What do you think, Detroit Lions fans?

Here is the banner I am bringing to the game on 10-26-08, when the Lions play the Redskins. My goal is to get the attention of Fox Sports, Fox 2 Detroit and ESPN to promote the exorcism of the Detroit Lions on national TV.

The idea behind the banner is to encourage the Lions to free themselves of whatever has not been working since the 1950's so they can resurge to once again play like champions.

It may be as simple as getting a new logo to replace "Bubbles" the Lion. An emblem of Bubbles is on the helmet of each and every player. The Lions are not Bubble Heads. Bobble Heads are good, Bubble Heads are not good. I am recommending that Mr. Ford consider going back to the logo used during the 1950's, when the team was of championship caliber.

The exorcism or purging may be as complex as beating the curse of Bobby Layne, much like the Boston Red Sox beat the 86 year old curse of the Bambino to win the world series in 2004.

The solution to the woes of the Lions might even be found somewhere else on the continuum between the simple and complex.

Lions players, management and fans will know when the purging and resurging is beginning:

  • When the team adds up more wins than losses.
  • When the players are asking more questions than they are answering.

In any event, it is time for an exorcism. Watch for the banner to show up on TV this Sunday afternoon. If Jim Leyland's brother, Father Tom Leyland (A Catholic priest) is at the game, I ask that he look for the banner and join me in section 101, row 34 at Ford Field. I'll need some help to start this exorcism. Purge And Resurge!

Go Lions!

(Thanks to Sign-A-Rama for putting my idea on vinyl).

Hi, Shock.
Kathy and I went to the game with her dad and brother-in-law. I won the tickets from the Rollin' With Roy Fox 2 Detroit contest. It was fun, but the Lions lost, 25-17.

I brought the banner, but like you noticed, the game wasn't on local TV due to a local blackout. Oh, well. It was still a fun day at Ford Field.

I even got to participate in the field goal contest before the game started. Can you picture what my mug looked like on the big screen at Ford Field with about 50,000 people watching? The embarrassing part, though, was when I did more of an on-side kick than a 25 yard field goal. I should've practiced. It was still fun.

My next challenge is bowling against Calvin Johnson, the Lions wide receiver. He's taking Roy Williams place since Roy was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. And yes, the Cowboys have cheerleaders and we don't!

I'm sure I'll do better with the bowling than I did with the field goal competition.

Thanks for the comment! Hope all is well on your end.

I'll bet your mug looked pretty good up there on those millions of led's .
Did you screw up the kick because you had stage fright , or because they waited for the second round to draft you ?
Hopefully I will be able to catch a re-run of the game on one of my sports channels .
I'll keep an eye out for it .
Meanwhile , it's getting colder , and coffee is better when it's cold .

I wasn't nervous. I think my foot was in the wrong position to kick the ball off the tee. The whole experience was quite a rush!

Coffee does sound good. What about this coming Monday, 11-3-08, at 10:00am? Same place.

A recent trip to Hooters in Roseville, MI. yielded the following photos in support of the Lions Purging and Resurging process. Thanks to all the Hooters girls, and especially to Nisa and Arizona, for being such good sports. [Notice that Nisa and Arizona are sporting the Stooltime Counseling ball caps in the last picture. The caps continue to be on sale on my website].
