Two hundred and thirty-two years ago America through off the yoke of supression and won their freedom form England. We did this because of our love of freedom and created a government that could not become to powerful to threaten that freedom. We created a government that would protect us as a country, with an army. Make and inforce laws. Our forefathers also gave rights such as freedom of speach, the freedom to pursue happiness, the freedom of religion, and the freedom to own land. Most important the freedom to chose our own destiny, the American dream. For centuries this country stood for freedom and the American Dream was anyone could be anything they wanted to be.
Saidly to say that after centuries freedom we are starting to loose those rights. We now have a government, lead by the Democrats, that truely believe that they can make decisions for us better than we can. They are set to ruin this economy by taxation and not allowing us to pursue our own resources. Because of the high taxes and energy cost business will leave and along with them Jobs. The Corporations that do not leave will be nationalized as they have threatened to do with the Oil Companies and the Refineries. They will make every American dependent on the government and the Democrats for a living. They will dole out welfare and jobs to everyone and everyone will have to be happy to recieve it from them. We will become so politically correct that we will lose our right to Free Speach. Nancy Pelosi has already curtailed the freedom of speech when she shut down congress against the protest of our representatives. threw out the press and shut down the cameras for the television stations.
Our elected officials are suppose to represent us the people. Now they seem to represent themselves and the power to be had. While we pay four dollars a gallon of gas they deem that we do not need to go after our own resources. As Obama has said he is not disturbed that we are paying that much but that it went up to quickly. What is his solution for this? Have the oil companies pay us a $1,000 dollars each. That should teach them a lesson about making a profit. It should surely drop the price of gas. He said that curtailing the frederal gas tax was just a gimmick. What is this?
To see this type of politics in action you only have to look as far as Minnesota. In the 1990's the Minnesota state government was the 15th largest employer in the state. Since then we have raised the taxes on all the business. Today the state government is the largest employer in the state. Minnesota is also a liberal welfare state. People from other states flock here to take advantage of that. Their answer to the slowing economy and rising gas prices this year was to raise taxes by about one billion dollars and add a ten cent a gallon gas tax on the already high gas prices. Minnesota has about a decade before there is no business left in the state and we will either work for the government or get assistance from them.
Two hundred and thirty two years ago we had a tea party to protest high tax rates. I believe it is time to do it again. It is time to tell the Democrats that we can make our own decisions. It is time to make our government smaller. It is time to take back the American Dream. It is time to say no to the Democrats and their agenda of a socialized country where they control everything.
When we look at this election we as voters have to decide what we want out of our government. By answering these few questions your choice becomes obvious.
1. Do you think we need more government and government programs?
2. Do you think Government can make better decisions on how to live your life than you can?
3. Do you think Americans should pay more in taxes?
4. Do you think American business should pay more taxes?
5. Do you think gas prices should be higher?
6. Do you believe that America is a bad country and should ask the rest of the world permission before we do anything?
7. Do you believe that freeing millions of people from a ruthless dictator and mass murder was the wrong thing to do?
If you answered yes to these questions then you should vote for Obama. If you answered no to these questions then you should Vote McCain.
I believe America works best with a small federal government, reduced tases, people taking responsibility for their own lives, and with little regulation to stimulate business, and that the rest of the world has no say so in what we do. We have earned that last privledge by saving most of them at one time or another. Americans are a hard working compasionate people that can think for themselves. The Federal Government should go back to what it does best protecting our freedoms and this land.
