A Tragedy- GENOCIDE !

    Right here in America !!

A long historical campaign of genocide against the Dineh-Navajo: implemented through Senator McCain's use of unethical laws and amendments (PL 93-531 and S.1003) made repeatedly into law by Senator John McCain, an indisputable matter of Congressional Record despite his denials on the subject.  Mr. McCain and John Boyden, Esq. organized a phony puppet “Hopi” tribal council representing no one but Peabody Western Coal Companies mining interests in Arizona, so as to thwart the property rights of the Dineh-Navajo whose lands just happen to sit atop the richest Coal deposits in the US.  Dishonest and unethical, these laws stripped away the Human Rights of the Dineh-Navajo, written by McCain and Peabody so that Peabody Western Coal Group could simply strip mine the Dineh's territories, after dumping them in teeming cities or off on a waste dump in New Mexico: Church's Rock.  The Uranium contamination of the Church's site and Rio Puerco River is so intense, it is actually condemned by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.  But in reprisal for the Navajo's refusal to leave the Black Mesa and Big Mountain in Arizona, to attempt to protect their lands, McCain became homicidal towards them, sending them to live on Uranium Tailings along a contaminated river, so that poisoning, intimidation and the shock of relocation, killed over 7000 of the Navajo Aboriginals in a very short period.  Over 1/4 have died since 1999. Children are born with the highest birth defect rate in the US.
Stunning evidence of McCain's corruption and vicious abuse of the Dineh abounds. The man is considered "the Anti-Christ of the Black Mesa" by many.

as usual folks, casey has left out the FACTS of this issue. only the emotion & slander is here.

the Indian tribe's LEADERS signed a contract with Peabody Coal and were compensated well for it. These leaders also CHOSE where to move to.

This does not make our next President at fault, or anything even remotely close to the "Anti Christ".

casey, if you're going to tell stories, don't you think you should be telling the WHOLE story?

Did you not understand the part about John McCain and John Boyden organizing a phony puppet "Hopi" tribal council representing no one but Peabody Western Coal Companies mining interests in Arizona, so as to thwart the property rights of the Dineh-Navajo whose lands just happen to sit atop the richest Coal deposits in the US. ?

Stunning evidence of McCain's corruption and vicious abuse of the Dineh abounds. The man is considered "the Anti-Christ of the Black Mesa" by many.

If you read and absorbed the whole report, I wouldn`t have to break it down into segments that you understand. This is well documented even in congress so how can you embarress yourself by your` emphatic denial that this never happened ? You are indeed a student of George W Bush. Don`t feel bad. We still love ya` !

Here`s a little rundown on John Boyden
Boyden secretly worked for Peabody at the same time he was representing the Hopi.

"Boyden was a powerful figure in southwestern politics and society for decades. He was a bishop in the Mormon Church and a tenacious, skilled trial lawyer. He also represented the Hopi. The tribe, it seemed, couldn't have wished for a more potent ally. For years Boyden tried to persuade the Hopi to open their land to mining interests. Traditionalists in the tribe rejected the idea out of hand. One of them, Thomas Banyacya, said, "You will make us a landless, homeless people. This is the only land we have." Not to be rebuffed, Boyden helped assemble a tribal council more sympathetic to his own views. On May 16, 1966, Boyden presented it with a lease proposal he had prepared for the council members to sign. According to Charles Wilkinson, a professor of law at the University of Colorado who has studied Boyden's career, Boyden failed to tell the council that Peabody would be operating the largest strip mines in the country on their land. Moreover, he said little or nothing about the huge quantities of water the company would need.

Boyden also neglected to tell the tribe that its coal would help fuel the development boom in the Southwest. With cities like Phoenix and Las Vegas then on the brink of explosive growth, the tribe could have exerted enormous leverage to extract the best possible price for its coal and water. Instead, Boyden's agreement sold the tribe's coal and water rights for absurdly low prices. The Hopi and the Navajo received a royalty rate that was half what the U.S. government received for coal mined on public lands. The water deal was worse -- if there even was a deal. Masayesva says there is no evidence that anyone from the tribe signed a lease that gave Peabody access to the reservation's aquifers.

"There is no record," declares Masayesva. "We hired a law firm to investigate. They couldn't find any record where the tribe ever approved a sale of that water."

Why did Boyden fail to protect the interests of his impoverished clients, who even today suffer an unemployment rate that hovers around 50 percent? The mystery wasn't solved until many years after Boyden's death in 1980. One of Wilkinson's research assistants uncovered a startling fact while studying a collection of Boyden's papers in 1992: Boyden secretly worked for Peabody at the same time he was representing the Hopi. Billing records and correspondence with Peabody executives show that Boyden's association with the company lasted from 1964 through 1971. Boyden's chief concern during those years was not the welfare of the Hopi but the development of the Southwest, which would have been impossible without access to the tribe's coal and water."

well casey, i just don't know. i'll have to do more research on this.
but, even if this guy boyden IS or WAS what you say he was, that does not translate to McCain also being that corrupt.

if Boyden had all these indians fooled for all those years, is it possible that McCain didn't know either?

Easy to say, dprin - not always easy to do. They want to be in familiar territory with their own people, not strewn across the country, splintered from their Tribes.

I am 70 yrs. old and I have never seen our country in such dire straits as it is today. I was born in W.Va., Grew up in Pa. with Bobby Vinton, and ended up in Oh. Back then, when you graduated from high school in W.Va.,Pa.,or Ky., you received a diploma and a road map to Ohio. I grew up in the 50`s and 60`s, so I know what really good times in our` country were. GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN !
