This is what I'm talking about!
This is the best presentation of the sixties that I have ever seen online. It is very well done. Just click on the link and sit back and enjoy the memories (about 5 minutes in length).   http://objflicks.com/TakeMeBackToTheSixties.htma>

What a Fabulous Video CaroleJ60.
By time it got to the Buffalo Springfield/ Late 60s part I was saddened because it seemed like a second ago, yet a million miles from. And the goose bumps broke out as Aquarius played. AND ALL IN STEREO! Something I wish all tunes on You Tube were played in. As the video stated, the 60s was really the beginning of the end for the last generation of INNOCENCE.

And as far as Colt goes, the worst times are NOW. Created by the SELFISH GENERATION.
THE ME, ME, ME one.

WE WERE TOUGHER KIDS BACK THEN. LOOKED OUT FOR ONE ANOTHER, NOT LOOKING TO KILL EACH OTHER LIKE NOW.
WOULDN'T BACK DOWN. GOT THE RICH ONES MAD. GOOD.

WE HAD SELF ESTEEM, SOMETHING COLT LACKS.
People that HATE themselves NEVER have anything good to say.

I beg to differ the flower power kids grew up ruined our schools other things with their liberal stupidity.

Seft Esteem ahhhh thats right man anything goes free sex and drugs! what a great time no wonder your so screwed up having LSD flash backs Long?

Right on Flower Power!

Liberalism is a mental illness you had come to age with.

Thank your generation for all of our problems today. You father fought in WWII to save this nation and came bac to build the best nation on earth and you were spoiled with it all and spit in his face. You call that Self Esteem?

Carole,
This same video was also recently posted on The Michigan Radio & Television Buzzboard website. It's an EXCELLENT production!
I agree with you. The 60's were GREAT, exciting years to be growing up in America, and in Detroit in particular. The automotive industry was booming, the Tigers were winning, and gasoline was .29/gallon.
I attended Game 4 of the '68 World Series. The Tigers lost that one, but they ended up winning the Series in game 7.
It's unfortunate that so many of the younger crowd like to blame us "boomers" for all of today's problems. Most of us TRIED to make this a better world, and we were NOT obsessed with greed and materialism. We are ALL struggling to survive in today's stressful world. The simple fact is this: The MORE people in the U.S., and the world in general, the more complex life is going to be. It takes MORE effort to make it all work. If people choose to be selfish, greedy, and disrespectful of each other, the more difficult life is going to be for ALL of us.
Technology alone is NOT going to "save" us...Just look at the huge increase in crimes involving identity theft and internet scams.
The answer starts will US. We all need to more tolorant of each other, and to be contributing members of society.
JFK absolutely had the right idea: "Ask NOT what your country can do for you, but rather, what YOU can do for your country!"

I missed all of that " Free Love " going around in the 60's . At the end of that piece , it said that many considered The 60's the end of inocense , I feel that they are right . It was the era of cool music and hot cars .

aww look at all the hippies how many of you spit on the troops and called them babhy killers?

How many are still doing it today?

I am glad i was too young to have to worry about the hippies back then, but i am old enough to watch them ruin our country today.

You all think you were so enlightened and looks at your kids today killing each other, no moral values, killing the unborn for birth control. The demand for entitlements ohhhh yeah ya ex hippies did so much for us. To bad most of it was not good!

not your fault my kids don't do drugs and its not your fault that my kids are all A students ya damn right its not your fault. Unlike the hippie generation that rasied their kids with out rules because they did not want to be like their parents have given us things like columbine. It the hippie parents that wanted to be cool for their kids have taken the ability of the schools to do anything with behaivor problems.

Like i said there was a lot that came out of the 60's and not much of it was good for America.

I guess you would have to be there. I liked the 70's too. Mostly the music. Hey and get this, I was a war baby, I came out of the 40's but still enjoyed the 50's,60's. My last son to graduate is part of the X Generation, which was in the 80's. I have good memories of every decade the good Lord has bless me with. Which generation did you come out of?

Thanks to all that took a trip down memory lane with me. When you find something good to talk about you like to share with others. It's such a relief from politics and all the negative stuff going on, which by the way happens to all generations. I prefer to concentrate on the Positive, there will always be those who see the glass half empty.

Born and raise in Detroit, there has been 3 world series won by the Detroit Tigers in my life time this will make number 4. I am old enough to remember 2. I went to Northwester high school with one of the 1968 Detroit Tigers, "Willie Horton" The first High School player to hit a ball out of Tiger Stadium, used to be known as Briggs Stadium. Yes I'm a tiger fan for life. I stayed in San Diego when we won in 1984. I had to watch the celebration on TV. It's true Detroit is a sports town all the way. I remember Gordy Howe, Dave Bing, Al Kaline, Barry Sims. I love Detroit.
