How do you feel about FOX dumping the tv broadcast?  Whether you are a fan or not, you can't say that dumping any sports event without an alternative is anything less than brutal.  Does anyone else have an opinion???

It was foolish, why didn't fox give us an alternative, like fox sports. They should have but the Tigers on Fox Sports Channel, and left Nascar alone!!! I am one of many ticked of viewers, my phone ringing from different cities, to see if it was comcast, wow, etc., seems it was Fox decision to screw the Nascar Fans, I am turning off my fox detroit, no more bones, amer idol for me, can't say i will miss it, to busy being pissed off.

I totally agree...I think somebody really screwed up by dumping NASCAR! I instantly turned off FOX when that happened. I think the race would have brought a hell of a lot more ratings than a baseball game that meant absolutely nothing, against a team that sucks, and the fact that there are...oh about 150 games left in the season! Way to go FOX you just lost a bunch of viewers. I will rather turn on my radio or satellite than watch the 2 remaining races on FOX. Nice bonehead move....

While anyone knows that the weather can't be predicted, I can with certain predict the response NASCAR fans will have if FOX decides to drop their coverage of a NASCAR race for a baseball game, and not switch the broadcast to another one of the many FOX sports channels offered. For NASCAR fans such as myself, we don't give two hoots about other sports. Great for those fans, let them have at it! But, if you weren't planning on broadcasting the finish of the race, why broadcast any of it at all? Let NBC or ESPN have it, they do a better job anyway. In case none of you have realized, the outcome of the race isn't determined until the FINISH. This generally comes at the end of the race. While we thoroughly enjoy the laps leading up to the finish, we feel that the actual final lap is very important.

I agree FOX 2 should be put in the hall of shame. Isn't ther like 7 Tiger games on TV a week!?!?! I wonder what has a hiher viewer rating NASCAR or the Tigers!

I wonder if FOX Detroit reads these blogs...If so they need to do a poll over a news telecast (a pull where the viewer calls or logs on to their site) that reads:

Given the number of Tiger games televised during a week compared to 1 Nextel Cup Race do you agree with FOX2 dumping Nascar over the Tigers.

its to bad we live in the motor city but have the worst auto racing coverage, unless its something bad. I have been all over the country and Detroit news media is the worst

What got me even more was how they just dropped in with no acknowledgement of the switch over. Not to mention, they cut in several times previously. Did they do it during commercials? No, they waited until coverage began again, then would switch in to tell us the game was still postponed due to rain... then continue talking about other stats that I could give a %#&% about. Show the damn race and run a ticker to state the game was postponed. When it was time to return, switch one of the events to another broadcast. Seemed pretty obvious.
