Father, daughter accused of running prostitution ring

EAST TAWAS -- A 43-year-old man and his 22-year-old daughter have been arraigned on charges related to running an Arenac County prostitution ring.

Roger Burgess of Turner Township and April Stokr of Battle Creek are being held without bond in the county jail following their arraignment Wednesday on several counts of criminal sexual conduct. Michigan State Police say the assaults occurred at Burgess' home during a two-year period that ended more than a year ago.

Authorities say the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported their daughter had been assaulted at the home. Police also say the girl and others were forced into prostitution.

The court said Thursday Burgess and Stokr do not have attorneys. A message was left Thursday at the county jail for Burgess and Stokr.

A status conference has been set for Monday.

Sometimes I wonder if Sodom and Gomorrah are being rebuilt?

Tall,
What sounds like immoral, unnatural, illegal, tasteless, irrational and creepy behavior to people like you and me, who are law abiding and moral citizens, happens all the time, depending on one's circle of family or friends. It's just like the incest that occurs around the hills of southern Indiana, which most would consider as abhorent as the story you posted. Even people who show anti-social behaviors have free will ... but luckily suffer the legal consequences when they get caught.

you do protest for immoral behaivor and I am not talking about this post.

I am sure you agree with the ACLU and naral with their man/boy love stance.

I just find it humorous how you pick and choose what is immoral quote the bible then almost melt down in defence of others that practice immoral lifestyles.

well see i do not have to look at it to say i agree even they have to live up a moral value. however if you look at those that have been hung up in something they are no longer in office. GOP tends to take care of that unlike the deomcrats say like Barney Frank.

I am an American Indian. I developed Muscular Dystrophy in 2001 at the ripe old age of 44. I spend my days mostly on line and with my wife, and kids. I guess you could say I'm a Democrat but I am most interested in what any candidate can do to improve the world in which we live.
