Great post ThoughtManifest!!

In my opinion, most don't care, they just like to complain. If the city's doing good, or bad doesn’t matter to them, why should it, a lot who comment don’t live, or visit here, it's just something for them to talk about. I bet if you ask the loudest mouths, who talk about the city of Detroit’s issues haven’t been to the city in YEARS, and are the same people who want others to boycott Detroit! That just shows that some don’t want to do anything but “pile on” Detroit, because we are down. But, some people do have a lot of love for the city but, without real action it means squat! Most that talk, do just that, TALK! That applies to both city, and suburban residents. Right now Detroit is going through hard times, under poor leadership, just like America. But she’ll survive and become stronger than ever, just like the U.S.A..

One other thing the difference between Kwame, and Bush, is Bush isn’t going to be held responsible for any of his mistakes or misdeeds.

I'm one of the "outsiders" but was raised in det. and just moved from 9 mile and van BLEEP in Nov. I have a opinion and will and have the right to state it. Just because people dont live in det. does'nt mean their not effected by your smug thug of a mayor, anyone in the state is by his misuse of taxpayers money because their are those that live elsewhere but pay city taxes spend money in the city etc. if it were'nt for the burb's kwame would'nt have as much tax money to misuse. i can't believe the level of stupidity that some detroiters show by defending this idiot and excusing his affair. How many people have to inform you people that it's not about the affair but the lie's that were concocted to cover the affair? Kwame's sister in one of the text said detroiters are stupid or idiot's [forget which word she used] I'm sure her and her brother are laughing at all you people every chance they get and I can't say I blame them.

All I can say is...WOW! What exactly would you have the people of Detroit do? Sit back and do nothing? Don't make their voices heard? That is what Kwame was hoping the "Idiots" would do...just let him do whatever he wants and never call him on it. You mention Bush, and I agree that he hasn't been held accountable for his actions, but what are you suggesting? should we just say..."Oh Bush did wrong, so it's o.k for Kwame to do wrong too"? You know that's foolish! Detroiters need to stop playing the victim role and take responsiblity for who they elect into office! Kwame is wrong...yes, for the affair...but he's in hot water for what he did to cover up the affair...funny how you skim over that part. Kwame is guilty of no less than black on black crime..and as usual...you want it to be o.k....and help him be the "Victim" in this! Black on Black crime is not OK...you are perpetuating the myth that when blacks hurt other blacks it's somehow acceptable...it's somehow ok because we share the same skin color....and as blacks we need to demand better instead of supporting someone who thinks of you as an 'Idiot"! I have seen kwame supporters do and say more outrageous things than any of his detractors...they compare him to Jesus...wrap him up in God...say he's being Lynched by the media....and the list goes on....How about holding him accountable? Maybe there are bigger fish to fry (Bush, clinton)but in this frying pan called Detroit...Kwame the BIG FISH needs to be held accountable!

LOL ..I love how KK supporters use the whole sex scandal thing to get around the real issues KK has done.

1. bought a SUV for his wife with tax payer money then lied about it

2. As an attorney and Mayor (leader of the city) lied under oath.

3.Fired 2 police officers illegally(lied about it) and cost the citzens of detriot 8+ million dolaars and still counting.

4. Commited Adultry and lied about it under oath.( again he passed the BAR and holds his license to practice law.

5. Donated 30,000 dollars of his own money to help a school band to go to china for the olympics but is asking for help from the citzens to raise money for his leagl defense.

6. He can't even tell the truth about being in a play in middle school...and then says he didn't remeber..funny how everyone else in the play remembered.

7. Used tax payer dollars to take trips, fund his love affair.

8. Awarded contracts to freinds and family instead of doing it the right way and going with the lowest bidder.

While he is wearing his 1000 dollar suits and walking around with more security then the Mayor of New York City. your garbage isn't getting picked up. The streets aren't plowed in the city in the winter. I don't see him asking peole to raise money for that. Instaed he keeps wasting your tax dollars to try and make himself look better.

You must be on the mayor's payroll!

I agree seedub....there should be no discrepency in handing out punishments for corrupt politicians...at the same time...if one gets off that doesn't mean they all should. I think there are a lot of people who are up in arms over Bush....the key is getting the RIGHT people to be up in arms....the ones who CAN and WILL do something about it.

Talk about a witchhunt, you liberals have brought on some 300 investigations in an effort to try to get Bush on something. what did all that wasted money yeild? NOTHING! 4 years to try and find the one who "outed" a former CIA secratary who was outed by her husband long before anyway resulted in what? NOTHING. Someone barely related to the case who was convicted of lying during the investigation. NO CONVICTION OF THE "OUTING" THAT YOU LIBERALS SO DESPARTELY WANTED. No case for impeachment, hence no discussion of impeachment by a LIBERALLY RUN CONGRESS! YOU SEARCH AND SEARCH AND TRY AND TRY AND YOUR LIBERAL IRRATIONAL HATRED JUST FESTERS INTO MORE IRRATIONAL HATRED.
Furthermore, Clinton's outside the marriage affairs distracted that spineless individual enough to do absolutely NOTHING while the US was attacked by terrorists 8 times until they finally committed an act that NOBODY with any kind of humanity in their soul would have ever dreamed of.
Likewise, Don Kwamie was more interested in chaising tail than doing anything for the city. Part of his re-election campaign actually mentioned an accomplishment in getting grass cut in the parks! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
As for the notion that you have to live in the city to have a ligitimate opinion on this matter; THAT is exactly the blinders that is keeping the city in the dank hole that it's in. Detroit could be great, too bad so many would be rational Detroiters are too blind to see how bad it's gotten.

What cracks me up is the only reply you spoke of out of all the bloggers was the only one that agreed with you. At least you didn't delete comments like a few folks in here
