So the Mayor is Warning the Media Now

What Gall, Kwame has now a days, to think that he can even control how the media works. Now no one even mentioned his name with the Investigation, and he starts throwing smoke. I think we should all trust him, as we know KWAME NEVER LIES

I don't blame him for it at all. The media is the prime reason we (Detroiters) have spent as much money as we have on this whole "Kwame" issue. I by no means agree with what he has/is doing but I also feel that he isn't doing any more or less than the mayors before or after him. The only difference is his has been brought to light. I personally am tired of hearing about the Mayor and his faults. You hear so much from the media and those not even living in Detroit about the Mayor and it seems that everyone else is just jumping on the bandwagon. What needs to be done is a cleaning house in the Mayor's office, the City Council, and the School Board. Everyone seems to be on the "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" policy and the citizens of Detroit are the ones loosing out and getting the short end of the stick. There's so much talk about the damage the Mayor and his personal issues has brought to the city well guess what, if it wasn't for the coverage of the Media on even the remedial of things, our issues wouldn't be broadcasted all around the nation!

A bit paranoid to warn people ahead of time that he didnt have anything to do with it. It would be like me going to the Police station and telling them I had nothing to do with a murder before they said anything about it. Oh and by the way I didnt do it!

Apparently we aren't watching the same news cast or people are just hearing what the want to hear. I clearly heard them stick the "ties to the Mayor" out there prior to him warning about sending the letters.

Hail to the media!!!!....if it weren't for them we wouldn't know how big of a thief, liar, and "smooth talker" this _ _ _ _ _ _ _ is! It should be broadcast around the nation so that every Black person in America can see how a Black man cheapened the civil rights movement.

Coleman's faults were brought to light -- people believe then police chief William Hart took the fall and did time. No more or no less than the ones before or after him....who is after him??? He's got the ills of the ones before him totally beat.

Reese1129 speaking as a Detroiter, THANK YOU MEDIA!!!! everthing that the media is saying about Kwame Kilpatrick is true. If it wasn't true that letter that his attorneys wrote last night, they would had wrote it a long time ago, alleging slander and defamation of character. But he hasn't because he knows what they are saying is true. This is all public information cover by the freedom of information act. This maight be one of the many, many things that he doesn't have his hands in. No one lied on him they said that Jackson is a friend of Kwame's and that he live in the same building as Kwame's father, where is the lie??? The only person proven to be a lier is Kwame Kilpatrick. AGAIN, there are many people who WORK in Detroit, who does not live in Detroit, but they pay tax in Detroit just like you and I, so he is stealing from them too. Their are people who come and spend their money in Detroit on a daily basis, and left because of the crime, political corruption and terrible public school system. That doesn't mean that their heart isn't still in Detroit. Furthermore, Please don't tell me that just because other people are or have done wrong things, so that should excuse Kwame. I don't care if ten million people have done the things that Kwame has done. That simply means that ten million needs to be prosecuted and removed from public office. We must start running this city like a business, and stop allowing Kwame to play emotional mind games with the residents if this city is to ever grow to the level that it once was. This city is so much bigger then just one person, I sa

Reese 1129, if you were a business man which I don't know you may be, what if one of your employees cost you millions and millions of dollars what would you do??? Kwame is a public servent that has cost us the tax payers whose money run this city millions and millions of dollars. Not just nine million, because everytime he apporve a bid on a city contract and that contractor over charges the city, he's taking money from us. Just like a bank manager allowing a bank robber to steal from a bank that money belongs to the people not to the person whose operating the bank. That bank robber should go to jail and the manager should be remove from his position and go to jail too. Kwame is stealing from the bank of Detroit. You know what I hate the most is the continuous attempst of manipulation. Barbara Rose Collins and Martha just took the "cake" yesterday, all he had to do is fed them and they changed their minds about the "windsor" tunnel; I mean how pathetic.

I'm sorry I meant continuous attempts. I have fought for this city all of my life, and to see the crimes that are being committed by our elected public officials that people have entrusted it breaks my heart. To listen to people like 92.3 Frankie Darcell stand up for the wrongful crimes they these crooks have committed is truly heartrending, I mean to know that so many people stand for wrong. Furthermore, we can't cover it up that's one of the reasons that it has gone to this level. Besides whats done and the dark always come to light. Aagain I thank the free press, detroit news and all of the news stations.

I'm right there with you Springthing! I appreciate knowing what's going on. Although I hate the fact that people dog our City soooo bad because of the media. It's still a great city, just some butholes running it.Don't put down the people who are trying to make it great. Start helping!

Loveli1,

People dog the city because of all the violence that keeps happening. I would love to see the kids fight to settle their differences, rather than get a gun. I am just sick of seeing the deep wounds that will never heal in the mothers faces. I thought of moving downtown but being in a wheelchair I know I would be a rolling target. That and the fact there are no major food chains in the city for me to roll too.

I would like to thank Springthing for such an eloquent and intelligent response. I don't live in the city but I come down for sporting events. I know that the Mayor of Detroit is a cornerstone to bringing work to all of Metro Detroit, and as such we all need him to be respectable and above reproach.

I'm all for a city wide protest and recall. Afterall, If we want the news to report some really positive things about our government we need to do some real housecleaning and get the right people in office this time, not because of their moma and husband name or the color of their skin. It's people that we have never heard of, that can run this city like a charm. It's time to think outside of the box. Get some new officials who aren't going to use our city for their personal cash cow. I agree we have talked about it and talked about it but now its time to do something about it. We need to come up with some feasible solutions that can lead to a drastic positive change, especially when it comes to our children. It's time for us to either get up or give up.

Tall,
It's safe hardly antwhere! Sorry for your situation and I wouldn't suggest it either(moving Downtown). But you could easily be decapitated in Novi or cut to pieces in Sterling Heights so what are you gonna do. The Mayor should be the cornerstone, but this Mayor has to go! Unfortunately Now we'll stuck with someone smart enough to cover his tracks.

Hey reese the non detroiter thing is way past getting old. KK and his arrogance and stupid moves since day one have made this an international fiasco and all can comment at will. Also his faults, issues should be correctly stated as his crimes.

I know I can always depend on the news media to cover the lastest and breaking news. So, why is it that when I came to myfoxdetroit.com looking for the latest in the city council scandal, I had to dig and search. Could it be because FOX 2's own Fanchon Stinger is associated and/or romantically involved with the lead person being investigated by the FBI. Hmmm, I wonder? I don't hear the reports about "ties to Fanchon Stinger" the way I heard "ties to the mayor!" Isn't it amazing the way this whole media thing goes. Everyone has so much to say about what the mayor is doing as if he is not human. So, is Fanchon just as guilty! Should we target her and talk bad about her next! Didn't hear too much about ther "bar brawl" involving Carmen Harlen's son either on the news. I guess Carmen's perfect too!

Something perceptive that was stated is the fact that we have someone in office right who is smart enough to cover his tracks. If anything that is an understatement. That man is an incredible genius when it comes to the business of complex underhanded dealings. People forget that Kilpatrick has a law degree because he looks like a big grinning oaf. I wouldn't put anything past the legal and mostly illegal dealings he is tangled in. I praise the media for shedding light on his criminal empire. Like anyone from this city I would love to see this dark chapter in Detroit's history put behind us. The only way this is ever going to happen is for someone, like the media, to untangle kilpatricks and possibly our not so esteemed city councils web of deceit and slight of hand tricks. Put it all out there for the citizens of Detroit and the nation to see. Maybe many lessons will be learned about how power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Only then will we be able to turn the page and let Detroit shine again.

Because others have done it before him, we should just ignore it? Unbelievable. The reason for the outrage from citizens outside Detroit...........because we are not seeing it from where it should be coming from....the residents themselves!

Only a fool can't see how corupt Detroit the city council and Mayor is, And I am sick of the people of detroit whineing about there presious Mayor. He soooooooooooooooooo good. Fanchon doesn`t hold the check book for a whole city or peoples careers in her hand amanda. And she does not have a shady past and is not up on charges like KK either. Big differences in circumstances.
