Hey guys – it’s summer and that means you’ll see many boys and girls playing baseball or softball.  Some are Parks and Recreation leagues while others are Select leagues – both are competitive and fun to watch.

If you have free time on a given day/evening go out and support your local team.  Every seat is a cheap seat.  And, if you are a company looking to sponsor a team, talk to a coach and he/she will tell you what they need.

It’s all about SUPPORTING our youth.  Yes, I know baseball isn’t the only thing that happens during the summer … but it is for us!

Please post any tournament dates for the blogging community.

Since any acts of STUPIDITY (rudeness) are not legally a misdemeanor yet - I will delete any rude remarks from experienced jerks. I do have the right to discriminate!

Hey there Kelly - I posted my 4 blogs from an agents computer and didn't know how many responses I'd get on this one. So is your son eight and playing Tball? I know most communities go to at least coach-pitch or machine pitch for ages 6-8. After 8 years of age it should then be either coach-pitch or player pitch.

We've been playing a lot of games and have a ton of makeups because of the rain. I think we have like 4 doubleheaders coming up.

How are things with you?

He is 7....he could play little league if he was 8. He is playing coach pitch...yes. They start games next week. We have missed out on the practices b/c of the rain...

Coach pitch will be great for him. Make sure that you practice hitting and fielding with him at home. The coaches pitching to him means he'll have some excellent stats. The downside is the other team will have some hits too so fielding is crucial at that age.

Hey Tommy - well if you still like to watch games there are tons of tournaments coming up and lots of regular season play in both IL and MO.

We were at a 12U game this evening in Shiloh - great game and some good pitching on the one team. I think the dude went a complete game and had to have over 10 strikeouts. I believe they won by a few. Does anyone know of any good tournaments coming up?

Hey there Kelly, he isn't too young to play baseball. I have Aaron who is 6 in coach/pitch. It is so cute to watch. Like you, I agree, it needs to stop raining so they can get their games in. We signed him up through the Rec Plex.....

Hi ya Speedy, long time no blog......

What's up Connie....how are you?

Yeah, no kid is too young for baseball but they need to be placed in the correct leagues.

For instance, tonight we had a game in Shiloh IL with a 12U league and 2 of the batters were about 7 year old build (like my child). The only reasoning I could come up with is it must have been the coaches son therefore a "pee wee" is playing up.

Both kids went 0 for 2 (4 K's) so it obviously was the coaches kid or a "buddy" of the coach that wanted his kid on the team.

What a sweaty night for a doubleheader!

Been doing okay Speedy. Michael our 3 year old had his tonsils out and tubes put in both ears this past Tuesday. We had to stay overnight in the hospital only for precautionary measures...he has sleep apnea....it sucked. Had it done at Des Peres. Nice people, very nice but I don't recommend it. We were told to be there at 5 a.m. and the surgery wasn't until after 8 a.m. Not right to do that to a 3 year old. Cutest patient on the floor though. LOL

Aaron loves playing baseball. He can't wait for it every week. He is always praying that it doesn't rain. I think we have finally found his sport.

how ya doing speedy?

We've seen some great baseball both in Missouri and Illinois. Maryland Heights has a nice little set up for little league while the new diamonds at O'Fallon are excellent. Heck, they even have WiFi so you can surf while watching a game.

I am me. I've been blogging since the term existed but began here in March 2007. I am completing my Doctorate of CS (Common Sense). I like a harsh debate but when ego gets involved we all tend (except ego-tripper) to shy away. I am a firm believer that STUPIDITY should be a misdemeanor.
