Want to do something that won't burn a lot of gas but can bring a family together why not try Edward Hines Park on a Saturday .

 Saturday in the Park

A six mile section of Hines Drive is closed to automobiles from Outer Drive Road going west to Ann Arbor Trail, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Saturday from May 3 through September 27, 2008 for walking, cycling, or inline skating. Parking is available at the Nankin Mills Picnic Area [Hines Drive and Ann Arbor Trail].

I copied that from this website. there is also a dog park and a pool www.waynecounty.com/parks/

Tall-glad you mentioned the park, haven't been in a couple of years, now planning to go again.
Instead of the news orgs. (ALL of them) repeating over and over ad nauseum the high gas prices, cost of food, etc., I wish they would feature a Michigan thing-to-do, as you have. This state is so rich in activity it is amazing!
It wouldn't hurt anyone to get away from the $3000.00 dollar flat screen, $500.00 dollar I-Pods and Blackberries, $500.00 video games and $2000.00 computers, Quit b*tching about not having money and get creative. See you at the park-bring a Frisbee. I'll bring the horseshoes!

I used to hang out in Hines Park near Telegraph; And I used to commute from Detroit to Plymouth & Stark Roads & it was so convenient to only have to stop (maybe) at two or three lights. Hines has always been the spot!

My mother use to work at Plymouth State Home for Children and told us about Edward Hines Park. We used to go there years ago. It started to get rowdy so we stop going.

I am an American Indian. I developed Muscular Dystrophy in 2001 at the ripe old age of 44. I spend my days mostly on line and with my Ex-wife, and kids. I guess you could say I'm a Democrat but I am most interested in what any candidate can do to improve the world in which we live. I know I really spell poorly but I take solace in the fact that neither could Einstein. LOL
