Let me preface this blog by saying that I am a huge Dallas Mavericks fan.  I grew up in Fort Worth and have pulled for the Mavs since they were an expansion team.  I remember their first playoff season and I was at the game when Derek Harper dribbled out the clock against the Lakers thinking he was up one when the score was actually tied(the Mavs lost in OT).    As for this year's performance against Golden State....WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!?   You talk about a gutless, heartless performance.  Dirk Nowitzki is supposed to be an MVP candidate and all he can muster is 8 points in an elimination game?  I'm a Dirk fan, but come on.  And maybe it's not all his fault.  They tried to make Dirk the leader, and maybe he's not comfortable in that role.   There's no leader on that team.  There hasn't been a leader on the team since Nash left.  67 wins and a first round exit in the playoffs.  They got out-played, out-coached and certainly out-hustled.  Something has to change.  I know this isn't a basketball town, but let me hear from you ballers out there and let me know what you think about the Mavs collapse.

Peace Out!!!

Ezell

Some choice quotes about Thursday's disaster in Bay:

From the Dallas Morning Snooze http://www.dallasnews.com/:

"The Mavericks will never win a championship as long as Dirk Nowitzki remains their best player, writes columnist Jean Jacques-Taylor. He proved it against Golden State as the Mavs became the first No. 1 seed in NBA history to lose to a No. 8 in a best-of-7 series."

From the frontburner blog:

WOE TO THE DALLAS SPORTS FAN
A memory-having FrontBurnervian recaps the last 12 months of the sporting scene in Dallas:

May 2006 — The Dallas Stars, the No. 2 seed in the west, get man-handled by the No. 7 seed Colorado Avalanche and lose in the first round 4-1.

June 2006 — The Dallas Mavericks complete the biggest collapse in the history of the NBA Finals. After leading 2-0 and being up 13 with six minutes left to play in game 3, the Mavs proceed to lose four straight games to the Heat.

Summer 2006 — The Rangers continue to humiliate themselves by taking the field, and the Cowboys announce they're signing Terrell Owens.

September 2006 — TO tries to kill himself.

October 2006 — Tony Romo becomes the starting QB and instantly re-energizes the franchise, winning 5 of his first 6 games.

December 2006 — The Cowboys are utterly humiliated by the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, and Detroit Lions as the team completely collapses on itself.

January 2007 — With a seeming chip-shot field goal lined up to win the Cowboys their first playoff game in 10 years, the aforementioned QB drops the ball and half-heartedly stumbles toward the endzone,

I am blogging. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!!! I've wasted soooo much time NOT blogging. Has my life mattered up to this point? Was I anything before I was a blogger? Does the light stay on in the fridge after I close the door? I am so confused!
