes. There, last year, lawmakers passed legislation requiring ALL citizens within the starte to have health insurance and for those who could not or would do so, the state would pick up the tab. Now, they not only have a shortage of medical personnel, doctors, nurses... leaving the state at near supersonic speed, they also find themselves with a $150 MILLION DOLLAR deficit. This is just ONE YEAR. Just how do you think they propose to make up this difference... A federal bailout of course. Taking YOUR money and MINE to pay for their own stupidty, their own failed "free" health care program. They beleive it the responsiblity of the federal government to make up this shortfall, and thereby, in actuality, OURS to pay for their lack of planning.
Then again what do you actually expect from such a state. One which has consistently elected to The United States Senate someone who, at the very least, is guilty of involuntary manslaugter.. Who "walked around the Island for over two hours, looking for help" while an innocent and helpless young woman drowed in the back seat of his car. And a state who has also constantly elected a proven LIAR... One who committed purgery before Congressoinal Committees to further his own political career... Lied over and over as to what really transpired in Viet Nam... Lied as to what actually happen to his "war medals"... or ribbions.. or was it "someone elses" ?... He's told so many different versions, not even John sKerry himself can keep his own story stright now... And its the same with the other United Stantes Senator... Ted Kennedy can't keep his story stright about what actually happend that night either.
If we as a nation what this kind of garbage to continue....Then vote for Obama and "The Dalton Gang" currently in congress. One with the absolute lowest approval rating in this naitons history... Every election the abortion issue raises it's ulgy head. The far left wants to kill babies, even when they survive the procedure, the far right wants to make sure no one has the choice to start with. What it all boils down to is that the best case scenario for the pro-life side is that this issue is sent back to the states to decide on a state by state basis. The best case for the pro-abortion side is that nothing happens at all. This election may result in the appointment of at least two new SC judges. If so, the question that will most assuredly be asked during nomination will be, "do you think Stare Decisis applies to Roe v. Wade". The question that I have is, why does the left always invoke Stare Decisis (settled law) when it comes to killing babies, but not when deciding who the participants are in a marriage? Any thoughts?

CAN OBAMA BE PRESIDENT?
It seems that Barack Obama may not be qualified to be president, after all, for the following reason:
Barack Obama is not legally a U.S. Natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between 'December 24,1952 to November 13, 1986? . Presidential office requires a natural-born citizen, if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents, which of course is what exempts John McCain though he was born in the Panama Canal. Since his parents were serving our country during their stay in the Panama Canal, he automatically was considered a natural born American.
US Law very clearly stipulates: "If only one parent was a U.S citizen at The time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the Age of 16."
Barack Obama's father was not a U.S. Citizen and Obama's mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means although she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because of Hawaii being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so, for at least 5 years **prior to** Barack Obama's birth, but *after* age 16. It doesn't matter *after* In essence, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18 in Hawaii. His mother would have needed to have been 16+5= 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama's birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen As aformentioned, she was a young college student at the time and was not yrs 21 of age. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have waited to have him as the only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office.
*** Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President***. Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a U.S. Citzen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16. Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia... Now you can see why Obama's aides stopped his speech about how we technically have more than 50 states, because it would have led to this discovery. This is very clear cut and a blaring violation of U.S. Election law. I think the Gov. Of California would be very interested in knowing this if Obama were elected President without being a natural-born U.S. Citizen, and it would set precedence. Stay tuned to your TV sets because I suspect some of this information will be leaking through over the next several days.

Watching and listening to John McCain on the campaign trail, shadows that of a doddering old fool that is out of touch with a world. With his comments on the war, economy, healthcare and fuel prices, raises the question; “Which America does he live in, the America of the powerful and privileged, or the America that the rest of us live in?” He admits he doesn’t know anything about the economy, you know the very thing that collapsed the Soviet Union. He has no personal experience regarding healthcare, as tax dollars has been paying for his healthcare since the day he was born in a naval hospital. His only real calm is his military experience is Vietnam. It wasn’t his military superiority that elected him Senator, but the pity of being a POW.
Fear of terrorism is what re-elected George Bush, and John McCain is “Capitalizing” on the same fear to elect him. Can America survive 8 more years of foreign / corporate lobbying and the fleecing of the American people? I don’t think so. We need a president that protects America’s interest first, and the rest of the world’s investment into corporate America second. Allowing internal and external markets to take over our sovereign nation is the same as opening our doors to the enemy.

Sweeping cold fronts, warm, wet air from the south. Highs, Lows, depression points and circular storm patterns forming behind the front. To the Farmer or traveler it seems like a looming dark cloud. Just over the horizon. “Perhaps, we get rain,” says the Farmer. “Perhaps I can make my meeting before the storm hits,” says the Traveler. Regardless, because we are a long line of weather watchers, an inherited trait, we view the oncoming line with a level of anxiety, apprehension and occasionally with some prescient level of doom.
What happens to the USA Electorate as the Perfect Storm approaches:
If the Perfect Storm described herein has the elements listed above, then the electorate is in for one H… of a ride. Some welcome the storm. These are the folks riding the Front edge. Some are apprehensive, having seen the same storm in other lands and other times. Some are unconcerned, sure that the First Responders will take care of any possible damage, or disruption in their lives. Some are cognizant of the elements, behind the front. These are the ones that constantly lift the Diagones Lamp of Truth seeking light. These are the ones we would really not like to listen to, as they always have this propensity for doom. Some, with lots of courage, and little taste for research, say let it come. “I can deal with the edge, the middle and the follow on.” These folks, bless their pea picking hearts, will be the first to feel the hard edge of the storm.
Perfect Storm Prediction, a General Election Weather Forecast:
The Perfect Storm I allude to is fast approaching over the horizon. The oncoming front will hit in late October. Then there will be those seeking shelter, those gawking at the immediacy of the storm and those praising and egging on the chaos sure to result. The electorate can halt this storm in it’s tracks. A simple understanding of the inner facts, the conditions that feed the storm and the forces that are propelling the storm, can alter direction, can stop cold, the storm force and effect a return to normalcy. A storm shelter will not suffice should the Perfect storm fully engulf the USA. Economic shelters off shore will only delay the inevitable. Physical and emotional shelters will be swept away by the agendas of the forces behind the Perfect storm front. We, the populace of the USA, will be the chaff in the winds.
The electorate, confident in their History, Documents, Fiscal Structures, Laws and Common sense, will find the rules have changed. The new rules will be unfamiliar to most, but a Code of Conduct for the enforcers. These rules are long written, hard and fast in the Left's academia’s curriculum, available to review if one is so inclined.
Pessimistic? Yes, indeed. Likely to happen? The factors listed above are common knowledge. The Joker in the deck is the voting power of the USA electorate. Never a sure thing, always a hidden Texas Hold card. The USA Electorate holds the key cards. Question is, will we play or fold?
