My family is a very diverse group. My sister in law is Gay and married to a women. My sister is married to a black man and they have two beautiful bi-racial daughters. My sister and her husband just bought a new house in Grand Rapids but before buying this house they looked at another house.
She sent me the following and I am asking how you all feel about this statement. I would like to get a broad view from everyone on here. I will let you all know how I felt and responded later in this blog. But I would like to hear your comments first.
Here is the statement:
"This is the other home we were thinking about. The only problem is that the school district was almost all white. I think there were about 10 black kids in the whole school. "

I have to admit, I do not spend as much time on this blog as I use to. You see, I have a full time job. My day is usually full. I work, and then I go and work out, then eat dinner and spend time with the family. I usually get on line later in the evening and check my email and update myself with current events.
Most on here are disabled at home or retired. And there is nothing wrong with either (As long as the disabled are not just doing it to collect!)
This blog gives some of these people a way to communicate with others.
I log on a couple of times a week and go thought the posting and read the ones that look interesting.
I do have to say that I do look at the posters name first before reading the post. If I see Longshot or Seedub, I overlook the post. Why? because I have come to realize that these two are not worth my time. I have posted comments on Longshots board just to be deleted. I have tried to communicate with Seedub but his intelligence level is substandard. He is very racist and his only reason for posting is to pizz people off. He is very ignorant. I am sure that he will respond to this but I will not respond back, just not worth my time.
There are others on here that I very much disagree with also. Most of whom I will post back and forth with because I value their opinions even though I think they are wrong on every issue (Tall).
I see the back and forth arguments between the same people. One blog in particular caught my eye. “Constitutional crisis needs a life”. The tirade between SEEDUB and Bye-ByMI seems to be getting ridiculous. Bye, just ignore this man, like I said above, he is a racist fool that is intent on just aggravating a situation. He has no honor whatsoever and this is evident in his post. He is one of those people that are just a waste of breath to talk to. He is a master-baiter.
Mikey1966, your racist post don’t help out any either. Your post might carry a bit more weight if you would lighten up on the racial jabs. I am in no way a socialist and am not telling you that you do not have the 1st amendment right to free speech (or SEEDUB for that matter) but racist views only take you down a rung on the ladder of humanity.
I don’t have time in my life to sit and argue pointless views with ignorant people.
I do miss the back and forth with everyone on here, especially when it comes to politics.
I do find it funny how much Obama changed his views on the wars after his Security Briefing. WOW talk about a 180. What happen to CHANGE? He rehired all the Clinton People (Including Hillary)and he kept Bush’s War team. He asked Granholm for Economic advice HAHAHAHA. This is the CHANGE that ½ of you voted for?
Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish the best for all of you in 2009. Now that gas is down (does Bush get the credit for this since he got the “credit” when prices skyrocketed?), I hope that everyone gets back some of the money they lost this year in the stock market and 401 (k) accounts.
Still no word on my move to Utah. (This might be a good thing)

O.J. Simpson and C.J. Stewart Sentenced
Updated: Dec 5, 2008 02:59 PM EST
It was October 3, 2008 when a jury convicted Simpson on 11 felony and one misdemeanor counts.
Ron Goldman and his daughter Kim react to the sentencing.
Judge Glass heard from attorneys and even the two defendants before making her ruling.
Co-defendant, CJ Stewart pictured in the middle.
Former football great O.J. Simpson will spend anywhere from nine to 33 years in prison and his co-defendant, Clarence C.J. Stewart will spend 7.5 to 27 years for their roles in a Las Vegas armed robbery case.
Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass sentenced Simpson Friday after saying he is arrogant and ignorant. She says the evidence against him is overwhelming. "I can't ignore that the behavior on September 13 was reckless," Glass said.
Earlier, Simpson apologized and told the judge he is sorry about trying to retrieve memorabilia that he said belonged to him. He appeared ready to break down in tears during a rambling, 5-minute declaration.
"This is the first time I had the opportunity to catch the guys red-handed who had been stealing from my family," Simpson said.
"At the time of this event... it was clear to the court, you believed you could do in Las Vegas what you couldn't do elsewhere," Glass said.
"This is one of those days where you expect the worst and hope for the best," Yale Galanter said in a news conference after the sentencing. He said they prepared Simpson for the worst. He said that he believes that Simpson is relieved that he got a sentence near the bottom end and that it could have been a lot worse.
Prosecutor David Roger said Simpson was the ring leader in the botched attempt to recover the items from two collectibles peddlers.
"I didn't want to steal anything from anyone ... I'm sorry, sorry," he said. Judge Glass ruled before sentencing that Simpson cannot be freed on bail pending possible appeal.
Simpson will be removed from Clark County Detention Center quickly and will go to a processing center and it will be determined from that point where he will go.
Well finally- Justice is served!!!!

New rules ease ban on guns in national parks
Concealed-weapons permits, state permission will be required

updated 1 hour, 38 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - People will now be able to carry concealed firearms in some national parks and wildlife refuges.
An Interior Department rule issued Friday allows an individual to carry a loaded weapon in a park or wildlife refuge — but only if the person has a permit for a concealed weapon, and if the state where the park or refuge is located also allows loaded firearms in parks.
The rule overturns a Reagan-era regulation that has restricted loaded guns in parks and wildlife refuges. The previous regulations required that firearms be unloaded and placed somewhere that is not easily accessible, such as in a car trunk.
Assistant Interior Secretary Lyle Laverty said the new rule respects a long tradition of states and the federal government working together on natural resource issues.
The regulation allows individuals to carry concealed firearms in federal parks and wildlife refuges to the same extent they can lawfully do so under state law, Laverty said, adding that the approach is in line with rules adopted by the federal Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service. Those agencies let visitors carry weapons consistent with applicable federal and state laws.
The National Rifle Association hailed the rule change, which will take effect next month before President-elect Barack Obama takes office.
"We are pleased that the Interior Department recognizes the right of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families while enjoying America's national parks and wildlife refuges," said Chris W. Cox, the NRA's chief lobbyist.
The rule will restore the rights of law-abiding gun owners on federal lands and make federal law consistent with the state where the lands are located, Cox said. The NRA led efforts to change gun regulations they called inconsistent and unclear.
A group representing park rangers, retirees and conservation organizations said the rule change will lead to confusion for visitors, rangers and other law enforcement agencies.
"Once again, political leaders in the Bush administration have ignored the preferences of the American public by succumbing to political pressure, in this case generated by the National Rifle Association," said Bill Wade, president of the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees.
"This regulation will put visitors, employees and precious resources of the National Park System at risk. We will do everything possible to overturn it and return to a commonsense approach to guns in national parks that has been working for decades," Wade said.
The park rule will be published in the Federal Register next week and take effect 30 days later, well before Obama takes office Jan. 20. Overturning the rule could take months or even years, since it would require the new administration to restart the lengthy rule-making process.
Next step is to allow full carry rights!

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this area (or around Salt Lake area in general)?
Whatever you can provide would be a great help!

Although I am not happy with the Fact that Obama was elected as President, I can understand the emotional aspects of this vote with people of color.
Now my question lies:
in 2012 will you have the same positive views for a person of color running against Obama?
I think there will be at least two others trying for the Oval Office:
Bobby Jindel (Gov of Louisana) (Indian American)
and
Michael Steele (Lieutenant Gov of Maryland) (Black).
I would cast my vote any day for either of them. I would never cast a vote for Obama for a thousand different reasons. One of many is his association with racial and radical extremist.
To me that would be the same as McCain associating himself with the KKK or Michigan Militia, David Duke or a number of other racist and then asking for my vote. It would never happen.
I am happy for you, but I still am not happy he was voted in.
Lets not Judge Obama by the color of his skin but by the content of his character.

Forget Larry, Moe and Curley-
We now have the Senate, the house and the President.
Well, I have been blown away here in Michigan (thanks to Jenny Granholm) now I guess I need to get use to being blown away for the next 4 years.
I predicted a win by B Hussein OBama at work today with 346 Electoral votes to 192 for McCain. Everyone told me I was crazy, they said that America was not that stupid.
I work with mostly Military and military retirees.
I took the day off on Wednesday because I knew that B. Hussein Obama would win and I just would not be able to do my job.
I hope you people are happy. I am not. I just hope that the Republicans can get it together and run a stronger campaing in 2012.
Maybe we should not take public money and then outspend the Dems by 4 to1.
Oh well, its late and I am depressed.
I need to pull my money and Invest it in a safe place, I think the Caymens sound good.
I really don't want my hard earned cash going to support the dems. and thier handout nation.
I think I will write a book: From Democracy to socialism- the B. Hussein Obama presidency. a nation of economic handouts.
I think this would be a best seller for about 48% of the country.
I resign!

This was sent to me about a year ago and a friend just resent it. It still holds true!!!
The speech George W. Bush might give:
Normally, I start these things out by saying 'My Fellow Americans.' Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.
I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.
The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.
Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media.
Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this 'blood for oil' thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq 's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied ...People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered. ' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence wa s faulty.
Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ' Clinton ' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?
Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan , a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he's going to destroy us. While he's doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to re-elect him. He also thinks it's okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel. Did you sleep through high school?
You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.
That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are.. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe.
You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'
Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.
Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well Fed Ex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.
In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times, USA Today, or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.
I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.
I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.
So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.
Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that's it. God bless what's left of America.
Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.
PS - You might want to start learning Farsi, and buy a Koran.,_._,___

Here is a reprint of a letter that I wrote to the Voice in November of 2006 and also posted on this blog:
“OK, here we are the day after the elections. The Democrats took control of Congress. They also gained more Governorship. I think there was a clear message from many Americans to the Republican leadership. I do not believe that people voted for the liberal side of the Democrat Party. I believe that they voted against President Bush and the Republican Party. Here in Michigan we had mixed reactions. We voted back in a Governor that has done nothing good for the economy in four years. We again voted in a Senator that has done very little for Michigan. We kept both a Republican Attorney General and Secretary of State. Proposal 2 was a landslide victory as was the voting down of Proposal 5, both liberal positions. The Unions lost BIG on these issues but kept their puppets in Lansing.
America is a nation that allows for the choice of the people through a vote. I will support our currently elected government and hope they do well for our nation. Unlike people during the ’04 presidential elections, I will not make statements that I will move out of the country if the opposition takes control (Alec Baldwin, Robert Redford, Barbara Streisand etc…), to which they did not.
I will make a few predictions. \
One- the Bush tax cuts will not be renewed.
Two- Social welfare will get a very large boost.
Three- Taxes will increase dramatically to cover the cost of the Social reform.
Four- Because people have less money due to higher taxes, the stock market will fall.
Five- Consumer confidence will fall, leading to lack of spending in the retail and housing markets.
Six- Impeachment of President Bush will likely be on the top of the new Congress agenda, along with years of investigations into everything the Republicans have ever done in order to help Democrats win the White House in ’08.
Seven- Immigration will be on the list of things to talk about but nothing will be accomplished until after the ’08 elections. The Democrats need the Hispanic vote.
Eight- Michigan’s economy will not be any better. As unemployment rates go higher nationwide, Michigan will stay at the bottom of the list.
Nine- America has now become a weaker nation; there will be concessions with terrorist and rouge nations. We will be viewed as weak and incapable of finishing a job.
Ten- There will be another attack on this nation that will make 9/11 look like child’s play.
Hopefully none of these scenarios will take place. But I will bet anyone a steak dinner that at least 75% of these predictions come true during the next 2 years.”
Here we are in 2008 and getting ready for the November Presidential election.
Social Welfare got an extremely large boost, nearing 1 Trillion dollars.
Taxes will go up to cover the social welfare increase. (They have not yet, but will).
Stock market failing—no need to say anything on that.
Lack of spending in the Retail and housing markets- again just look around.
Looks like the Democrats will win the White House- I guess they did not learn from the failed Carter years.
The Democrats control Congress with a 8% approval rating- do you people not see this?
Michigan’s economy is getting worse- YES, I am blown away, aren’t you?
America has become weaker, financially and if Obama gets his way, we will be sitting down with IRAN and conceding failure to them.
Right now I am at 60% or better and still have a month to go.
Anyone still wanna bet???
