Some People keep saying that Kwame just had an affair and should be excused for his behavior.

Had this just been an affair it wouldn't have been really anything we should all be upset about.

It's Firing Good Officers, and dragging their reputations through the mud.

It's about having the privilege of being an officer of the court (Lawyer) and placing yourself above the Law (Perjury).

It's about possibly being tied into a murder. I'm human and you are, should they be excused? I say No Way

I am asking the Council to do it's job and ask Governor Jennifer Granholm to remove Kwame Kilpatrick as soon as she can.

So much more than some want to admit! They try to hide behind it being all about private sex and they never mention the 4 Police officers! I think Car needs to repost his list of everything the Mayor has done so these idiots cant say this is only about sex!
By the way how is your health?

Tall I guess you did not hear the warning shot to the Gov. stay out or else there will be a revolt. It was a council memeber who said this yesterday.

Hi Guys, One of the whistleblower police called the mayor and EPU the "Mafia". And he said he is not exaggerating. "It's a sad time for Detroit". Is he the next 'Teflon Don?'

It's about an affair allright! The affairs of the city being administered in a sinister. underhanded manner. It's about US paying $8 million hard-earned dollars for someone's personal extra-marital affair. It's about the mayor and Ms.Beatty asking me to pay for THEIR motel rooms, spas (and to help them find a way to meet in Houston ) using the money I pay for city services. That's why Detroiter's (past and present) are so overwhelmed about the audacity of Kilpatrick, Beatty, Bully-Cummings all who malfeasoned city-funds ; abused power and ground their feet on the people of Detroit, and Michigan. We are affected in one way or another. And if, the mayor didn't want to be demonized , bashed, and wanted to be the family man and protect his family's dignity and privacy , He should have used his own cashola. I don't equate love for my city, with defending the undefendable. I will gladly forgive him when he tucks in his sorry tail, wipe that dumb smirk off his face and leaves town with his entourage!

Tallmanok2 Right on! I do wish this affair of Kwame Kilpatrick's was all about an extra-marital affair. If that were the case we would not be commenting. It is pretty hard to ignore when these text messages involve possible criminal activities among the top city administrators with the mayor and his Chief-of Staff's direct manipulation. The "reorganization " of the police Department, firings of officers investigating the "non-party", and the alledged felonious assault and later murder of one of the "non-party's "entertainers. It's about the participants in this extra-marital affair having the cunningness to try and find ways for tax-payer dollars to fund their salacious trips, hotel and spa accomodations. It's about the very phones utilized being "city phones. Why make the villan the victim? Why shouldn't everyone comment? The mayor obviously thinks it's funny. He laughs at city-council's motions to remove him, and investigate the misuse of city monies. He smirked while he was being arraigned. He seems to be the only one laughing. His family's health and well-being is his family's responsibility. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE PUT THEM IN HARMS WAY. yes it's wrong to victimize his children and her children. By that same token it was wrong for him to use their children (under oath) to explain his and Beatty's relationship as surrogate aunts and uncles. Someone should direct the trauma this has caused the children. ahe also is the one who has used race and city-vs suburbs to distract the public from his and his cronies wrong doings. You don't have to be anti-Detroit to c

criticize it's "leaders" and the costly mistakes made at the polls. I hope we learn some lessons here and don't repeat the same mistakes. We never should have voted for someone because they made 2 hit records 40 years ago. There is no way a council person should be eleced as vice-President of City Council because of their 80 year old husband.

There's only 800,00 people left in Detroit . He has allready cost Detroit 10,000,000 + in his " Personal Affairs " . That works out to be about 12.5 bucks per resident . I say they have allready donated to this mayor . So , lets buy him some tissue , and send him off to prison .

I have been guilty of voting for people because of name recognition. I see how wrong that was. Blind trust had nothing to do with it. Just plain lazy was the culprit. I'll never do that again. However, who ever I help put into office still had an obligation to live up to their vowels of office. I will never vote straight Democrat or Republican. I use to split my ballot years ago, time for that way of thinking again.

I love seeing Kwame running all around the city all of a sudden everyday, making all these big reviatlization plans to try and draw attention away from what he has finally been caught doing, BLEEDING THE SITY DRY. It will come out that the 8 million is just the tip of the iceberg, what about all of the wages and perks of his family, friends, lawyers and co-conspiritors he has in office. Also all the extra shady dealings he has pulled off. We now know how Carlita got the new navigator!! The new Florida house etc. How about this new budget?? It is based on MAYBE MONEY and council has to approve it by June 30th or else. What a sad situation Detroit is in.

Get ready for the old " We'll have to close down the City " tactic , where Kwame will blame the counsil for not approving his budget .

Yes, KK is an a##hole. The thing that really gets to me about this whole situation is that there are STILL Detroiters who support the mayor-it's not about the sex, it IS about you using close to 10 mil in tax dollars to cover it up. How is it that people can't see this!?!?

Yo Schock...aren't scare tactics great!!! LOL...the deputy mayor did already say that they would have to layoff city workers if the budget isn't approved. Unfortunately, he's not going to layoff the mayor, they're not going to reduce the councils budget, they're not going reduce the councils staff...they'll just layoff more people that are of neccessity like police and fire safety. I still say there must be SOMETHING in the city charter to hold the administration and/or council accountable that jeopardizes the health, safety, and welfare of the city in the midst of exhorbitant spending on personal representation or financial gain.

I am an American Indian. I developed Muscular Dystrophy in 2001 at the ripe old age of 44. I spend my days mostly on line and with my wife, and kids. I guess you could say I'm a Democrat but I am most interested in what any candidate can do to improve the world in which we live. I know I really spell poorly but I take solace in the fact that neither could Einstein. LOL
