The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste.

If that little girl was still alive, she would have to be held captive by someone with evil intent, or else she would have been turned over to the authorities by now, what with all the publicity.

Okay, so what evil intent? Ransom? There's been no ransom demand. The family doesn't seem like they're very wealthy anyway.

I suppose she could have been kidnapped by some deranged people who wanted a child. But kidnapped with no witnesses and no clues? And the kidnappers know they can never let her be seen in public, with her picture all over the news on a daily basis. Maybe they'll keep her locked up in a room for years like that poor little girl in Austria some months ago. That's a thought I would prefer not to entertain.

If the "mother" knew anything about that, there would be no reason for her to keep that from the authorities.

I keep coming back to the very sick Casey. The fact that she's not talking tells me she's hiding something horrendous. She knows where Caylee is buried and she's hoping the whole mess blows away as an unsolved mystery.

If there ever was a justifiable employment of torture, this is it. Where's Jack Bauer when you need him?

Oh the thing people say and do. Some dont realize there might be another side to the story, like the grandparents and the mother wanting to keep her child from them. Just a thought. The problem is some jump to conclusions before they know ALL the facts.

If I can unravel "the grandparents and the mother wanting to keep her child from them" correctly, I take it that you're proposing that there was an impending custody fight between Casey and her mother?

That's an interesting thought, but there has been absolutely no hint of that in anything anyone has said so far. Don't you think someone -- member of the family, family friend, someone? -- would have said something up to now?

And again, the pressure on the person/people holding her would be impossibly enormous.

I don't think this is what is happening, but I hope you're right.

She claimed to have left her at the baby sitters. Now how many Moms out there would not have filed a missing child report that very night or at least as early the next morning as possible? What is wrong with this woman? Did she have drugs in her system? Could she have sold Caylee? I know if I had someones child, and they didn't come back to get it. I would call the police. I wouldn't keep the child. You are probably right about the evil intent.

If I was a "Mother" I would already had told the authorities that I did not want my baby with my family, she has been keeping the police at bay and noe her parents are saying "she has been as clear as she can be".
Come on, if she was goiing to be clear she would have said all the required information, the are no "ALL THE FACTS" when there is a team of police wasting their time trying to come ou with leads.
Considering her child missing for the last 2 months I would have charge her with manslaughter.

She could have been sold into slavery..

I SAY this NOT lightly or in a tone in ANY way sarcastic..

The fact of the matter is that the longer this little girl remains missing with NO trace,,NO story ,,NO body and the ONLY one who MIGHT have the SLIGHTEST Idea where she might be is keeping Quiet about it,, the MORE that I am beginning to lean in THAT direction...

If SO,,,She's ALREADY out of the country...

It happens a LOT more often then MOST people Realize..

hawk -- I considered your suggested option briefly. I discarded it as being too terrible to wrap my mind around. She's be better off dead. And that's the option I think is the most likely, unfortunately.

It would be a wonderful story if this poor little girl was found under a cabbage leaf somewhere, but I fear that's not how this story will end.

I pray that Casey is punished to the full extent of the law.
