Susanne's Blog

When I got my new (used) stove, I was excited to find out that it had a rotisserie feature.  I have since made a dozen or so rotisserie chickens.  But, as good as they are, I can't help but think there may be more I can do.

Then, luckly, I found a Farberware Rotisserie open faced unit at a Goodwill type store near my parents.  I snatched that bad boy up and am going to use it for a Christmas present.  The only thing is...I have no manual.

So, here are my TWO questions:

1.  Do you have a great recipe for a rotisserie?

2.  Do you know WHERE I can find a manual for a Farberware Roitesserie model 444 or 454?   (I looked on-line for about 1/2 hour and found only one manual--for sale on e-bay)

Thanks

Susanne

Susanne - My parents have that same Faberware rotisserie! Back in the 80's my dad used that thing all the time, but no longer uses it. I will go look at it to see if it's the model your looking for and see if my dad still has the manual (which he probably does)

I will get back to you on this!

Here is one I found plus links to others:

2 (3 to 4 pound) whole chickens, rinsed and trimmed of excess fat
Olive oil, for brushing chickens
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Special Equipment: rotisserie rod

Preheat the grill to medium-high. Brush the chickens with oil and season the outside and cavities with salt and pepper. Skewer the chickens onto the rotisserie rod and grill, on the rotisserie, for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and just cooked through. Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Hi Susanne - I didn't forget about you! I found my parents Faberware rotisserie and it is the same one you have, model #444 454
However I cannot find the manual! I will have to ask my dad (and he is not home right now) if he still has the book. I would say yes he does cuz he pretty much saves everything but I don't want to get your hopes up just yet.

I will keep you posted.

Hi Susanne, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. My dad doesn't know where the Faberware book is! lol I'm sure it's here somewhere but the question is where?!?! If by some chance I find it someday, I will let you know.
