It is just me... or is this one long winter...   cold,snow,cold,snow,cold.   Who is ready for a serious THAW!!!!

I'm in spring/summer mode myself.

I'm ready for those warm (hot), humid, sunny days with the thunderstorms.

Well, this is my 1st winter in retirement in the North Country. What timing! The hardest winter in 20 yrs...lol. I am ready for the Spring to come. They way I am pushing it is to plant a bunch of plants for my Garden. Not alot of Nurseries up here. I seem to get a new Catalog in the mail every week. Its a shame I only have 10 acers.

I don't celebrate winter, it is not in my vocabulary. Unless there is snow that I have to wear boots in I wear cropped pants and shoes without socks all year round. Now I am not stupid and have the appropriate gear in my car for just in case. This year the weather is beyond horrible and I have had it. I need it to be nice out so I can take my 7month old son OUTSIDE. Come on Rich work some magic.

Since the Mayor has made it clear the suburbs are always to blame, join the Boycott of Downtown this Saturday, March 16, 2008-No hockey games, No Fox Theater, no Casinos. Show your suburban pride and don't let the Mayor keep pulling the race card on us "outsiders"-Just like when Rev Sheffield asked on live TV for a boycott of Oakland County when L. Brooks Patterson wouldn't join the Cobo expansion conferece-Let's make a threat a reality-Spend time in your local suburban communities-Check out Freedom Hill, Emerald Theater, The Palace, Pine Knob, support your local suburban school programs, go to Windsor Casino where the money benefits the people not a crooked city government. Kilpatrick had the arrogance to call out the suburbs & we have pride too! Show Hizz Honor who really spends the big bucks and BOYCOTT DOWNTOWN DETROIT THIS SATURDAY MARCH 16, 2008-DON'T LET THE MAYOR PLAY THE BURBS LIKE A CHEAP TOY-WE CAN UNITE AND FIGHT UNTIL KILPATRICK IS HISTORY-Spending our hard earned suburban dollars in the city is like supporting the Mayor and his filthy corrupt government-STAND UP AND UNITE ALL SUBURBAN CITIES AND ALL RACES TO SHOW KILPATRICK WE WON'T TAKE HIS RACIAL GARBAGE ANYMORE!! wHEN THE DOWNTOWN VENUES PUT PRESSURE ON THE KWAMSTER TO LEAVE AFTER THEIR BUSINESS DROPS, WE WILL HAVE WON!! Who is Rich Luterman... Does anybody care??? Things I like in no particular order (besides the obvious, wife/kids/mom/dad/weather
)... fresh air, airplanes, canoeing, U.S. history, Mt. Everest, an Amtrak train ride, a good football/baseball/hockey game, Michigan travel, good ice cream, Thanksgiving, Penn State, the Adirondacks, seafood, flannel sheets, Post Offices, M & M's, The Thumb, NASA history, Pittsburgh, used book stores, and drives in the country. My favorite motto... which comes from the movie Mr. Mom; "It's real easy to forget what's important... So DON'T!" My favorite movies; The Right Stuff, Chariots of Fire, Trading Places, Jaws, Sharkey's Machine, Victory, The Sand Pebbles, Shane, Patton, Apocalypse Now, Twelve O'Clock High.
