After three years of meetings with lawmakers, lawyers and lobbyists....it's finally happened!  New laws to protect us against bad builders and shady contractors.

Governor Granholm signed the bills today and had very kind words to say to me and to our viewers who told their stories which inspired our lawmakers to get to work.

I am very proud.  Fox 2 viewers, we did it!  We worked together to get something done!

Thank you.

as a person that has had nothing but bad dealings with contractors I am happy that something is being done. I am a fan of Rob and fox 2 and know he's worked really hard to with this. Does this mean there will be no more bad contractor hall of shame stories? I actually like to watch them squirm.

Rob,

The viewers wrote but it was your following up on the story that made this a brighter day for us all. Thanks for hanging in there and getting Lansing to take action. I am just one but you have changed the lives of millions for the better. There are many awards in your industry but they pale in the awe of truly making a difference, Well Done.

WTG Rob! I remember our email conversation yesterday when you said you were on your way to Lansing to meet the Governor-I knew right them it must be big & FOR the people. You are the man, Rob! Proof that the Problem Solvers DO get results.

Rob, you saw firsthand in our house what even a licensed contractor can do when they are careless and sloppy. Our “high-end” builder continues to construct houses, and its partners are living normal lives, while ours are disrupted and on hold.

I look forward to these laws being enforced vigorously and builders toeing the line knowing that if they don't there will be consequences. Thank you for your continued help on behalf of all those who need it.
