Maybe someone can explain this to me.  Democrats whine and cry about Homeland Security, protect our boarders, this I totally agree with 100%.  Then why is the Chairman of Homeland Security, Benny Thompson (D) wants to put a stop to the fence now being built?  The Bill that passed in 05 to build the fence is now in trouble.  So I ask the Democrats in Michigan to translate this type of thinking?  Are you affraid it might work?

You were right the 1st time, bye-bye. It's boarders. Illegal immigrants boarders, from across the border.

For we are the HOARDERS of BOARDERS from across the BORDER

I believe the onmes that don't want it are the corporate owners of these companies that hire the illegals for pennies on the dollar. The landscaping and building trades bigshots uase the illegals to cut costs and make bigger profits, which would be OK if the people they hired were not ILLEGALS!

Now if you want to know why Democrats are backing away from a fence, I can give you my perspective on it. George Bush acted like a scared rabbit after 9-11 and has destroyed the American Economy. He spent Billions to make are borders safe. If he could fix one million things, tomorrow there would be a million more ways around the very things he just fixed. We stand now the deepest in debt in the history of "Our" Nation and it's time to stop the spending.

Gearge Bush did not destroy the economy , terrorist did . Remember what happened to the stock market on 9-11 ? We now fight the terrorist so that it will not happen again .

Tall,

Like what Rev stated, look at Benny's site. I saw Lou Dobbs this morning (Germany) and it puzzle me what the main person in Charge of the Homeland Security Commission is doing this. Believe me, if it was a Republican I would be bringing it up also. You have to look at all the empty promises the 06 Congress has done for this Country. You can't have a political party say they can protect the people and turn around and not do it.

Neither party can really get anything done because of the split in power. While the Democrats have wanted to make changes having George and his pen keeps them in limbo. I posted just about what I wrote here around 430 am, I wonder what happened to it. I will go take a look at that site now BBL

Both parties are to blame being George believed they all could get along and didnt veto democratic spending for five and a half years.

That's stupid garbage talk from even you, steveisacartoon. With both sides pulling their PORK BELLY monies out to spend idiotically on garbage idealism, money is not there to be provided for. It does make a difference which party you are affiliated with. This country is in big trouble, and everyone needs to understand that it's not a fence that's required. It's the moronic ways that corporate america pays money under the table to simply forget about the illegal alien problems, or the housing market problems and even the fuel and gas problems. Give Senator and Representatives an ultimatum to either correct this country's problems or they are out of a job with no recourse to ever return, and this Congress will quit playing mind games with each other and get this country back up and running properly.

Tall , a split in power is a good thing . It's called checks and balances . When both parties agree on something , 9 out of ten times , it's bad for " We The People ". There is at least ten thousand laws on the books that are un-constitutional , and down right ignorant , put there because of parties agreeing with each other . Constitutionaly , the federal government has two jobs .
#1 Protect our borders .
#2 Monitor our foriegn trade .
Nowhere in the constitution does it give the feds the right to have anything to do with private commerce , schools , health care , social security , or any laws that take away states rights , or strong arm them into any kind of complience .
Every thing the federal government has had anything to do with [ with the possible exeption of the U.S. postal service ] , has went terribly wrong .
