I really think this is a very good start !! but there is many more changes that need to be made as well.

I also believe that any lawmaker and position within the government even beyond Michigan should be ineligible for office if they have any ties or interests in Military Defense or Energy.

I think that it is time to change our Government policies as soon as possible. Why are we the one of the only states with full time representatives of government. Maybe if they felt the cutback in pay, they too would work harder to strengthen our economy?

It is about time that the State Legislators & all those is Lansing start to feel the big pinch they have put on the citizens of MI. Why haven't their benefits been cut, why haven't they lost their jobs, why are we, the MI taxpayers still paying for their state fueled & insured vehicles?
When somebody approaches you to sign the petition to cut back on the Lansing jobs, please take time to sign it. These people are only getting paid $1.50 per signature to get this on the ballot. Maybe we will see a Senator or Judge asking for help when they can't survive on $90.000 salary for 90 days of work.
Maybe when the State officers get pay cuts they think about passing extensions for all the unemployed in MI.

I think Michigan needs to become a right to work state. We keep losing jobs to other states due to the overbearing rules of the UAW that to me seems a bit archaic considering the times in which we live. One reason we are losing jobs is because of the unions and their stranglehold they have on Michigan and her economy. I thought unions were supposed to help create good jobs not chase them away.

Lets add another reform ... all attorneys, barred or not, will be required as doctors, nurses, social workers, employment services, entertainers, dancers, building contractors and the like will have to be "licensed" not just have a bar card, but actually licensed! The will have to subscribe to a set of ethics, rules and regulations just like anybody else and most of all must devulge any and all financial assests, holdings, and their records will be subject to audit, like any accounting firm.

As it stands now, attorneys are above the law, and there is not, not in any way what so ever, "licensed" as many have claimed. They only posess a Bar Card. Allowing attorneys to continue to operate without any oversight by a regulatory agency as in other occupations will only allow the inequities to continue.

Oh yes ... I forgot to answer the original query, is the Ballot proposal a good one ...

YES!!! It is a start. A concurent proposal would be to assist 50,000 attorneys to make their home of record the bottom of Lake Michigan, but it might result in an EPA superfund for extreme water pollution, even then it would be a piss poor start.

How about not shrinking the supreme court judges numbers (I don't see how losing two of them will pay for ten circuit judges), and nix the lobbiest. They are the ones that push the corporate agenda. They need to be kicked out of all areas of government. I also agree that we need less money for the law makers especially considering most don't even show up for voting. Not to mention this State has far more money then they admit. Research the Michigan Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and you will find that this state isn't as broke as they let on. They just don't want to sell of holdings in corporations and the like.
We need a whole sale change. We need law makers that respect the Constitution and will stand up against ushering us into world governments like the EU and the NAU that no one in the MSM wants to speak on.

And how about getting rid of the electronic voting machines and go back to the harder to fraud paper ballots.
