LANSING, Mich.  --  Ten state lawmakers who voted to raise taxes may be fighting for their jobs.

Anti-tax activists on Thursday named five Democrats and five Republicans in the 148-member Legislature as recall targets. Paperwork was quickly filed against one legislator -- Rep. Steve Bieda, D-Warren -- with more to come against nine others Friday and early next week.

Would you sign a petition to recall a representative who voted for Michigan's tax increase? Sound Off here.

Recalling the State Senators and Representatives is just practice for recalling TAXING JENNY.
Maybe now these fools will understand what it's like to make a Mickey Mouse check, and have to give more of it away to the state.
Just make sure that when we fire them, all the BENEFITS are taken away also.
Where do I sign?

THIS STATE HAS BLOWN ME AWAY!.....JENNY

I am glad to see that our thoughts matter in this tax increase. I am glad to hear that our Gov.Jennifer Granholm is upset, now maybe she can see how most of us struggling and how angry we are about having to pay higher taxes. Why shouldn't anyone in office be affected by this $1.75 billion deficit?

Courage, how is this courage? I find it to be pathetic, there is nothing that indicates courage to stand up and hold your breath until you get your way! The recall needs to have 11 officials included with Jenny leading the bunch.

I love the last sentence in the article:

There also has been talk of recalling the governor, though it would take at least 950,000 valid signatures to put a Granholm recall on the ballot. Granholm said last week she was angry at groups "on the fringes" who may try recalls.

What does she think people just should take her word for it that we need this tax increase, obviously she has no economic background...Tell me when and where to sign, I could bring my whole neighborhood

Recall anyone that voted for this pathetic tax increase. As taxpayers we have to cut our budgets to the bone but Lansing doesn't. Let them show us a good faith movement, change the way they get their pension and insurance benefits. Start by paying for 30% of their insurance coverage, and having co-pays. Then make it 8 years of service before there is a partial pension instead of 2 terms for a full pension. In some cases 2 terms is only 4 years.

RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL JENNY NOW!!!
She is SOOOO BAD for this state, she is causing us to lose more jobs and people that at the rate she is going we will need to tax everyone at 50% of the pay just to keep the state afloat until she gets the boot out...... I am not a devote republican or democrat I vote for who I think can make a difference and SHE CANNOT, she is following in Hillary's footsteps because she wants to be with Hillary in 2008 election. I bet she is waiting and then is going to be her V.P., this way she can skate out of the state really fast..

RECALL RECALL RECALL and lets not forget Carl Levin, Debbie Stabenow and John Dingell..

Why don't you all take a PAY CUT to help get this state through its worse times, instead of all of you giving yourselves pay raises.

And lets stop handing out State Medicaid to everyine that comes into the state from overseas in record time, we are killing ourselves in the hospitals with all this and who is suffering us, the ACTUAL TAX PAYERS of this state. THATS WHO WAKE UP JENNY and SMELL the coffee.

Let's recall them all including Jenny. They may think they are invincable but they are not. I don't see anyone stepping up to the plate. It's time to recall.

The advoctes of recall are only reacting to the rhetoric of those who wish to destroy state and local government in this state. What a bunch of whiners, 50 cents a week is really going to have a big impact on your family budget! Get your head out of sand and really look what Big John and his coharts did to the structual stability of this state. There was a time in Michigan when people cared about the welfare of their neighbors, instead of personal greed! I really think many of you need a lesson in civics to learn about the underlying principals of our Republic. It quite obvious from some of your comments that your education is lacking! For shame!

Is Drolet for real. .4% is a big fat tax increase! Man what a yo-yo. Hey folks if you want services you have to pay for them. Oh I forgot, we don't need schools, colleges, police or fire protection, highways, or any of the many services provided by state and local units of government. We just need 50 cents more a week!

To dvdfriese, I am so glad to hear that you feel that the $250 per year tax increase I have to pay is not going to impact my budget, I struggle to pay my kids lunch money for school and some days I dont have enough for gas at the gas pump, Not to mention struggling to pay property taxes and all of the other daily living expenses that keep going up. So heres a proposition to you since it obviously doesnt impact your budget, How about you pay my $230 share for ther next 20 years in advance, just sen me a check for Four thousand and six hundred dollars ($4,600.00) Its
really nice of you to feel I have no right to whine about what they do with my hard earned money.

metallurgy,

You want to really cut your costs? Write George Bush and ask him to put Oil back on the commodities market that way it's regulated and we won't get the inflated prices at the pump.
