Walked into the bookstore literally two hours after Sarah Palin had been introduced to the nation and there was the book, “Sarah.”

“Wow. How did they get that out so fast?”

The smiling book lady noted, “They didn’t. We were going to send it back to the publisher when we found out she was the V.P. candidate for John McCain!”

Well twenty dollars and two hours later, the brief 145 page book was completed with one rather unbelievable conclusion: Gov. Palin and Gov. Granholm have a lot in common.

In this puff piece of a book, author Kaylene Johnson describes Palin as being able to connect with people, has a fierce tenacity, a strong religious faith which includes quoting Bible verses, is highly competitive, a tireless campaigner and has been questioned about having kids and being a high ranking official at the same time.

Now be honest, is that not Jennifer Granholm to a “T?”
And there is more. Johnson writes, “Once she (Palin) reaches a cadence, she expects everyone to keep up.” Ask Granholm handlers about running to keep up with the driven and focused chief executive who waits for no one.

Palin’s sister Molly recalls going shopping and seeing Palin being treated like a movie star. Granholm devotees are fond of referring to her as a rock star.
Palin is a runner. So is Granholm. Palin was a TV star. Granholm tried to go Hollywood. Palin has a First Dude who watches the kids. Granholm has her First Gentleman doing the same thing.

And on that point, when the governor first ran for attorney general she ran into the same “family/career” issue that Ms. Palin has also used to her advantage.

During one TV appearance Ms. Granholm was asked about being a mom and A.G. and she grinned saying, “You’d never ask John Engler that question.”
The career women in the audience applauded and Palin has benefited from the same line of questioning. What’s the word: Sexism?

The two also share a game changing moment that unfolded during debates.
Both went into a critical TV show with the feeling that neither was up to the job and couldn’t stand up to their two male opponents.

Granholm got in a dogfight with Jim Blanchard and David Bonior. And at the right moment, she turned to the camera and said, “Here’s what’s going on here…The polling reflects that I am doing very well and so the object here is to try to take apart the persons in first place.”

It was a rehearsed line but a good one nonetheless and she emerged with a new persona i.e. as somebody who could take it and dish it out. Her handlers believe the debate changed the race.

Palin did the same thing when she lectured her two debate-arguing opponents by saying, “We owe Alaskans a better discourse than this.”

There’s a lesson here for a man named Biden. The rules of engagement when running against female opponents are different. And if the democratic V.P. candidate Joe Biden is too aggressive or too patronizing, she may take him to the cleaners.

Democrat Granholm, who has done that to male opponents, is hoping that she and Palin have nothing in common on that front.

My Opine.
1. The comparisons generally apply to almost any lady candidate. The methods, approaches and retorts are very much the same.
2. Mrs. Palin, while a Political Candidate, experienced in almost all the nuances, has a historic opportunity, one that amost any Lady in Politics would give thier right arm to have.
The USA also has a historic opportunity. We can slip Left, into a repeat of France and Britain's experiment with Leftist Socialism or the USA can continue the fight to maintain, sustain and protect our Four Freedoms.
Make no mistake, the election is not about Ladies, it is about control, power and the ability to direct your life and mine. That is the goal.
Read, Review, Analyze, Choose, Decide. The Four Freedoms, one of which is the Freedom of the Press, is at stake.

I think you missed a few things .
They are nothing alike .
Jenny ran our state into the ground by raising taxes .
Palin gave money back to the citizens .
Jenny is a commie socialist .
Palin is a patriot .
Jenny should go back to Canada .[ but , the dems will back her in another race , so she can destroy another state ]
Palin will probably end up in the whitehouse .

Bravo, Shock. Personally, I think McNamara was giving her directions from behind the scenes. When he died, Jenny was clueless and Michigan was 'blown away'. Musta been that damn John Engler's fault, somehow - usually is.

Shock and Blub....
Not too up on Michigan local politics.
But the end result, may well be, Ladies will have truly broken the Glass Curtain.
Hillary shattered the Glass, Mrs. Palin will blow it away.
May heaven help us now. I may have to learn how to play Hockey, the Northern States Football.

Oh BTW, I heard an interview with the 'first husband' critizing Palin for running with a baby and a pregnant daughter, exposing them to the media onslaught - which he seemed to think was ok. I don't recall hearing anything about the Granholm kids, nor is it relevant. How come democrat children are 'hands off' and republican kids are fair game with the media?

One last thing... "There’s a lesson here for a man named Biden. The rules of engagement when running against female opponents are different. And if the democratic V.P. candidate Joe Biden is too aggressive or too patronizing, she may take him to the cleaners."

She may take him to the cleaners because he's an idiot. He plagerizes, he insults people, and lies about things that are easily proven. He's kinda like Howard Dean.

Well said Shock!!!

Granholm has been USELESS for Michigan and they want to push blame to everyone else except where it belongs GRANHOLM...

Although she did not lie in her last election with the statement "and in 5 years you will be blown away" That is the most truthful political statement I think I have ever heard.

I hope Palin is NOTHING like Granholm when she gets to the Whitehouse!!!!

Vol - spend some time studying Granholm's reign. It's a perfect blueprint of what doesn't work.

Actually it was Englers fault.

DC - I suspect I'm not going be your friend after this, but this is Granholm's baby. She's tried to tax us back into prosperity. She should have cut the single business tax before everybody bailed. This should be a 'right to work' state. There's been plenty of car companies building in the US, in other states. In most households when income decreases, the family cuts expenses. They can't shake down the neighbors for cash.

It's been 6 years, she needs to take some responsibility eventually. Like I said earlier, I believe when McNamara died, she was clueless on how to run the state.

ALL
Has MY Fox... an outlet in the Upper Penninsula?
Those folks used to be a whole different group, independent, deer hunters.
My concern right now, is the Fairness Doctrine. Implementation of the old proposals of control, guidance from DC, et al seem to be in the Congressional wind. We have a freedom here that is defintely scary to the DC crowd.

Well let`s just hope if Palin gets in she won`t "blow us away" like Granholm or give us "cool cities".
