I've done stories about fake Gucci handbags and phony Rolex watches...I've seen knockoff Nike sneakers, listened to imitation JBL speakers and sniffed Calvin Klein perfume that was really Calvin Clone perfume!  Now, I've seen it all.  A fake Taylor Made golf club!  I put the guy who sold it in the Hall of Shame.

Have you ever bought a fake?  If so, what was it and how was it?

Hi Rob; just got done watching your great report. It will be interesting to see what kind of things people share about their "fake" purchases. I for one have never purchased a fake name brand. And I am a self-proclaimed shopaholic! I guess it may be the way my Mom raised me...I'm not sure. But I just buy things that appeal to me. I don't care whether it comes from Saks Fifth Avenue or Target's sale rack! It's funny; some of the greatest compliments I've gotten regarding something I'm wearing came from someone's "red tag" sale! If it happens to be a "designer", that's fine, but I don't seek them out - real or fake. Keep up the good work, Rob.

A guy owed me a bunch of money and he traded me some jewelry to pay off his debt. I took it to a jeweler and he told me it wasn't gold and the stones were fake. I was so pissed. I never saw the guy again. Also, once I bought a watch that was supposed to be a fancy designer watch. Same jeweler told me it was fake. I'm a dope I guess.

John-I get many letters from people asking for help. I do my best to answer everyone and try my best to keep track of as much as I can. Sometimes things get lost in a shuffle. A police beating is certainly a very important subject, but I do not usually tackle stories of that type. If I overlooked you, forgive me. Glad things worked out well for you afterall.

I had a problem a couple of years ago with a golf store called second swing in Westland!

The head on a driver I bought snapped off! The store gave me 2 other clubs and the same thing kept happening!!!

I found out later from my father the club I had bought was a knockoff and if a magnet stuck to the bottom it was a fake! I took a very weak magnet and it stuck!!! The club was supposed to be made of titanium and magnets are not able to stick to it!!!

Rob,
Please educate your viewers on why the buyer of the Fake Golf Club should not of even got caught up in that transaction. First, feedback is a important tool when shopping on ebay. The sellers feedback was only 33 stars with some of those transactions receiving negitive feedback... 33 stars???? The buyer should of expected to get the SHAFT, why would he send money to anyone with such little transaction history is beyond me but bailing people out of stupid situations could be a full time job. Please look for bigger fish to fry & let stupid people be dumb. A fool and his money are soon parted!!!
