Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is back in Michigan, and he's directly addressing issues that are important to our state.  But is he just paying lip service, or does he have some practical solutions for the economic crisis affecting Michigan?  Sound off below.

Someone care to elaborate on what Obama's solutions are ...hope ...change ...history ...the future? Or maybe socialism -- 'from each according to his means to each according to his needs'? He seems to know who is rich and how to redistribute their wealth, i.e oil companies and capital gains taxes -- both affect most retirement plans. I've never heard the word 'experience' used in conjunction with his name. Looks like Libs have lost their 'color-blindness'. All they've concentrated on is sex and race. Besides, have you heard this guy speak without a teleprompter? He makes Bush sound like a genius. Haven't Democrats destroyed Michigan enough, between the gov and mayor. How much BS are you willing to swallow. What arrogance...

I am 45 years old, in jeperty of losing my home because of losing my job at EDS. I know whats going on. Also every since I could vote, I remember the US being in a recession doing the republic terms. I'm telling everyone we need a change. Another term with republican can detroy the very fabric of our country. I beleive you have to be for all the people not just republic or demacrat party views. I believe Obama's understands that.

I am sick to death already listening to everybody go on and on about Obama, like he is the second coming of Christ.

In Neon lights, """"" THE GREAT OBAMA """"""
Visits Detroit. Who cares?

Kerry came to Taylor, Mi. in 2004. I was there, and I shook his hand at the third base line of the ball field that all the Mi. Dems played a softball game at. After his rally & speech. I worked the phones on Election day for his campaign. I don't remember any Hoopla because he came here. HE IS A POLITICIAN. THEY WILL ALL VISIT HERE.

OBAMA, OBAMA, OBAMA

What is so special about this man?
He is a Politician. Politicians VISIT ALL AREA'S OF THE COUNTRY.

And I'm also sick & tired of this African American crap label. He wasn't born in Africa. And his mother is white.

I'm American of Italian decent. I'm not Italian/American. My Grandparents were that.

You know something, karol? You are part of the problem, not the solution. It's vogue to blame everything on Bush, so you are just another blind sheep following the flock.

Now for reality. While I am not a huge Bush fan, and I have criticized some of his policies, the fact remains that the United States has not had ONE SINGLE ATTACK in the past 7 years! Too many people like you take that for granted.

Personally, I don't see a Civil Liberties Law Professor with only 2 years in the Senate, NO administrative experience and NO military experience, keeping us safe from terrorism.

Change! Change! Change! My A$$!

I'm sick of the Obama parade as well. This guy says a lot, but his policies don't make sense. Typical Politician! He talks about how he will get Detroit automakers to produce "plug-in" cars. Now how in the Hell is he personally going to dictate to private industry what cars to manufacture? PUH-LEEZE!

Sabrinasmithm, if you could spell maybe you would still have your job or have gotten another one by now that pays better. I have lost my job 3 times in the past 6 years and each time I have gotten a better paying job all on my own! No help from the government thank you. Where the hell do you think Obama is going to get all of this money to pay for these so-called programs? Michigan has been labeled the "hand-out" state for decades, now he wants to make the United States "hand-out heaven" from coast to coast! 4000 dollar tax credits for each college student, each year they are in school. Higher wages for teachers, like the ones in Detroit who don't give a crap about their students, just where their next outing paid for by taxpayers is going to be. Government paid education for anyone who wants to be a teacher. Healthcare for every American. Tax the heck out of businesses so they move out of this country. DRASTICALLY cut the military and its budget by making friends with radical dictators begging them not to terrorize us, making the most powerful nation cower at their feet. WAKE UP, this LIBERAL is going to really RUIN this country making every soldiers life from WWI who died defending it, worthless! Obama blamed GW Bush for the mess of the Detroit education system, it is not his fault, it is the dummies who are put in place RIGHT HERE IN DETROIT who are to blame! Calling Governor Granholm one of the best governors in the nation! PLEASE!!! Did he go out drinking before his speech? McCain may not be a true Republican, but he is WAY better than this inexperienced clown!

OMIGOD! Punctuation please! Your posts are impossible to follow!

As to the war, Bush did not go into it alone! It was voted on by the entire Congress. It passed 77 - 23...with both Clinton and Kerry voting FOR THE WAR!

Get YOUR head out of the sand, karol! Politicians are politicians. Obama is no different than any other. He is McGovern without the military experience...he is Dukakis without the executive experience...he is Kerry without the Senate experience.

LOL, in his speech he said he was going to bring jobs back here building WINDMILLS and solar plants that generate solar energy! LOL!! OMG, how do you generate solar energy? Isn't solar energy from the sun, not generated? We get to go from the MOTOR CITY to the WINDMILL capital! Ha, Ha, Ha! This guy is a joke, why does no one see through the clouds on him? Go ahead and pull out of Iraq, bring the troops home and lay them off! Cut all of our military like Carter did so you can make the lazy more lazy waiting for their welfare checks. If he is as great of a Senator, running for the highest office in the land, why can he not shake a stick at congress so they get off their butts and do what they promised they would when YOU, not me elected them! Approval rating lower than GW Bush, this has to tell you something!

Sorry, I have alot to say and hate it to be cut off when I use punctuation.
I listened to his speech today and was waiting for him to get down in front of Al Gore and perform a sex act on him!
Sounds like Al Gore will be his Secretary of Energy if elected. He can do Michigan a favor and take Jenny and Kwame to Washington with him!
We are in soooo much trouble if this guy, who is more LIBERAL than John Kerry was, (was that possible) gets in the White House!
Michelle Obama looks like she has an axe to grind.
I urge you all to vote for McCain!

America has ALREADY voted for change! They were going show Bush in 2006! And we sure got CHANGE!

Before Democrats controlled Congress:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.

2) Regular unleaded gasoline was $2.19 a gallon.

3) Unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet.

2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.00 a gallon.

3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).

4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses).

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; 1% of American homes are now in foreclosure.

6) Oil was 63 dollars a barrel the day before the newest congress convened. It closed last Friday at 126 dollars a barrel. That is doubled for those with fuzzy math.

7) Economic Growth for the 4th quarter of 2006 in GDP was 3.5 percent.

8)1st Quarter 2008 0.6 percent.

Remember it's Congress that makes laws, not the President. The President has to work with what is handed to the Administration.

Thanks realism, You know so many people are wearing blinders, very quick to blame the president and not the state and local governments! State governors are in more control of state economies than any president is or has been! Obama is the one who wants to continue the local struggles of common folks! God help us if he gets elected! For instance, there are 9 different companies building a speciality vehicle for the military. Now, add the hundreds of smaller sub-contracted corporations contributing to each vehicle and there are thousands of jobe. Now, take the military out of Iraq and you would not need this enterprise and lay off those thousands of workers and deny re-enlistment of all soldiers and put them on the street. What have you got? OBAMA-GATE! lesser of two evils...McMain in 08!

Please oh please, wake up America. Obama is just a skinny bag of wind that will say what ever you want to hear. Change, yup, it will be all that you have left in your pocket if he has his way.

The man is just as full of empty promises as his past career has been. What can a man who has never done anything with the Military do to expect to lead it? How do you trust someone who turns on his own Mother and Grandmother? Talk about evil, beware the wolf in sheeps clothing, even if it is black!!

To hell with Obama.

A month ago he was fighting to make sure Michigan's votes didn't count in the primary.

Now that Hillery has backed off he all the sudden cares about us.
