No TV in Police Stations, What's next , grounding

Sources at Fox 2 say the removal of televisions from police stations is a direct result from police officers cheering and applauding when they watched Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick get formally charged on perjury and misconduct infractions.

It's true that a memo was sent out (read memo below), but if its because officers cheered watching him get charged, how ridiculous is that? What's next, a grounding. No recess. No dessert. A time out chair. On a serious note, will not having television impede officers workload as many of them tell us at Fox 2 that they depend it for news information and for playing surveillance tapes.

What's your take. SOUND OFF AND BE HEARD.

Memo issued from Detroit Police Central office -- The Detroit police district commanders have received an inter-office memorandum ordering them to remove all T.V. sets from working areas by 8am on Friday. All district supervisors are to ensure that all T.V. sets are removed from all working areas in the building by 8am Friday, Apr 4th, 2008. This includes tv sets in the lieutenants & sergeants offices, timekeeping office, at the front desk and behind the front desk, in iou, except the iou commanding officers office, property control office, doj office, vmo office, special operations offices and any other working area not listed. Failure to remove the T.V. Sets will result in their removal and discarding of same. This includes gaming division and central events.

This is outragous. This dictator Kilpatrick has his evil web entertwinned in all of Detroit. He needs to GO now and stop holding Detroit hostage.

By the way....does he think he's kidding people by pretending nothing has happened as he's just the mayor? Maybe someone should tell him he's been charged with 8 felonies. I don't think he knows that!!!!

Might be an omen....Could be that charges are coming down for bully......The Dept. is in a shambles and no body likes her anyways.....

I THINK CUMMINGS KNEW THE CHEERS WERE FOR HER AS WELL AS THE MAYOR. THE OFFICERS HAVE HAD ACCESS TO THE TV'S FOR A LONG TIME. IF THEY WERE ACTUALLY INTERFERRING WITH THEIR ABILTY TO DO THEIR JOBS; WHY WEREN'T THEY REMOVED BEFORE NOW? I REALLY THINK THE HANDWRITTING WAS ON THE WALL, AND SHE READ IT CORRECTLY.

Removing the TV'S is another sign that the Kilpatrick thug squad is rampant in the chief of police offices. Ella needs to go just like Beatty!!! Remember, she was hiding the red Navigator and got pissed when she got caught by Steve Wilson. The Kilpatrick house of dominoes needs to come crumbling down with a wrecking ball!!!!!!

The police officers that were seen passing out packs from door to door today; is this punishment for their outburst of laughter when Kym Worthy read the charges against the Mayor a month ago? I bet so. Removing the tv's they have had for ages, just wasn't enough I suppose.
