UFO's
and The Digital Transition!

I’m ready! I am a
believer with a digital receiver!
Charlie Layno is The Techno babble guy for My Fox WGHP TV
8 in The Triad Region of NC. He is keeping us up to date on the upcoming
digital transition in February 2008. The
Transition makes me wonder if all of our previous attempts to send analog
messages into outer space are useless now.
Will we keep analog receivers for alien messages alive or destroy
them? It also makes me wonder that if we
had the proper hardware or software we may have already made contact. I think an evolved form of laser fiber optics
will transmit and receive messages in the future. This technology may even enable us to get
beamed up and down and all around the universe.
What travels faster through space, a laser light or a digital signal?

Pre-Season Tease!
In celebration of Winston-Salem's announcement of The Baseball Team's new name, The Dots will be with The Dash at the
next press conference for an exhibition game.
At The Ceremony Practice the dugouts were emptied because one of The Dots
called one of The Dashes a Dah! Then one
of The Dash called one of The Dots a Dit! Then there was a huge debate whether
more than one Dash would be spelled on the outfield walls as The Dashes or just
plain, The Dash. Team members have
racked their brains introducing themselves.
We are The Dash!
We are The Dashes!
The Dash Rules!
The Dashes Rule!
Because the word We when speaking of more than one person is
plural, We is The Dash, has been ruled out.
When WE = one team, The Dash, then We is The Dash is appropriate!
Fans and base coaches have been practicing Morse Code so
they can send insults to the opposing team and referees by tapping on the
bleachers in unison! Miniature bat sales
are expected to increase as they make good noise on the wooden bleachers!
One old timer was over heard at The Club’s local bar with
his head in his hands:
We are a Baseball Team, not a box of SOAP!
Personally I think it is a subliminal cry for help!

I imagine some of us are holding our heads in our hands, some of us
have an uncontrollable grin on their face and some of us are moving to the
music and getting ready for the ride!

I have had the great privilege to be backstage
with some prophets and musicians! I sat
next to Gretchen on the stage, held her hand and talked while The Jefferson
Starship played! Gretchen is Papa John
Creach's wife of Jefferson Starship. In 1989-90 she told me about how he has
had the most terrible case of arthritis. He stands backstage motionless, then
comes out to play his one song and just burns up the fiddle. Gretchen told me
Paul Kantner was a real prophet. Man I wish I had a digital then. I managed to
get someone to shoot a shot of myself, The Drummer "Prairie" and the
lead singer. The drummer was impressed because Bill Scott had taught me about
triplets!! For the life of me I can't remember the female lead singer’s name,
but she is the daughter of Grace Slick's friend (or something like that) !! This may even be China Slick, Grace's Daughter.

I am looking for someone with a mac and some time on their
hands to help Beta Test an up and coming music application that notifies users
of their favorite artists in concert. There is no pay. This is a labor of love. This new application will work with MySpace
Facebook your media library and others. If there are any pc users out there
that want to give it a try please send me an e-mail.

This is a time lapse of my backyard from Friday, October 10,
2008, 5:43:06 PM to
November 17, 2008, 5:24:24 PM. The colorful trees are
actually my neighbor’s trees but I really enjoy them.

Political
Bob,
No matter what
happens on Election Day 2008 tomorrow I want to say thanks for your
extraordinary efforts to filter out fact from fiction during this
marathon. I enjoy your reporting
style. I especially like the way you
pull the commercials right off the screen and separate fact from fiction. I don’t usually make an appearance in The
Political section. I leave politics to
my Nephew, My Wife and informative political analysts like Bob Buckley!

Voting at The Arcadia Community Center was painless. It took my wife and I five minutes tops. There were only a few people in line ahead of us. We voted around 10:30am 11/04/08. In the photo above Regina helps my wife Vera crank up the machine.

This last weekend I took a trip to the mountains to catch
the fall colors. I must have taken the wrong road or visited the wrong
mountain. The mountains were as beautiful as ever but this mountain road was
different from the rest. The colors remained green. As I cleared the top of the
pass I swore I saw Van Denton taking pictures of his family. I thought I’d get
out at the bottom of the hill and flag him down for an autograph and to find
out why this patch of mountain was different. I filmed his ride down the
winding hill.

We Found One!
My wife and I have been searching for a REAL Butcher Shop
forever! Since Wal-Mart came to Peter's Creek Parkway we
noticed that The Lowe’s Food staff on Peter's Creek Parkway has been replaced 2 or 3 times
over. Oscar the butcher from Lowes from Czechoslovakia
has been long gone. The meat sold is not
bad at Lowe’s but it is all pre cut and pre packaged now. I had a conversation with one of the new guys
in the meat department at Lowes. His eyes got huge when 2 rib-eyes cost
$30.00. He said are you sure you want to pay that much! I said yes and I learned that Lowe’s barely
pays their help enough so even the guys in the meat department can’t afford the
steaks. He told me the management keeps
promising a company party where steaks will be served but it never happens.
Well we SCORED! Off
of I-40 at 150 or Peter’s Creek
Parkway, head towards Salisbury.
Pass Lowes, pass Food Lion. Just
before Piedmont Fence next to Howie’s Subs on the left you will see it! Give these guys your support! I watched The Butcher cut some Rib Eyes off
the rack to my liking for less than the pre-cut at Lowes. I got more meat too! I chose The Angus!
I copied their business cards and package deals and posted
them in Shane K Smith’s photo Album.

Of course you can call them at the links above or visit

I copied this from Their website.
In 2008, Olde World Meat Market was launched in Winston Salem, NC in order
to serve the needs of individuals within the community. These needs were
recognized by the sister company, Midway Meats Incorporated, which
predominately services restaurants, but through the years had many walk in
customers. Midway Meats Incorporated was established in 1972 and services the
territories of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Despite a new name and new location, the heart of Olde World Meat Market is
not new. We have three generations of experienced and adept employees within
our market who are happy to help you. We are an old fashioned butcher shop with
small town service. We will prepare your meats to your and your family's
specifications.
We carry a variety of meats in our market: USDA Prime and Choice Beef lined
with marbling for a mouth watering taste, fresh chicken, fresh ground country
sausage, a full line of pork and a variety of seafood. We also carry a nice
selection of deli meats and cheeses which can be sliced to your preference. We
offer local, fresh, homemade breads, deli trays, and gift baskets for all your
party and catering needs.
Come visit our Olde World Market and let us give you some old fashioned
personal assistance. We will be happy to help you choose the cuts of meat which
will feed your family best. Make us the Olde World meat Market of your choice.
