After months of debate between the Clinton and Obama camps and Democratic party officials, the party has decided on a compromise to seat Michigan and Florida delegates at the convention,  with each one counting as a half vote.  This has seemed to placate Obama supporters, but Clinton followers are livid, saying she won fair and square in Michigan and that every vote should be counted.  What do you think?  Putting your personal politics aside if possible, do you think this was a fair solution?  Or did the Democratic party screw it up?  How does this affect your view of the primary process?  Let us know your thoughts.

No I do not think this was a fair solution. The people who voted, voted for who they wanted and things should stand the way they were intially. I believe the democrate party is favoring one over the other and is doing anything they can to get the one they want elected!!

First off I think Michigan and Florida was WAY out off line when they felt no one can control them, and changed their primarys to suit them.Totaly against party policy ,So i belive NONE, of the votes should count. Rules were made for a reason, Maybe next time our leaders in Lansing, and Fla. will think before they get so cocky.

Yes I do think it was fair. Obama and Edwards supporters did not have an opportunity to vote. They kept the pledge to remove their names from the ballot , in keeping with DNC rules. The only other solution would be redoing the primary. The party says this is not practical. In Michigan, Sen. Clinton was guilty just like the state Dem leaders of not playing by the rules. I think she should be grateful for the delegates she received. It's time to unify the party and unseat the Bush camp.

marygrove....this has nothing to do with Bush !! It has to do with 2 states not following the ruls of the DNC, and as far as our choise of Obama or Clinton = Remove them both and elect Edwards as democrat canidate and go on . then elect our next Pres.

they did not have to take their names off the ballot the only thing was that they were not aloud to campaign in either state they left their names on in fla. if I'm not mistaken and all the news stations every 5 minutes were telling everyone that if you want obama or Edwards you were to vote uncommitted from the time the two states were told that they could not move up the primaries then they have the gall to tell everyone that went out to vote they it does not matter were are going to do what we want to with your vote! How dare they have the damn nerve to tell anyone that their vote will not be counted.

I agree with zspoons. If the MI and Fla had followed the rules in the first place this all would be a non issue. So the two states and their voters will just have to settle for this solution. Their fault. No sympathy from me.

For those who missed the telivised Rules meeting Saterday. Our votes were used as a protest to the preferential treatment of the two states that take the advantage of being the first to hold their primaries every election. No state should reserve the right to be first every time.We should be proud of our leaders for standing up for the righs of voters all across the country to be given the opertunity to be first.

it is amazing to me how the democrats said Bush stoled votes in 2000 and only to do same exact thing IN 08. Not only does he(OBAMA) gets nearly half the delegates mich ,he gets 4 more from Hillary. What? How is that possible????? How in the world does that make sence? What a loony party it has become. How can the DNC assumed that "uncommitted" votes would have gone to obama? These people probably voted this way because they knew their votes would not have counted and did so ,maybe out of protest , and not for Obama. The DNC just rigged this thing to assure Obama a win.

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS BECOME A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES

ALL the DNC has done is to hand the election to J McCain. I as an Ind. will NOT vote for Obama. He has no clue as to whats going on. And it seems the same for Dean and his fellow IDIOTS. I do not like all that the GOP stands for, but I truly dont trust Obama. So 4 more yrs of GOP Rule, Thank you Mr Dean.

The party did the right thing in penalizing MI for jumping the gun for the flawed primary. Maybe we can get it right the next time.

zspoons. Yes it has everything to do with Bush. He's the bottom line in this contest. The bottom line is this country has had 8years of a dum dum running this country and our reputation in the ground. Furthermore, I don't think the democratic rules have any meaning for you, other than to weaken the democratic party's run for the whitehouse. That's why you made that cute remark about Edwards. You don't seem to care which candidate is treated fairly/unfairly. I already said that MI/FL are lucky to have any delegates seated since they decided to play by their own rules. Really, the Republicans should just sit this one out. They've had 8 years . All they have to show for it is a war(based on fiction), record home foreclosures, high interest rates, isolation and less than a 30% approval rate for the genius president and his gropies.
