Over a month ago we bought a new HD TV with our stimulus check.  We had Dish Network for our satellite provider.  We've always been extremely happy with them.  I called the number off their website and somehow got ahold of something called FunDish.  They  ttold me that in our area, DIRECTV was the better server and they were switching us to them.  She told me that Direct is NEVER bothered by weather....found out that's a lie.  Then, they said we were to get professional free installation.  The guy told me that he had to have a check for $90.00 before he would turn it on.  He even used our cement and my husband dug the hole!  Called them back and they said we shouldn't have paid him.  Uh, yeah....they told me they would send us a partial refund....never got it.

Now, I paid my first bill online and got a confirmation of payment along with a confirmation number via email.  Yesterday I got a late payment with a late fee tacked onto it! I called my bank and she told me that the money had been deducted from our account and sent to DIRECTV. I checked my bank statement, and yep, there it was made out to DIRECTV.  I called DIRECTV, and they told me I hadn't paid my bill. I told them that I had proof in the email comfirmation, the bank, and the bank statement.  She says I have to fax a copy of my bank statement to them to prove I paid it!  What the heck is going on?  I don't know what to do.  What's seeing my bank statement going to do.  They still clain they never got it.  I won't pay it again, and darn sure won't pay that late fee!

I won't be sending them a copy of my bank statement!  Where do i go next to alleviate this?  Help me Fox 2!!

I was wondering who won the Rams tickets from the song of the day contest?  I think you guys should post the winners of every contest.  I've seen some, but not all by any means.  That's just like the Toby Keith tickets.  Didn't seen who won those either. 

Could you do that for us?

 

How do you get a friend of yours to kind of back off w/o hurting their feelings?  I have this friend that calls me sometimes over 6 times a day!  I half way feel like I'm being stalked.  How do I curb this?  I enjoy being her friend, but enough is enough! ......HELP!!!

I know I'm probably gonna catch a lot of flack on this, but I don't understand all the fighting over cell phone useage. Do I think that cell phones hinder the attention paid on the road? Yes for some. Is it going to stop the cops from being on their's too, or is it just us? Also, if using the cell phone is causing hazards, what about the women putting on their make-up or the guys shaving while driving? That shouldn't be any more allowed than cell phones. I mean, if you want complete attention on the roads, then stop all this with tickets too. Switching radio stations, eating, or changing cds can occupy your attention the same as cell phones. I've heard nothing on this activity. A lot of people have cell #s programmed in their phone and dial with one touch. Holding that phone with your shoulder or even with your hand is no more a hindrance than holding that cup of coffee or soda and using one hand to drive. Do I agree with texting while driving? ABSOLUETLY NOT! There are those out there that should not even have a radio at all for distraction. How many of you out there can change a station or put in another cd and have complete attention to the road?........That's what I thought. OK, hit me!! LOL!

I just heard from one of my sisters who has a very rebellious 14 year old son.  She found him putting the anarchy symbol on his MSN page and then also found another one above his bed.  This kid likes to wear all black clothes, but says he's not goth.  She's really scared and worried he's a Satanic worshipper. She had him get rid of both pictures, because she said she won't have devil worshipping in her house.  He told her just cause you can't see them, doesn't make it go away.  Is there anything she should be worried about?  I'd be terrified if he was my son!  Any thoughts on this??

Having just heard what Randi just said  on the news about abortion, I'm appalled!  60% of all abortions are performed on women who have had at least 1 child!  After already having a baby do you all not know how to prevent pregnancy?  It's not abortion  people.... for God's sake!  If you don't want any more children or not at this time, how about using birth control instead of just killing it!

Let's see how many agree with me on this, or how many are gonna fight me on it. I realize it's a woman's body to do with what she want's, but how about using something to prevent pregnancy to start with! Geez!!

 

Of course once again the rain split around us here in Franklin County!  Jefferson County always gets it and there in the city they're getting soaked. The sun is shining here!  What the heck is the deal??  I see on the weather map right now that there is more coming...probably split right around us again.  I'm gonna have to water my garden.  Everything around here is crisp.

Hey weather guys......what's it gonna take to get some rain?  Here in the southwest part of Franklin County we get NO rain!  I don't understand why just in this spot it just goes around us.  I do realize there's nothing anybody can do about it. I just don't get it!

Okay....I just watched this goofy lawyer of those parents who left their baby to die in the hot car.  He says that the two cases, this one and the one with the black nursey worker, don't even compare.  He says she KNEW she was responsible for those little kids. It's the law.  My problem is, she knew she was responsible, but the parents aren't I guess?  If they aren't who was?  Was it her fault? Did she get in that car by herself?  That mother knew she hadn't dropped her off at the sitter's.  If she was calling her husband to park her car, why did she not inform him she had taken the baby yet, and if she hadn't, why was she worried about parking her car yet?  He's not guilt free, but I see it as she is the most at fault.  Whether there was criminal intent or not, a little person died, and someone should assume responsibilty for it.  These parents are not little kids who can just use the age old excuse of, "I didn't do it...or I didn't know". I didn't let my own kids off with BS excuses like that!  This just infuriates me! 

One time a deputy came by here and accused me of neglect of one of my dogs cause at that time, he had run out of water. I had not done the chores yet at this time, but she wouldn't hear of it. She was going to press charges for animal abuse!  I take very good care of my animals, but I was going to be arrested!  How is this something worse than the death of a child?  BTW, my dog didn't die either!!

I just saw on the 6 pm news that a veteran letter carrier was shot while on his route! They say it may have been from a 14 yr. old kid with a BB gun! Stuff like that always scared me....esp. being shot by a real gun.  I had a fairly quiet route, but you never know. 

Yikes! What's with the double shooting in my hometown! Both happened on my old mail route too. Things like this don't normally happen around here. Kinda scary! I'm sure it was doubly scary for my sister too. The suicide happened on her and her husband's car lot!

I have a question for anybody out there who is "in the know". I've been told all my life that you cannot put a piano on an outside facing wall, and if you do, it will draw the moisture from outside. If this is true, is there a way I could put it on that wall w/o hurting it. If I cover it will it help? Can I make a difference? HELP!!

Has anybody been picking any blackberries yet?  I've got 2 gallons in my freezer, picked another gallon last night, and have more to pick today.  They're really good this year. Normally it seems we can't get any rain and they either burn up or are really seedy.  These this year are for the most part, plump and juicy! I'll have to make a cobbler soon. YUMMY!

What's everybody's fave on the grill?  I was listening to The Morning Show when they were talking about pork steaks.....luv 'em!
