Has the rising price of gas effected your spending habits?  Forced you to cut back on certain things?  Caused you to take the bus? Ride your bike?  Walk more?  Spend more or less at the grocery?  Not eat out as much?  Purchased a smaller car?

We want to know how the high price of gas has effected you?

It is high time we start drilling off the east coast of the U.S., build a few more refineries and most of all, build nuclear power plants to take us into the future.

The United States has the bst roadway infrastructure in the world and if we don't invest in alternate fuel and synthetic oils immediately then we won't need this roadway system do we?

It is time for America to wake up. We are so worried about Global Warming in the United States that we are soon to lose our country over it. China and Russia still use coal and do not care or will let it bother them so why should we. We have enough gas in Colorado, Montana, North and South Dakota that could carry us into the next century.

When I start to see hand pulled carts becoming a business in New York, it makes me think that we are soon to be a third world country. Why should we worry about it when they don't. China does not care about gas prices because they do not require all the devices we do to end pollution. This is why American Big Trucks and Cars are selling like hot cakes in China. They get better gas milage than our small cars do here.

So much relies on computer work these days, so why not let more workers work from home?

My wife and I are retired on a fixed income and after several years of declining IRA's and other retirement accounts our ability to absorb rapidly rising gasoline costs is making life difficult. As gas rises so does everything else including food. We have limited our driving to only necessary trips and try to take care of everything in one outing. Groceries are limited to the basics, ie. no steak. We only eat out once or twice a month. Also, the prospect of vacations or any trip that requires driving is out of the picture.
Presently we have a Dodge minivan which will be traded for the best high gas mileage car we can afford, American or Japanese. After that who knows.

I agree, its time to wake up America...this is the most ridculous use of political power, Americans are suffering, basically wiping out middle class americans. I hope the president and all whos portfolios thrive on the gas/oil investments, enjoy their greed, while the heart and soul of America dies.

It's time for this country to stop pampering the Green Peace and Pine Nuts radicals and release the emission controls put onto vehicles. It's time to open up drilling in Alaska, ND, SD, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, HELL...all of America. It's time to stop all aid to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Brazil, HELL...all of the world besides us.

No sales to Japan. No sales to Mexico. No sales to China. No sales to Russia. No sales to any country. No free food to Japan, Mexico, China, Somalia, Russia, etc. Remove all illegal immigrants from Mexico, even if it has to be by force of gun. Remove all business from all countries. Bring back our technology and our security information from India, Pakistan and Philliphines.

Do this for 1 year. 1 YEAR!!!! And we guarantee you that you will have the fuel you need. You will have the freedom of jobs and social security and medical access.

Find the Oil Speculators that have driven up the price of crude oil and remove their financial gains, homes, cars, toys, or whatever they've purchased or hidden in offshore accounts. Then remove them from the United States with no visa to return. This is our own country men and women who are driving up the price of oil, and they should be accountable.

So should Congress. The next time you see your Senator driving into an event in your town in his Limo, stand in front of him or her and make him or her get out and walk. Hold them accountable for their $1000.00 plate dinners to build up the portfolio's of the next FRIGGIN politician that comes in with the promi

(whoops) promise that they'll fix everything.

Hold GWB and his staff of idiots to be accountable for all that they've done, and remove their visa's for evils they've brought on this country.

My husband just purchased a motor scooter yesterday to help save money on his commute to work. I work from home, but with five kids we are doing everything we can to save money with these ridiculous gas prices.

My job as a Home Care Assistant is dependant on my vehicle so I have NO choice but to pay the cost. I have 2 teens an am considered homeless but staying with friends. I make $13,000 a year. Food and insurance are now luxuries I can no longer afford. My schedule doesn't allow any time for me to apply for any assistance, IF I would be eligible.

I don't travel very much as my income is very small and I drive an escort.I have to pay for my own health insurance now and it has taken a big chunk out of monthly pay,so gas is limited big time. I will not let my tank get below 3/4 because i just cringe if i have to put more than $15.00 in. the problem in this country is just greed. like they say the rich keep getting richer and the poor are getting poorer with more moving into the poor catagory

I am one of the original cruisers but with gas prices up so high, I don't make any extra trips anywhere. We are fortunate to be near the lake so I can fish often & we can take quiet free walks together. When we do go shopping, we make sure we get enough for a couple weeks & I don't visit my friends/family as often.

In 35 yrs. on the road one constant remains;
GAS AIN'T GOIN DOWN....
NEVER HAS, NEVER WILL....
Blame who you want, OPEC, GWB, Huricanes, China, and now with Ethynol, even FARMERS.....
Quit worrying about higher prices,
Start worrying about increasing your income !
If it pays, is moral, and legal, I'll do it !

Yes, there is less money in everybody's pockets. But I'm not a traveler. My play time is Downtown in the Summer. It costs nothing to enjoy the Riverfront on a hot summer night.
And at present I only live three miles from where I work. But that will change in a very short time, to Huron Twsh. It will be a way longer drive, to and from. But people have to work, so $4.00, $5.00, or $6.00. What else can you do? There are Capped Wells sitting in Texas. Maybe it's time for a revolt by all.
We are to laxed. Need to get some fight in us like the 60s. You have to DEMAND ACTION.
Time for another Million people March to Washington. Only this time make it a 10,000,000 people March.

yes i cut back
can not do any thing these days due to the price of gas

i believe it will go higher as pres. bush rating goes lower. there is a connection between the two.

my guess is pres bush will have planned another attack on america. just to bolster his slush fund that the oil company's are holding for him

he made sure of that with his last visit to saudi, to complete the deal as it were.

It has made a mess out of my finances and now with no power for almost a week...it just makes me cry.
It is obvious these gas prices are not going to come down any time soon...and I understand everybody is paying the price...but if our employers don't keep up with the cost of living....we are going to get further in debt. Consumers are having trouble just keeping basic necessities available such as food and utilities. Give us a break.....please!
Prior to the power going out, my husband and I were discussing things we are simply going to have to cut out such as extra cable stations, shut the phone off, etc...until something changes. We already stopped going out to eat, will not go on a vacation requiring any travel, etc. That special "gift" of a stimulus check we are suppose to get...will only stimulate our property tax bill we just got. Out one side of the government and back into another. The only stimulating this check did for me ...was to lose money.

Most people quit traveiling. Like LONGSNOT, she had to quit because the CDC considers her a carrier of some ugly case of HOOF & MOUTH (as you can read from her post here and others), so she's actually quarantined, not because she wants to. And she wants fights like in the 60's? My God, they outlawed fights when your birthday came in 1860, so pull in your reins LONGSNOT, because it appears that while you worked at the race track, you've been ridden hard and put away wet.

Fox2NewsViewer, we're all in the same boat, and we mean literally due to the flooding, but you have to cut corners to make it. Hang on, for this bubble is going to break, we just don't know when.

Vacation? I can't afford to put gas in my car to go out to look for a job.
Yes for all the people who want to save the earth from drilling for oil in the good ole' USA go to NASA & board the next ship to MARS.
Hug a tree in Saudi because all the oil in Texas is in reserve for your former US presidents when the rest of of are cutting down trees to heat our homes & cook our food.

I have changed my life style to cutting my families hair--it may not look as nice but with 3 kids and a husband that is $45 + a good tip right there. I wait until I can't stand my own hair and either my husband will treat me to a hair cut or my Mother will pay for me to get one. My mother who is retired and living on a fixed income that is. How sad is that?? My children will have to change schools this coming year because they attended a charter school that I drove them to and even with carpooling, I have a school they can attend right behind my house or there is public school with busing. We never eat out any more. Our summer has been dull for the children because what little money we have--has to go in our tank. We simply can't afford big vacations like before. This is a sad economy....
