ALRIGHT!
i've never asked for anything from you guys at fox 2 but you should have already suspected i was going to come hard and come strong on this subject.
HOW DARE YOU GIVE AWAY MY BRIAN MCKNIGHT TICKETS TO JUST ANYONE?!

How many times do i tell you over and over : I LOVE BRIAN MCKNIGHT!!
Sista will strip naked and run down 8 mile until all y'all come out that building to see me for those tickets!!
He's my world! I love me some Brian. More than anything else in the whole world. He gives me crazy love, he gives me one last cry, he's my inspiration, my motivation my man!!! in a single woman's looney world.
he got me through heartbreaks, divorce, stress full times (yes, that's two words in a single mother's world), frustrations and confusions of this world.
i've gone to hell and back and what's kept me sane is Brian
So if you don't want me really really mad at you, you need to send me an email and say, Hey Sylvia, I heard you were a Brian McKnight fan. Here's two tickets. (cause you know i don't have a car and i need to bring my ride unless you also arrange a nice limosine then you might as well throw in some back stage tickets too.)
Why do it?
Cause I'm your best blogger (except for shockhazard)
Cause I'm a single mother who hasn't had a vacation in 13 years and is about to go out of her mind
Cause my momma said all you can say is no ( and Sylvia hates that word. i hear it too much already)
CAUSE I LOVE BRIAN MCKNIGHT!!!!!
(PS. honestly i can't stay mad at you long. Never could hold a grudge, but it might last until November 30, 2008.)
I too grew up in the motown era, and Mr. Stubbs was one of the finest motown had to offer. his vocal range was amazing and in whole the Four Topps was one of the most prolific vocal groups Motown had to offer. I personally miss that era, and to this day my favorite music is MOTOWN. I had my first boy girl encounter to Reach Out, I'll be there,
forever a fan
Music and dancing are great loves of mine. I follow a localband around quite a bit. Check out:Ron and the classics .com. I ama kind, sweet, really good person. I believe in doig things fairly. I am easy going, lugh a lot as it is the best medicine. The last concert I saw was Jimmy Buffett. It rocked. I liked the movies Mama Mia and Sex in the city.
MY GREATEST SINGER LEVI WILL BE GREATLY MISSED....IM A NATIVE DETROITER...BACK IN THE DAY WHEN THE 4 TOPS WERE SINGING---- THEIR VOICES COULD BE HEARD THROUGH THE STREETS OF DETROIT----- LIKE BIRDS---- SINGING IN THE TREES....-----OH BOY WHAT A TIME THAT WAS!!!!!....NOTHING BUT GOOD MEMORIES FOR ME......I WILL TRULY MISS HIM AND THE REST OF THE GROUP......DETROIT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND ALSO BE A PART OF THEN!!!!!!!
The Epitome of what defined Motown died Friday.
Levi Stubbs.
This fabulous singer with the most soulful sound ever created has now been silenced. But the music he created with Lawrence Payton, Abdul "Duke" Fakir and Renaldo "Obie" Benson will live on forever. The Four Tops was and will always be my Favorite Motown Male Group. The Temps were mighty with their songs, but the Tops were still my Favorite.
" Baby I need Your Loving " in my opinion was the Anthem for Motown. And " Just Ask The Lonely " was the prettiest song ever recorded for the Motown Lable. Just two of many Gems. I had the fortune of seeing the Tops in Dearborn three years ago. Obie Benson had just died with-in weeks of them performing there. When they brought out Levi onto that stage, a roar like thunder broke out with cries of affection for this man. I was one of them yelling at the top of my lungs, WE LOVE YOU LEVI. And it was from the heart.
I remember the special they did on the Four Tops, and i will never forget crying my eyes out when Aretha Franklin was singing and put the Mic to Levi's mouth. And he sang the last note of the song, I Believe In You and Me. My God, what a moment. In fact I couldn't stop crying even after the show stopped on PBS, when they showed the special. There wasn't a dry eye that night, or when they appeared in Dearborn. Levi was that Loved and Missed on stage. I hope his family and friends know what this Beautiful Soul meant to all of us. And I hope they know that none of us that grew up in that era of Detroit, will ever forget him. And there will never be another Levi, nor a Lawrence Payton, Obie Benson or any other artist dead or living that made up the Motown Lable. That is how special our city's music was and will be viewed forever.
My heart goes out to Duke Fakir who now will grieve for his last brother of a group to leave. The voice has only been silenced in an earthly sense. The Legend will go on, and the Music will live forever.
God Speed to all of his family. Blood relations and Musically.
We will never forget you.

Now if you feel that you can't go on
Because all your hope is gone
And your life is filled with confusion
And happiness is just an illusion
And your world around is tumblin' down
Darling, reach out
Reach out, for me.
I'll be there to love and comfort you...(tell me baby)
I'll be there with the love I'll see you through
Now when you're lost and about to give up
'cause your best just ain't good enough
And you feel the world has grown cold
And you're driftin' on your own
When you need a hand to hold
Darling, reach out
Reach out, for me.
I'll be there to love and comfort you
I'll be there with the love I'll see you through
I'll be there to love and comfort you
I'll be there to with the love I'll see you through
I can tell you the way I hang your head
Now with out of love , now you're afraid
And through your tears you look around
But there's no peace of mind to be found
I know what you're thinking
Without love, now you're alone
Baby, reach out
Reach out for me
I'll be there to love and comfort you
I'll be there with the Love I'll see you through
I'll be there to love and comfort you ...(tell me baby)
I'll be there to always see you through...(I'll be there)
I'll be there to love and comfort you
I'll be there with the love I'll see you through

To all Latin music listener I have found a really cool local radio station on the internet that plays real good salsa music and other cool music at
www.radiomimusica.com and click on music player to listen to there great music.Imagine Hunter S. Thompson and The Beastie Boys sitting at the bar - they’d be sipping Jamie McCarthy’s funky rock brew blended in the inspiration of G. Love and Special Sauce, Jack Johnson and Citizen Cope. Jamie McCarthy is back for round two with "Salvation", the follow up album to 2007’s "Strange Town". And he’s celebrating with a release party in Ferndale as SPIN magazine and WDET FM 101.9 present Brian Vander Ark, Jamie McCarthy and Crashing Cairo at The Magic Bag on Friday, September 26.
Jamie McCarthy was only 20 when his alt-rock band Modern Cocktail Party scored a deal with Warner Brothers. After a year of touring and a fallen deal with the label, Jamie was swept into the world of commercial and voice over work.
Years later, Jamie was about to embrace the music industry again when his father, legendary Hall of Fame radio host J.P. McCarthy, passed away. Jamie spent years recovering from the setback and finally returned to music after a long hiatus. He began writing music again after a trip to Santa Monica, California, where he saw a homeless man hang himself from a tree on Ocean Avenue. Jamie was deeply moved by the tragedy and the experience inspired him to begin writing a new album. He swore that he’d finish the album and the result was the 2007 release "Strange Town".
At that point, Jamie vowed never to take life too seriously. His lyrics took a more confessional tone with an introspective reflection that led to the path of "Salvation", the new album.
Jamie recorded "Salvation" earlier this year at Big Sky Recording in Ann Arbor, MI, with Steve Tocco (Drums, vocals), Patrick Davy (Guitar, vocals) and Geoff Michael (Guitar, bass). Patrick and Geoff also co-produced the album with Jamie.
During the recording of "Salvation", the band played an ongoing game of Pass the Bass. All of the players took a stab at playing the bass. Pat and Geoff are much better bass players and they usually won, but Jamie managed to play the bass on Girlfriend and a Check. Jamie also played drums on a few of the tracks – he secretly wants to be a drummer.
After the band finished the recording, they took "Salvation" on the road for a test drive. They played to about 2,000 people on the Best Buy stage at the Taste of Chicago festival in June and CIMX FM 89.9 radio recently invited him to play an event in Detroit.
In addition, Jamie’s song "Meant 4 Me" also joins the music of two-time Grammy-winner Ozomatli, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Modest Mouse and other bands in "Sometimes in Life", the new independent film directed by Anthony Vallone for ValloNicka Films.
Jamie brings the party to The Magic Bag on Friday, September 26, with Patrick Davy (Guitar, vocals), Sean Harris (Bass) and Steve Tocco (Drums, vocals). Doors open at 8 pm. Tickets are $12. 18+ are welcome.
For more information, or to listen to "Salvation" in its entirety, visit www.jamiemccarthymusic.com or www.myspace.com/jamiemccarthy.

WE WERE HALF A MILLION STRONG~!
Friday to the day will mark the 39th anniversary of Woodstock. It took place Aug. 15-18, but an extra day was added on, the 19th. It was the Concert of ALL Concerts. And it only seemed like yesterday. There was no Violence nor Chaos at the venue in the 4 days. The only disruption there was, was trying to get there. For the conditions that took place with lack of water, food, & personal necessities. Woodstock remained Peaceful throughout the four days without incident. In this Blog, I will take you through the concert with pictures, stories, & THE MUSIC. It was billed as "Three Days of Peace and Music".
And they lied. It was " Four Days of Peace and Music ".
So sit back and ENJOY. No doubt some pictures I post will disappear but not the music. There will be video's & songs I can't find. But I'll do my best.

My Favorite Version.

When Jimi Hendrix ended his set, it completed 4 days of Bliss, And concluded one of the best concerts in HISTORY. It was viewed by many as one of the last hurrahs of it's Generation. Criticized by those that did not understand it's importance of what the message it represented and gave out. Max Yasgur who owned the farm in Bethel, N.Y. put it's context into words the best.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcBPYsLFoq0
He seemed to understand best after witnessing what he did, and the words he spoke to those half of million " KIDS " were from his heart and soul. That there was no trouble of any kind from start to finish at Woodstock, and they did prove to the world that Peace could be achieved without a chaotic outcome. There were two deaths ( one overdose, one tractor mishap ) & two births. The helicopters were military bringing in food, water, medical supplies & help. They were applauded by all.
Woodstock for four days was a city in itself, with people caring and looking out for one another. For some it was the last concert they'd see for some time. A girl in one of my junior high school classes said her cousin attended Woodstock. Three weeks later he reported for duty, and 3 months later was In Country in Vietnam. She moved at the end of the 1970 school year, I don't know if her cousin returned or not. I'd like to think so.
It was an age for innocence and for revolt. Most of all, it defined CHANGE. For Good, Bad & Indefference. The Woodstock Generation thought they could change the world.
FOR FOUR DAYS THEY DID. AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED.

I came upon a child of god
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going
And this he told me
Im going on down to yasgurs farm
Im going to join in a rock n roll band
Im going to camp out on the land
Im going to try an get my soul free
We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning
Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe its the time of man
I dont know who l am
But you know life is for learning
We are stardust
We are golden
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
By the time we got to woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation
We are stardust
Billion year old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devils bargain
And weve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden..................................... WRITTEN BY JONI MITCHELL

LET THE MESSAGE CONTINUE.

originally the song is called [UNTITLED] on the cd, but i tend to call it this because of the chorus part that states just what it says: 'this too shall pass.'

can't say he was right about the decisions he made to get himself in the position he is in now, but i'm human and i don't like to stump people when their down.
no matter a person does their still a human being and even if they were wrong, it's not for us to judge.
leave the matter to the courts.
so i offer encouragement to him and make this the song of the day. it's gotten me through a lot of times when i thought there was no silver lining and no one could give a damn.
To KK: you come from a strong line of people who have been kicked when their down and you shouldn't lose faith in what you dream to be.
listen to the lyrics and just relax in the knowledge that ...
this too shall pass.
