I've been on this blog since 2006, and I've got to know a lot of you.  I have learned quite a bit.   The main thing I learned is that we are all human.  We all have are opinions on politics , race, religion, the war.  I can remember when I was a child sitting around the dinner table, we were told it wasn't polite to talk about religion and politics at the table.  That struck me as odd.  That just left boring conversations about the weather and gossip about the neighbors.  Who's daughter got pregnant, and who got drunk and landed in jail for the night.  (that was said in code) Like we didn't no who they were talking about.   It is refreshing to me to voice my opinion and hear how others thing.  It's alright if you catch me saying something you don't agree with and setting me straight,  I will do the same in turn.  I love all you guys, even the ones I don't always agree with.  Sometimes you speak for me!  And thats alright too, if I agree with you.  I think thats what it means to be an American.  We are a tough bunch to deal with, and if you cross us you will be dealt with!  Thats why I don't worry about the fate of Detroit, or our great State and Nation.  I know how Car feels.  Grateful!

Atleast you have postive words at times. I have not read of you calling any names (so far) or belittling people. You appreciate that people may not always agree with you. That is what makes you credible.

Well Thank You carolej60! For me, it is better to just tune out the negative stuff in the world & just sit back & relax by the lake or keep my mind occupied with positive thoughts & actions. The problems may or may not go away but at least I can return to them with a sane & serene mindset.

So I read your profile and I know what you mean I loved the Sports hero's. I was a small kid but I remember Terry Sawchuck, being sewn as he stood by the bench during a game at Olympia.

It's not easy to avoid trading barbs but I really do. I think it has been an eye opener for me because I have been here more or less since the pages started and at times I have been the lone Democrat in a sea of Republicans.

I use to stay on Wereford St., down the street from the Olympia. This was way before Cobo, and Joe Lewis. We had Briggs Stadium, then the home of the Tigers.
To RN4peaced, you said: Atleast you have postive words at times. I have not read of you calling any names (so far) or belittling people. You appreciate that people may not always agree with you. That is what makes you credible. my question to you is was that a compliment or a judgement?

Carole, let the games begin. When we were children, one young girl in "trouble", was always the one who went to stay with her "auntie in Chicago", or some where else, and she was usually not seen for a few years later...but by then, married with child...

Our grandparents came from French Canada, Ontario, and all the uncles and aunts would sit around and speak English, until it got time for them to speak of "adult talk", and then out came the French...

"damn toujours les enfants de fréquenter. Où est le whisky?

Or as they said it, damn children always hanging around..okay, where's the whiskey?

JUST KEEP BLOGGING AND HAVING FUN....
WOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My dad and his brothers invented another language something like Pig Latin. We figured that out too! Unkpay was punk in pig latin. They said unkpoogle for punk. My grandmother use to say, let the door knob hit you, where the good lord split you. Wooooooooooo-Hooooooooooooo!

Carole, if you return to our website and then click the button to the right of the flashing finger under each picture (ex: the female beagle pup), it opens to an entire new screen with pictures and then has links on the bottom right to continue examing more pages of pictures. Each finger has a click button to the right, and clicking on that button takes you a new page. Thanks for the comments.

Born and raise in Detroit, there has been 3 world series won by the Detroit Tigers in my life time this will make number 4. I am old enough to remember 2. I went to Northwester high school with one of the 1968 Detroit Tigers, "Willie Horton" The first High School player to hit a ball out of Tiger Stadium, used to be known as Briggs Stadium. Yes I'm a tiger fan for life. I stayed in San Diego when we won in 1984. I had to watch the celebration on TV. It's true Detroit is a sports town all the way. I remember Gordy Howe, Dave Bing, Al Kaline, Barry Sims. I love Detroit.
