Ever since Kwame got caught in the text message scandal he has been fighting to stay in office. There is just too much money involved to just walk away. I'm not talking about his salary as the mayor, either. I am talking about the "pay to play" money going to "Bernard the bag man". I am talking about the kickbacks from Bobby. I am talking about the slush pool of money from fundraisers and political contributions. Kwame has everybody giving him money. He even has appointees giving him cash for his birthday.
Kwame also has to keep his job so his relatives can keep their jobs. They are all drawing paychecks from the city. I mean, when you add it all up, Kwame is making a lot of money from the suckers of Detroit. So no, he won't quit. There is no way to make him quit. You can't shame him, scold him, or anything else.
Another reason Kwame wants to stay on the job is because he likes to defy Whitey's control over him. His mama helped him to get elected mayor of Detroit. Now, in a way, this makes him the ruler of an independent African-American state. It is sort of off-limits to white political control. Whitey can't come in there and tell him what to do. Why? Because white politicians need his help to win elections. And white politicians are also scared that black people are going to start another riot. So Kwame can basically do anything he wants in Detroit and Whitey can't touch him. At least he is not supposed to.
But then, all of a sudden, a symbol of white control showed up at his sister's house. It was officer "Whitey" looking to serve papers on Kwame's friend Bobby. This was too much for Kwame! Officer "Whitey" thinking he can tell him what to do! So Kwame told him to get the "f---" off his porch and then gave him a shove.
Now that was bad enough. But now an even bigger symbol of white political power is on the way to punish Kwame. Jennifer Granholm, the white woman from Lansing, the female who has been dominating all the males for the last several years, the governor in a skirt, will be calling Kwame on the carpet. Uh oh, what is Kwame going to do now?
Does Kwame have any cards left to play? Granholm won't be running for reelection. What can Kwame offer her to back off? Can some behind the scenes deal still be made?
I think this whole sideshow is hilarious. It is all about the money. It is all about black independence from whitey. It is all about political power.
Michigan's Mom is going to spank Kwame. She is going to tell him that he has been a bad boy. Maybe she will BLEEP-slap him all the way back to Africa!
