Hey Tiger Fans---

My man Ryan Ermanni told me about some Tiger statistics that made me sit up and take notice........ Detroit's record is a head scratching 0-5 at this point....... but let's look into past Tigers futility....... Seems that Detroit has started the season 0-5 on 8 different occasions, and only once did the squad finish that year at .500 or better....... that year was 1922!!!  The question is whether or not you put any stock in numbers and stats like that????  Do you feel that the Tigers will be a sub .500 ballclub in '08???  or, is this a case of how numbers can lie???  I don't know what to feel, but I'd like to hear your opinion........ log on and let me know what you think!!!!!

I predict weather, but I'll take a stab at sports. Tigers are 0-5; however, our ace, Verlander, on a national stage tonight will take this club on his shoulders. Look for Verlander to toss 8 effective innings, and hand it off to Todd Jones for a close call save.

It is now one day after the Tigers embarrassed themselves on national TV, Justin. I bet you're feeling like I did last year when I anticipated the Detroit Lions going 12-4.

I came to Fox 2 in 1998 after spending time in the Sunshine State. My career began while I was at the University of Miami and I tried out for 3rd base on the Miami Hurricanes baseball team as a "walk on"!!! I was the last guy cut that season and I decided then that if I couldn't make the team I was going to stay close to the program.... so in addition to being the program director at the campus radio station-- WVUM, I also helped start up the campus cable television network... and that led to a job as a Cameraman shooting sports for local station WCIX. I caught a break when I was offered a chance to go "on air"..... That chance allowed me to secure the weekend spot at WFOR in Miami, Florida and then I made the jump to Motown. This city is one of the best sports towns in the nation and I'm pleased as punch to be a part of the magic. I think that the Sports Staff at Fox 2 is the best, and we always strive for excellence. There's no phony baloney, sing along jingles or "video arcades" here-- just straight sports presented in a truly creative way..... That's how I like it, and if you feel that way too, then I'll see you at 5, 6, and 10 for our daily broadcasts-- and Sportsworks Sunday Night, right here on FOX 2!!
