MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF LEVI STUBBS. THANK YOU LEVI FOR YOUR YEARS OF GREAT MUSIC. HONEST CLEAN MUSIC AND ALWAYS A GREAT APPEARANCE AND CLASSY DRESS CODE. I'M 59 AND GREW UP WITH THE MOTOWN SOUND, I LOVE THE 4 TOP'S MUSIC. AS A TEEN I WENT TO MOTOWN REVIEWS IN DETROIT, I ALSO DANCED ON CLUB 1270. AND WJLB WITH MARTHA JEAN THE QUEEN WAS MY STATION. I HAVE MANY OF THE OLD 4 TOPS ALBUMS. BERNADETTE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I HAVE A DAUGHTER BERNADETTE, WHEN SHE WAS LITTLE I WAS TELLING HER ABOUT MY OLD ALBUMS. HER RESPONSE WAS "WHAT'S AN ALBUM DAD".
THANKS LEVI,
NICK BONDAREK

To me Levi Stubbs was the absolute SOUL of Motown. When I was coming up in the early days of Motown, everybody was David Ruffin this and David Ruffin that. The Four Tops was always my favorite Motown Male group. Yes the Temps had numerous songs I absolutely loved. But the TOPS were something special. To me, Baby I Need Your Loving was the ANTHEM for MOTOWN.

I had the fortune of seeing the Four Tops in Dearborn in 2005. Obie Benson had just died weeks earlier. When they brought Levi out on that stage, there wasn't a dry eye in that park that night. Screams from every direction including me yelling WE LOVE YOU LEVI.

This Beautiful Soul and fabulous Baritone voice will never be replaced. The prettiest song that ever came out of Motown in my opinion was, JUST ASK THE LONELY.

If anything, if any of his family members see this I want them to know How much we will miss this man. How much his Music has meant to us. And how Levi Stubbs will never be forgotten. I can also only imagine what the last living member of the Tops is feeling. Duke Farkir, this man I know is hurting something terrible. May God ease all of their pain, family members and friends. The music world lost a Legend Friday. A man who was the epitome of Style, Class and Defined the Sound of Motown.

There will never be another Levi.

Levi is immortal! Even before Motown, Detroit already had a history surrounding music. It kept evolving.

Levi Stubbs had considerably more influence on my life than Levi Strauss.
I will NEVER forget listening to GREAT Motown songs like "Baby, I Need Your Loving" and "Standing in the Shadows of Love" on CKLW and Keener 13 in the 60's.
As the Righteous Brothers sang, "If There's a Rock and Roll Heaven, Well You Know They've Got a Hell of a Band"!
...and the Levi Stubbs IS the lead singer of THAT band!

There isn't, and will never be, another voice like Levi's.

We love you.

Farewell my friend.

One of the great singers of our time. He put his heart into every song he sang. Most importantly he had loyalty to his friends and never got tempted to go out on his own. You don't see much of that loyalty anymore. Levi, God Bless you, and when you get to Heaven, say HI to David, Marvin, Tammy and all the other's that we lost too soon.

+ + Will The Fairness Doctrine Silence The Conservative Voice?

Will 2009 usher in a fanatical push to re-instate the so-called
Fairness Doctrine? Such a move would effectively silence the
conservative voice and remove the last conservative stronghold
against a fast-moving liberal agenda.

James & Lydia, One need only read the words of Dianne
Feinstein to see the true threat to conservative speech that is
brewing on the horizon!

"Talk radio tends to be one-sided. It also tends to
be dwelling in hyperbole. It's explosive. It pushes
people to, I think, extreme views without a lot of
information ... I'm looking at the [Fairness Doctrine]...
Unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way."

Recognizing this threat, the Media Research Center has created
the Free Speech Alliance which is a coalition of organizations
and citizens strongly opposed to any such move to limit or
undermine our Free Speech Rights!

Please take a moment right now to join the hundreds of
thousands of Americans who oppose the Fairness Doctrine and
all that it stands for by clicking here:

I just found this because I was looking at all the entertainment blogs in the Fox2 house.
I know all the songs on Little Shop of Horrors and it is a movie that I have shared with my mother for years. It's just a lot of fun singing with Levi!
