What happened to the Cardinals tonight?  Will the Cards win the Wild Card?  Etc....etc...

I want to hear your input and good discussion on what is in store for the Cardinals for the remainder of 2008.  Whether it be talking about an excellent outing (18-3 win) or a 12-0 loss - your opinions are wanted.

Yes, we'll see some whiners on here and yes some know-it-alls but BRING IT so we can state our objections!

Ok - after I pressed SEND to create the blog, the Brewers have scored 2 runs making it a 7-0 lead. LaRussa is now walking out there taking Thompson out.

I think our pitching will end up costing us the Wild Card. Should we pursue KRod from the Angels? That guy is awesome with I think either 50 or 51 saves so far this year.

Looks like a lot of wimps out there so I'll give ya my thoughts...The Cards royally sucked last night...You created your blog only at 5-0 too...A major league ball club losing 12-0 is pathetic...Yes Pujols is in a slump but last night the entire lineup was...We've virtually proven that we have no place in the playoffs...

Great job last night it sounded like a Rams loss by that high score. Any suggestions on what needs to happen in order to get into the playoffs?

OUCH! Yeah, I noticed that when I started the blog and actually came on to update the lead to 7-0. Little did I know!

I am surprised I haven't heard from the other Cards fans on this. This loss was definitely not a loss on LaRussa's shoulders.

It's a matter of seeing the ball - being the ball! Maybe tonight we can make last night's 12 run deficit a wash by winning 1-0?

Let's hope!

i think ya got some whimpy bloggers there. so i just it that the cardinals just stink lately. they are going no where and you can tell by their attitude nothing is happening. i usually turn it off after they start losing by three or more but they in this one still.

That's a winner! A come from behind win and a successful close - you can't ask for more. I guess the blog/room will get busier after a bad decision is made and a loss occurs.

Cards will win the wildcard. After that great win in game 2 of the brewers series and seeing pujols get fired up and the cards responding, that is the spark we needed to go on a run. We believe now and have momemtum. I predict a nice win streak like 9 of 10, 7 in a row something along those lines as well as a take over of first in the wildcard race by this time 2 weeks from now.

Unless there are some major changes I can't see us surpassing the Brewers. The Phillies are sneaking up on us and by the weekend who knows. If the Cards end up taking the Wild Card this means that Carp is back because without him there's no way.

I am wondering if the Cubs will joke this playoff season or will they go to the Series? Any thoughts?

Just saw the Cards lose it to Berkman's walk off homer that might have gone 355 feet...I hate playing in Houston because of the short outfields...In St. Louis Berkman's walk off would have been a simple pop fly...I also dislike the hill in the deep outfield along with the pole...Lohse pitched a great game just got the ND.

oh what a tremendous loss against the team in the cellar. The bad thing is by the end of next week we might be seeing the astros on our butt too. I agree about minute-maid park it's wierd and obviously designed for the hometeam. That left field is little league distance.

The Cards season ended last night. It's time to figure out who you think will truly win the big game and the Cubs look good.

Yes, the Cards are done except for the mathematical equations and PRAYER! When you cannot beat a team that was nearly 8-10 games behind you - that is pathetic.

Now the whiners cannot blame a blown save on Izzy. The bats were dead and we were in Houston of all places, come on, it's what about 325' for a left field homer?

If the Cards cannot make it then I guess I'll have to support the Cubbies, they are from the state just north of me - Chicago.

Let's at least see Pujols hit 35 homeruns, 100+ RBI's and runs scored, and BA of .360 - and be MVP for the NL.

The Cards flat out suck! Slamming 4 homers in one game let alone the first 4 innings should prove to be a winner. Did LaRussa pull Pineiro too early? He only went 5 innings and had 82 pitches while Johnson had 101 pitches in only 3.2 innings.

It's all about our bullpen and that's where we lose each game (or most of them). If our starter gets in trouble with bases juiced and 1 out - so what! Do you want to put McClellan in to pitch up a homer or the let the guy that loaded the bases empty them?

As for disliking Chicago - I agree totally but the State of Chicago does have some good teams. The Cubs are really hot (even though they scored zilch today) and have both hitters and pitchers - therefore they will win nearly 100 games.

fbca7: As long as the season is still going it's paydirt to talk about the Cards. The Rams won't get any airtime until America's past time is over and that'll be on September 28th for the Cards.

If we cannot make the playoffs then I guess I'll have to support the Cubs - I guess I'll just wait and see who actually makes it because they (Cubs) can still do their normal thing - CHOKE!

2nd game against DBacks on 9/2/08...It looks like the Cards might hit another four homeruns in a game but this time they might possibly win it...Wainwright was awesome at throwing and hitting...The Cubs are still playing in the 11th inning tied up at 7...Brewers have already lost in extras so the Cards need to react.

What a lousy finish to an excellent start of Lohse today. We were up 3-0 and lost it (of course) in the 9th, 4-3. Man this is getting old.

Nice! Another one huge run scored and a blown save equals one thing - LOSS! After September 28th the "Boys of Summer" will be watching the playoffs in the comfort of their own homes.

I challenge them to try and retain at least 3rd place. I can see Houston passing us and grabbing 3rd slot - terrible!

i would say that its safe the cards are done...with tonights series losing loss theres nowhere to go...the cubs have been revived and are now motivated to win more while houston will take the wild card...sit back and frown...

Well, the Cards finally won their first game in about 5 attempts. They beat the lowly Reds 5-4. We just got swept by the terrible Pirates and with tonight's win have surpassed last years win total!

When the playoffs start this will be a great time for Cardinal management to sit down and start the "axing". I believe it's time for LaRussa and crew to go. Change is needed in order to create a more positive outcome.

So, any Cards fans going to support the Cubs? I am just because it's been over 100 years and it's time for the State of Chicago to win another series - this time in the NL.

what no comment on this afternoons cubs meltdown...ole zambrano went just 1 2/3 and gave up 8 earned runs...we finally got them 12-6 but their magic number still went down...it'd be nice to sweep them and have them win division not on our account...go cards keep ruining it temporarily for those cubs...
